**WARNUNG** Ende DESC Feld konnte Anfang CLMS uberlappen**.
The invention relates to a connection and holding device for a generally rectangular ceramic or glass substrate in layered circuit technology arranged on at least one of its large surfaces circuit configurations, in which for the electrical connection of the layered circuit and for the mechanical connection of the substrate to a carrier plate Contact elements comprising the edge of the substrate and having an approximately tulip-shaped clamping contour in cross-section and consisting of stamped sheet metal parts are provided and the contact elements are provided with connecting posts which can be inserted into bores in the carrier plate.
Such a connection and mounting device is known from DT-Gbm 7 404 505, for example. In this known connection fitting for modules, the connecting posts of the contact organs used run parallel to the large surfaces of the substrate, so that, with the help of the contact members stretched onto an edge of the substrate, it is possible to insert the connecting posts into bores in a carrier plate, the substrate perpendicular to the To connect the course of the carrier plate with this, whereby a particularly space-saving arrangement of such substrates on a carrier plate can be achieved.
As a result of the ever increasing miniaturization of the components of electrical engineering z. B. attenuators used in communications engineering for level adjustment are created with optionally adjustable attenuation values using ceramic or glass substrates and resistive layers arranged thereon in layered circuit technology, whereby the problem arises of being able to interconnect the individual resistive layers in a simple manner according to the desired attenuation value. In an attenuator known from DT-AS 2 113 490, the individual resistance layers are switched on and off with the aid of switching devices like rotary switches, which interact with metal strips which, in turn, are in contact with the individual resistance layers of a ceramic substrate.
The movement of sliding contacts directly over contact tracks arranged on the substrate is usually prohibited because of the rapid wear and tear of such sliding contacts caused by the substrate material.
The object of the invention is therefore to develop a connection and holding device of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that with such a device it is possible in a simple manner to switch on and off resistance layers of the substrate connected to the contact elements.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that at least one of the legs of the contact organs forming the tulip-shaped clamping contour is extended beyond the area of the clamping contour to a contact arm which protrudes several times over this area and extends parallel to the substrate surface at a defined distance and that the free ends the contact arms are provided with a receiving contour suitable for inserting a wire bridge.
The invention also relates to a use of this device in an attenuator.
With the help of such a designed connection and mounting device, it is advantageously possible, for. B. to create an arrangement of damping elements consisting of resistive layers with damping resistors that can be switched on and off, which is extremely space-saving and easy to use.
In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that only one of the legs of the contact organs is extended to the contact arm and that the contact organs are plugged onto the substrate edge alternately with the contact arm on one side and on the other side of the substrate.
This configuration of the connection and mounting device makes it possible, with a suitable arrangement and contacting of the resistance layers on the substrate, to connect two adjacent contact arms on one side of the substrate for switching on and on the other side of the substrate for short-circuiting, i.e. for switching off to use an attenuator, whereby the respective switching state of the attenuator can be determined immediately, and taking into account a grid spacing of approx. 2.5 mm of the connecting posts still to obtain a relatively large distance of 5 mm between the contact arms on each side of the substrate, which the wiring of these contact arms with wire bridges is much easier.
In addition, with the help of bends provided on the connection posts, it is possible to keep the contact organs connected to contact arms on one side of the substrate by a cross bar connecting the connection posts of the contact organs, even when the contact members are plugged onto the substrate, since this cross bar is due to the angled positions of the connection posts is offset with respect to the cross bars of the other contact organs and therefore the cross bars cannot interfere with one another.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to a figure.
The figure shows, greatly enlarged and seen in an oblique view, a ceramic substrate 3 with a rectangular outline provided on one of its large surfaces 1 in a known manner using layer circuit technology with resistance layers 2.
On a longitudinal edge 4 of the ceramic substrate 3 an approximately tulip-shaped clamping contour having contact organs 5 are plugged in the grid spacing of the bores of a carrier plate, not shown (approx. 2.5 mm), which grasp areas of the ceramic substrate close to the edge 4 with their clamping legs. Connection electrodes 6 of the resistance layers 2 provided in these areas are therefore contacted by the contact organs 5, and the contact organs are fixed on the substrate 3 by soldering at least one of their legs to the connection electrodes 6. In the plane of symmetry of a clamping contour of the contact organs 5, connecting posts 7 protruding therefrom can be inserted directly into bores of a carrier plate, not shown, and soldered to lines of this carrier plate.
In each case one of the legs of the clamping contour of the contact elements 5 is extended beyond the area of the clamping contour to form a contact arm 8, and runs parallel to the substrate surface at a defined distance with the aid of an angled portion 9 provided between the clamping contour and the contact arm. The free ends 10 of the contact arms 8 are fork-shaped. In addition, the contact elements 5 with the contact arms 8 are plugged onto the substrate in such a way that a contact arm 8 of the contact elements 5 is located alternately on one side and on the other side of the substrate 3. Thus, about 5 mm long wire bridges 11 can be inserted at the ends into the U-shaped receiving contour of the contact arms 8 created by the fork of the free ends 10 of the contact arms 8 on each side of the ceramic substrate 3 and soldered there.
With the aid of conductive connection paths 12 provided on the substrate, the resistance layers 2 are interconnected so that e.g. the resistance layers 2a and 2c form series resistances of a T-member and the resistance layer 2b connected to their connection point form the transverse resistance of a T-member. In addition, one of these connecting paths 12 connects the resistance layer 2c to a further resistance layer 2 of a T-element arranged adjacent to the substrate 3, so that the series resistances of all the T-elements arranged on the substrate 3 are connected in series. The free ends of the resistors 2a, 2b and 2c of each T-member are each connected to connection electrodes 6 which are connected to the contact arms 8a, 8b and 8c.
In addition, a contact element 5 with a contact arm 8d, which is plugged onto the substrate 3 in an isolated manner, is assigned to each T-member. The contact members 5 with the contact arms 8d of all T-members arranged on the substrate are connected to one another z. B. connected by a conductor track of a carrier plate, not shown, and form one pole of both the input and the output of a

Damping four-pole is connected to the contact element 5 connected to the contact arm 8a to think, while the other pole of the output is formed by a contact element, not shown, located at the other end of the substrate, which corresponds to the contact element 5 with the contact arm 8c.
The insertion of a wire bridge 11 between the contact arms 8a and 8c therefore has the short circuit through the
Resistance layers 2a and 2c formed resistances and thus a bridging of the T-member with the layers 2a,

This is important because the transverse webs 15 or 13 together with the angled sections 14 of the connecting posts can only be separated from the connecting posts 7 when the contact members 5 are soldered to the connecting electrodes 6 of the substrate 3 assigned to them, since the transverse webs during a soldering process, which is usually an automated production step, ensure that the contact organs 5 cannot leave the place on the substrate intended for them.
