The present invention relates to a gas lighter with a plastic tank, the interior of which is in flow connection with a burner via an outlet valve, the outlet valve and burner being combined in a valve body.
With gas lighters of this type, as is well known, when the burner nozzle is opened, the high flow rate and the expansion capacity of the escaping gas result in great cold effects on the burner, which leads to the burner nozzle icing up after only a few seconds of burning time, since the plastic tank is not in is able to effectively dissipate the cold. This process then quickly leads to a flickering of the flame and after about 10 seconds to the escape of burning liquid gas particles. Subsequently, such a lighter is no longer ignitable or combustible until the nozzle is defrosted.
Attempts with metal inserts in the wall of the plastic tank have not resulted in any significant improvements.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide an effective remedy here.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the valve body is carried by a metal web above its point of passage into the plastic tank, which metal web forms a temperature control bridge to a metal body firmly connected to the plastic tank.
By means of these measures it is now possible to compensate the temperature drop generated on the valve body by dissipating the temperature via the temperature control bridge to the metal body, which is a heat exchanger, to such an extent that an icing temperature is avoided in any case.
If, in a first embodiment, the metal body representing a heat exchanger is a cover hood covering the burner, the heat exchange effect or the ability to dissipate cold is increased in that the cover hood is directly under the effect of the heat radiation of the ignited flame.
In contrast, in another embodiment, the metal body represents. with which the metallic web is firmly connected, represents an outer lighter housing, then the heat exchange effect or the ability to dissipate cold is improved by the body heat of the user.
In addition to all this, there is still a significant manufacturing advantage in that the plastic tank no longer has to be provided with the difficult-to-attach thread for winding in the valve body, since the valve body is now carried by the metal web and is conveniently threaded there.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, which shows a section of a lighter with a plastic tank in cross section.
The gas lighter shown schematically and in detail comprises a plastic tank 1 which encloses a liquid gas. This plastic tank 1 is in flow connection via a riser pipe 2 and a valve seal 3 with a valve body 4, which valve body 4 comprises an outlet valve and a burner tube 5. The design of the outlet valve and its actuation means can be of any desired type and are not illustrated here in greater detail, since these means are irrelevant for understanding the present invention.
It is essential that the valve body 4 has an external thread 6 with which the valve body 4 is threaded into a metallic web 7 which extends above the valve passage point of the plastic tank 1.
This web 7 forms part of a metallic cover 8 which covers the burner 5.
As the illustration shows, the covering hood 8 is firmly connected to the plastic tank 1, for example by the adhesive point 9.
As an embodiment variant, the web 7 can also be part of a metallic lighter outer housing 10, as is indicated in the illustration by the dash-dotted lines.
As can be easily seen, the formation of the web 7 carrying the valve body 4 is a heat or Cold conduction bridge formed to the cover 8 or to the outer housing 10, which is suitable to effectively prevent icing on the burner.
Apart from this, the above-described measures also achieve a manufacturing advantage in that a female thread for winding the valve body 4 can be made in the web 7 in a much simpler and more durable manner than in the plastic tank 1.
