PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A method for air humidification and subsequent air cooling by evaporation, characterized in that air is blown under a body floating on the water and having a flat lower surface, whereby the body is lifted from the water surface according to the body weight and the air pressure generated, whereby by the air flowing through creates water eddies which permanently wet the underside of the body, so that the air flowing through absorbs moisture from the wetted underside of the body and the water surface and is appropriately humidified and then cooled by evaporation.
2. Device for performing the method according to claim 1, characterized in that the body is designed as a plate and is roughened, corrugated, grooved or provided with a layer of porous material to enlarge the wettable area on the underside.
3. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the body is a plate, and that the weight of the same as well as the air pressure and the air path below the plate are chosen so that the latter is given a pulsating movement.
4. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the plate is made of porous material or is provided with holes.
5. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the plate consists of fabric or forms a film or a plate with joints.
The present invention relates to a method for air humidification and subsequent air cooling by evaporation.
The previously known methods of air humidification by evaporation - the effect of air cooling is not important in these processes due to the small humidification performance - usually work as follows: a) Stable sheets or plates of water-absorbent porous material (e.g. blotting paper) are placed in a water container partially submerged. The part of these leaves or plates protruding from the water is therefore always moist. By means of a fan, air is pushed through the moist material protruding from the water or blown past it.
The air absorbs moisture.
b) a wheel covered with a belt made of porous material (e.g. open-pored foam), which partly protrudes into a water container, is set in a slow rotating motion.
In this way the tape is permanently wetted. From the inside of the wheel, air is pressed outwards by the wetted belt and this absorbs moisture as it flows through the belt.
The methods described have u. a. the following disadvantages: a) Due to the small thickness - due to the pressure behavior of the fan - of the porous sheets, plates, ribbons - the contact time of the air flowing through with the wetted material is short and accordingly the moisture absorption is small, b) calcification when operated with normal tap water the wetted materials - depending on the hardness of the water - relatively quickly and this further reduces the humidification performance.
The present invention aims to significantly increase the humidification of the air through evaporation - whereby the cooling performance with regard to the use for air cooling becomes very important - and to eliminate the dependency of the humidification performance on limescale deposits on apparatus parts.
The method according to the invention for air humidification and subsequent air cooling by evaporation is characterized in that air is blown under a body floating on the water and having a flat lower surface, whereby the body is lifted from the water surface according to the body weight and the air pressure generated the air flowing through creates water eddies which continuously wet the underside of the body, so that the air flowing through absorbs moisture from the wetted underside of the body and the surface of the water and is appropriately humidified and cooled by evaporation.
Depending on body weight and air conditions, the body can start pulsing, which increases the wetting of the underside of the body and consequently the humidification performance is increased.
The air can e.g. B. be blown from the middle or from the side under the body. The air duct should be designed so that the air covers the longest possible path from the air inlet to the air outlet between the underside of the body and the surface of the water. The body can be designed as a plate and roughened, grooved or provided with a layer of porous material to enlarge the wettable contact surface.
Instead of a rigid plate, for. B. also find a film or a plate with joints use.
The invention is then explained, for example, with reference to the drawing.
The figures show: FIG. A a device for carrying out the method in a first embodiment, FIG. B a second embodiment of the device.
In a water container 1, a body 2 designed as a plate floats on the water surface. Under this plate, air is blown from the middle (FIG. A) or from the side (FIG. B) with the aid of a fan 3. This air flows through between the wetted underside of the plate and the water surface and absorbs moisture. The humidified and cooled air exits through one or more outlet openings in the cover 5. The connection from the fan 3 to the plate 2 is established by a flexible hose 4 or a bellows 4, so that the plate 2 always rests on the water in the same way, even when the water level changes. To protect the water from contamination, an air filter 6 can be installed in the air inlet.
