CLAIMS
1. Bracelet made up of rigid links directly articulated to each other by articulation heads with a cylindrical surface and by attachment lips which surround the articulation heads over 180-, characterized in that it comprises links with two articulation heads and links with two hooking lips, the bracelet links being alternately of one type and the other.
2. Bracelet according to claim 1, characterized in that the articulation heads of the links with two articulation heads are arranged opposite one another and in that the hooking lips of the adjacent links which surround each one of the heads of the same link are tangent to each other.
3. Bracelet according to claim 1, characterized in that the links with two articulation heads comprise between the two heads a projecting central part limited by two lateral surfaces in an arc of cylinder coaxial each with one of the heads.
4. Bracelet according to claim 3, characterized in that the curvatures of the visible surfaces of the hooking lip links and links with articulation heads are at least approximately similar.
5. Bracelet according to claim 4, characterized in that the visible parts of the links with articulation heads are connected to said portions of cylindrical surface coaxial with the articulation heads by rounded tangent to the visible surfaces of the hooking lip links.
The present invention relates to a bracelet consisting of rigid links directly articulated to each other by articulation heads with a cylindrical surface and by attachment lips which surround the articulation heads over 180 ".
Bracelets of this kind are already known, for example from Swiss patent No 573731. The links of the bracelet described in this patent are all identical and have at one end a housing and at the other end a head of cylindrical shape, which is engaged. parallel to its axis in the corresponding housing, then locked by crimping. In patent No. 623215, an embodiment of a bracelet of the type mentioned at the start has already been described, according to which all the links are identical and have connecting surfaces, so that the visible surfaces of the links are tangent to each other. others, so that no day appears between the links, regardless of their relative position.
In this patent, the rigid links had, on one of their sides, a head and, on their other side, a hooking lip curved in the shape of an arc of a cylinder and extending over more than 180 °.
The object of the present invention is to produce a bracelet of the kind mentioned at the start which has the same advantages as that described in patent No. 623215, that is to say in which the visible surfaces of the different links are tangentially connected to one another. to others without any space remaining between them, and while allowing these links to be produced in the form of collections of two different types having one two attachment heads and the other two attachment lips, which makes it possible to achieve symmetrical links.
For this purpose, the bracelet according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises links with two articulation heads and links with two hooking lips, the links of the bracelet being alternately of a type and of the other.
Two embodiments of the object of the invention will be described below, by way of example, with reference to the drawing in which FIGS. 1 to 3 are schematic views showing the profile of the elements of the first and of the second embodiment.
In fig. 1, a first embodiment of the bracelet according to the invention is seen. This bracelet consists of links, directly
articulated to each other, of two different types. The links there,
2a, 3a and 4a are of the first type, i.e. with two lips
hooking while the intermediate links 1b, 2b and 3b are
links of the second type with two articulation heads. The links
of the first type each have a central part, lips
attachment 5 which are parts of constant thickness, curved
in an arc so as to delimit, with the sides 6 and 7 of the
part 3, two cylindrical housings 8 and 9.
Type b links also have a central part
trale 10 and, on either side of this central part, heads
1 1 and 12 of cylindrical shape, attached to part 10
by connecting zones 13. The central part 10 includes a
inner bead 14 which is limited on each side by a portion of
cylinder arc surface, also coaxial with the articulation head
corresponding and connected to this head by a limiting surface which
extends in an S-shape and connects to the cylindrical surface of the head.
On the outside, elements 1b, 2b and 3b are limited by
flat surfaces 15, 16 which extend opposite the sides 7 and 6 of the
links la, 2a adjacent and which constitute with these flanks
abutment surfaces.
As seen in fig. 1, the distance between the heads
11 and 12, that is to say the space left free between these two articulation heads which extend opposite one another beyond
from the top of the bead 14, is twice the thickness of the
fastening tabs 4 and 5, so that when the lips
for attaching the links la and 2a are each engaged on one
articulation heads 12 or 11, their outer surfaces are contiguous. Each of the links 1a and 2a can pivot around the axis
hinge head 12 or 11, while the outer surfaces
hooking lips remain in contact with each other and tangent to one another. As seen in the drawing, the links are symmetrical with respect to a median plane.
The relative position of the three links, located at the right end and designated by 3a, 3b and 4a, shows the minimum radius of curvature that the bracelet can take. Only the central surfaces of the hooking lip links 1a, 2a, 3a and 4a are visible from the outside. These are curved surfaces which join tangentially to the outer surfaces of the lips.
The manufacture and assembly of the links shown in fig. 1 can be made exactly as described with regard to the identical link bracelets of patent No 623215. These elements can also be made either of plastic, or of a metal such as brass, nickel silver or even steel, or also of a precious metal such as For, silver or their alloys. Preferably, the manufacturing method applied will be stretching. It is however possible, after having cut the profile elements into short length segments in order to make the links, take these elements back on a lathe or a milling machine to machine the elements which will ensure the blocking in the direction of the axis of the heads. joint.
In fig. 2, we again see the central part of a bracelet made up of two different types of links, the links 17a, 17b and 17c and the links 18a and 18b. The links 17a, 17b and 17c are links with hooking lips curved in the shape of a cylinder arc, while the links 18 are links with articulation heads. The attachment lips 19 and 20 of the link 1 7a have the same arrangement and the same shape as the attachment lips 4 and 5 of the link 1a, while the two articulation heads 21 and 22 of the link 18a are arranged and arranged like the articulation heads 12 and 11 of the link lb.
On the other hand, the central part of the link 18a is strongly swollen and has a projection 23 whose sides 24 and 25 are surfaces in the shape of an arc of a cylinder coaxial with the articulation heads 21 and 22 and situated at a distance from the lateral face of these joint heads which is equal to the thickness of the attachment lips 19 and 20. Thus, as seen in FIG. 2, when the articulation heads 21 and 22 are engaged in the cylindrical arc housings delimited by the hooking lips 20 and 19 of two links 17a and 17b for example, the curved external face of the bulge 23, which appears at the outside of the bracelet, is connected by rounding 25 and 26
tangentially to the central surface of the elements 1 7a and 1 7b. In fact, the attachment lips 19 and 20 are engaged with a small stake in housings delimited by surfaces 25 or 24. Of course, the attachment lips 19 and 20 extend in an arc of a circle at an angle greater than 180, so as to mechanically hang the heads 21 and 22 in the manner of a ball joint. The maximum angle between the sides 27 and 28 of the link 18a and between the sides 29, 30 of each of the links 17a and 17b is achieved when the hooking lip 20 or 19 is fully engaged in the notch or housing delimited by the sides 24 and 25 of the link 18a.
In the other direction, the extreme position is obtained when the sides 27 and 29 are in contact with each other and when the same is true for the sides 28 and 30 of the parts 18a and 17a.
This relative position is achieved for the two links 18b and 17c, while there is the other extreme position with the links 17d, 17e and 18c (fig. 3).
Of course, other variants can also be envisaged with regard to the shape of the various links, also with regard to the appearance of the visible surfaces, their structure and their shape. In particular, the aesthetic effects obtained by different surface states, as described in patent No. 623215, can also be obtained with the embodiments described above.
