  • Automatic Embroidering For Embroidered Or Tufted Products (AREA)

Abstract

The floor covering includes a pile surface (50) carried by a primary backing (51), an anchoring layer (52) which links the pile to the primary backing, a secondary backing (54) consisting, at least partially, of fibres and an elastic foam layer (53) interposed between the secondary backing and the anchoring layer. Although the secondary backing is linked directly to the foam, its external surface lies entirely outside that of the foam, so that the foam is virtually hidden. This result is obtained by stretching the foam in the wet state on the primary backing fitted with pile and with the anchoring layer, by laying down the secondary backing onto the wet foam layer without external pressure and then by heating the whole assembly in order to vulcanise the foam. <IMAGE>
