Abstract

The method, applicable particularly to printers of the offset lithographic and type printing sort, consists in squeezing a film of ink between an inking cylinder (2) made from a soft material and a wiper rod (7) of very small diameter applied under pressure against this inking cylinder, the thickness of the film of ink being adjusted and kept constant regardless of the rotational speed of the inking cylinder by controlling the temperature of the ink and hence its viscosity. The device for implementing the abovementioned method further comprises an ink pad formed by two lateral cheeks (4) between which there extends a horizontal member (5) interacting with the rod (7) in order to press the latter against the inking cylinder (2), as well as means for adjusting the temperature of the ink. <IMAGE>
