Description
Fig. 2 einen Schnitt nach Linie II-II in Fig. 1,
Fig. 4 einen Schnitt nach Linie IV-IV in Fig. 3.

**WARNUNG** Ende DESC Feld konnte Anfang CLMS uberlappen**.
Wallpaper-like, heat and sound insulating wall and ceiling coverings with a foam base layer and a cover sheet made of a plastic film or fabric sheet are known. Such thermally insulating and sound-absorbing layer combinations are made air-permeable by means of simple, straight stitching seams and allow relatively limited air circulation and the escape of wall moisture and keep walls or ceilings dry due to the stitching line channels formed. Such coverings are soft and elastic, which is very disadvantageous when laying on the wall or ceiling, since a clean mutual adaptation of the butt sides and thus an exact closure of the butt joints cannot be achieved.
In the absence of a lack of stability and the resulting possibility of warping the known coverings, their butt joints are irregular and therefore visible to the eye, which is unaesthetic. In addition, the flame resistance of such covering bodies is in no way provided. The air circulation channels are V-shaped, usually cross each other and are formed by drawn-out, straight stitching seams. Before laying, the tiles are rolled up and have to be cut into lengths according to the respective conditions. If the quilting seam is hit during cutting, it loosens and the air circulation channels deform, which leads to damage and costly material losses.
The present invention relates to a heat and sound insulating wall and ceiling covering, which differs from the previous insulation coverings for walls and ceilings in that a flexible, air-permeable cover layer, a base layer made of a flexible foam sheet and one between them with fine perforations provided, thin metal middle layer are intimately connected to one another by lamination, the top layer, the base layer and the middle layer forming a stiffened, flame-retardant, air-permeable covering body, the abutting edges of which have a dimensional stability that causes the butt joints to close.
According to a particularly advantageous method for producing the wall and ceiling covering, a flexible cover layer is laminated on its back with a metal foil, then perforated by means of a roller fitted with punching elements and then glued to the base layer.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject of the invention are shown, namely show:
1 shows a plan view of a first embodiment of the covering,
Fig. 2 is a section along line II-II in Fig. 1,
3 shows a plan view of a second embodiment of the covering and
FIG. 4 shows a section along line IV-IV in FIG. 3.
The wall and ceiling covering shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a flexible, air-permeable cover layer 1 with fine perforations. This can consist of a polyvinyl chloride film, synthetic leather or flocked velor as soft as velvet or weatherproof with a flexible PVC carrier.
This flock velor PVC cover film is particularly durable and flame-retardant.
It forms a type of velor produced by electrostatic flocking of a PVC film, which has an excellent insulation value due to the even hair trimming on the PVC carrier. This type of velor absorbs sound and stores heat at the same time. The particular suitability of this velor on PVC film for insulation coverings is not yet known in the application for wall and ceiling coverings and is of great importance in terms of fire safety thanks to its flame-retardant property.
The wall and ceiling covering shown is also provided with a base layer 2 made of plastic foam. 3 denotes a metal insert located between the cover layer 1 and the base layer 2, glued to the latter, which is preferably an aluminum foil or can also be thin foam aluminum. The metal foil has high tensile strength and high thermal conductivity and, together with the top layer 1 and the base layer 2, forms a flexible, but stronger covering of relatively high stability, respectively. Stiffness. The metal foil is not very thin and easily deformable, but has a certain strength, which gives the abutting edges dimensional stability.
With the help of parts 1, 2 and 3, a clean, invisible closure of the butt joints resulting from laying the covering is achieved, which is retained even if the adhesive bond of the base layer to the wall or ceiling decreases.
The non-combustible metal foil 3, as an excellent heat carrier, on the one hand preserves the heat content and on the other hand influences the sound insulation to a large extent.
The metal foil 3, which is intimately connected to the cover layer 1 and the base layer 2, respectively. is laminated, makes air entry difficult and contributes significantly to flame retardancy. The stabilization of the covering, additionally effected by the metal foil 3, facilitates the laying on walls or ceilings.
The production is expediently carried out in such a way that the rear side of the cover layer 1 is first laminated with the metal foil 3, i.e. H. be connected by an adhesive. Then the cover layer 1 and the metal foil 3 by means of a roller equipped with punching elements with fine, through holes 4, respectively. 4 'provided, which ensure good transpiration of the base layer 2 and the escape of wall moisture. The perforated cover layer 1 laminated with the metal foil 3 is then connected to the foam base layer 2 in a known manner by means of an adhesive.
In the case of thick base layers 2, these are provided at evenly spaced intervals with air circulation holes 5 which are larger in diameter in relation to the holes 4, 4 '(FIGS. 3 and 4), which promote breathing of the insulation covering.
The metal foil 3 is expediently made of aluminum, which is particularly suitable because of its light weight and freedom from rust; it is practical to have a thickness of 0.1 to 0.5 mm in order to guarantee the necessary flexibility, form, tensile and impact strength.
