Abstract

It comprises a foraminate inner layer (2), made of elastomer, which has a multiplicity of holes (4) bounded by mutually connected members (3). A layer of fabric (5) is applied to one face (6) of the foraminate material (2) while a layer of fabric (7) is applied to the other face (8) of the said material. These layers (5 and 7) are made of knitted elastic fabric and are applied by means of layers of adhesive (40 and 30) respectively. The elastic elongation limit of the layers of fabric (5 and 7) is lower than that of the inner layer (2) so as to protect the latter against the risks of rupture. This material, intended especially for the manufacture of undergarments, must provide a strength and an elasticity which are sufficient while being at the same time thinner and lighter in weight than the previous materials of the same strength and elasticity. <IMAGE>
