The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of reactive disperse dyes of the formula (1)
EMI1.1
where R3 is hydrogen or alkyl,
R2 is hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or optionally substituted phenyl, where R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen atom can also form a 5- to 7-membered heterocycle,
R3 hydrogen or alkyl,
R4 is an alkyl radical (C, -C6) substituted by halogen in the a- or a- and, B-position or an α,-unsaturated alkenyl radical which can be substituted by halogen in the α- or β-position,
A is an alkylene radical optionally interrupted by 0 or S or a cycloalkylene or phenylene radical,
X hydrogen, chlorine, bromine,
Cyan or COLORS and R5 are alkyl.
Fiber-reactive dyes are to be understood as meaning those which are able to react with the hydroxyl groups of cellulose or with the amino groups of natural or synthetic polyamides to form covalent chemical bonds. The fiber-reactive disperse dyes according to the invention are particularly suitable for transfer printing onto polyamide.
The substituents Rt, R2, R3 or R5 in the meaning of an alkyl group can be identical or different, straight-chain or branched, in particular they are low molecular weight alkyl groups with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, such as methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, tert-butyl or to alkyl groups with a longer chain, such as hexyl, octyl, decyl or dodecyl. R2 represents in the meaning of a cycloalkyl group in particular the cyclohexyl group and in the meaning of an aralkyl group above all the benzyl or phenethyl group.
Preferably R1 and R3 are hydrogen and R2 is alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or cyclohexyl.
If Rt and R2 together with the nitrogen atom form a 5- to 7-membered hetero ring, it is z. B. around the piperidine, pyrrolidine or morpholine radical.
If R2 is a phenyl radical, it can contain substituents, but the following are particularly suitable: alkyl groups such as methyl, ethyl or isopropyl, alkoxy groups such as methoxy or ethoxy, acylamino groups such as acetylamino or benzoylamino, and halogen atoms such as chlorine or bromine.
The fiber-reactive dyes of the formula (1) are prepared by adding an anthraquinone compound of the formula (2)
EMI1.2
in which R1, R2, R3, A and X have the meaning given under formula (1), with one of the reactive groups
EMI1.3
introducing acylating agent converts.
The anthraquinone compounds of the formula (2) are known and can be prepared by methods known per se.
The acylating agents used are anhydrides or halides, in particular the chlorides or bromides, of aliphatic ones
Carboxylic acids of the formula R4COOH, where R4 is the under
Formula (1) has given meaning into consideration. Examples include chloroacetic anhydride, acrylic anhydride, or the
Chlorides or bromides of chloroacetic acid, acrylic acid, meth acrylic acid, crotonic acid or av "B-dibromopropionic acid.
The acylation can be carried out in a manner known per se.
They are expediently carried out using acid-binding agents
Agents such as sodium carbonate, potassium acetate, sodium hydroxide or organic amines such as tetraethylene diamine, triethyl amine, tributylamine, triethanolamine or pyridine, advantageously in inert organic solvents.
Examples of suitable inert organic solvents are:
Acetone, dioxane, methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, chlorobenzene, tri chloroethylene, tetrachloroethane or dimethylformamide.
The reaction is preferably carried out at a low temperature, the choice of the appropriate temperature being the first
Line depends on the starting materials and the acylating agent. It is advantageous to work at temperatures between 20 and 80 "C.
It is often advantageous to use a slight excess of the acylating agent used.
The procedure for the preparation of the new dyes is as follows: The anthraquinone compound of the formula (2) is dissolved in part of the solvent and placed in a reaction vessel together with an acid-binding agent. The acylating agent, dissolved in the remaining part of the solvent, is then slowly added dropwise, either cooling or heating slightly, depending on the reactivity of the mixture. After a reaction time of 1 to 3 hours with constant stirring, the acylation is complete. The dye obtained is isolated either by distilling off the solvent or by crystallization by z. B. other solvents or water can be added to the reaction mixture.
The dyes according to the invention are suitable for dyeing and printing a wide variety of fibers, especially organic fibers, such as. B. of polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, polyurethane fibers, also of fibers made of linear hochmolelcularen esters of aromatic polycarboxylic acids with polyhydric alcohols, such as. B. of polyethylene glycol terephthalate or poly (1, 4-cyclohexanedimethylol) - terephthalate fibers, of polymers and copolymers of acrylonitrile and asymmetric dicyanethylene, but especially of natural and synthetic polyamide fibers, both pure wool or pure superpolyamides, as well as their Mixed fabrics with one another, as well as mixed fabrics with other synthetic or natural materials.
The fiber material can, provided the appropriate devices are available, in any form, for example in the form of flakes, sliver, yarn, textured threads, woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, nonwovens made of fibers, tapes, belts, textile floor coverings, such as woven needle felt carpets or sheets of yarn, which can be in the form of webs or cut or fabricated, but can also be printed or dyed according to the invention as foils.
The dyeing of the fiber materials mentioned with the sparingly water-soluble, fiber-reactive anthraquinone dyes according to the invention is carried out from an aqueous dispersion. It is therefore advisable to finely divide the disperse dyes of the formula (1) by grinding with dispersants and possibly with other grinding aids.
Since the dyes according to the invention are fiber-real and at the same time sublimable, they are excellently suited for transfer printing. The transfer printing process can, for example, be carried out as follows with the dyes according to the invention. Printing inks containing at least one advantageously finely divided fiber-reactive disperse dye of the formula (1), optionally a binder stable below 230 ° C., water and / or an organic solvent are applied to an inert carrier and dried, then the treated side of the carrier is also applied brought into contact with the surface of the organic material to be colored, on top of which the carrier and the material to be colored, optionally under mechanical pressure, a heat effect of 150 to 230 C,
advantageously 170 to 210 C, for 2 to 60 seconds, subjected and the colored material separated from the carrier.
Very good results are also obtained by taking
Vacuum of preferably 2 to 150 torr transferred. Very short transfer times of around 3 to 15 are then sufficient
Seconds at temperatures of 130 to 200 C.
The inert intermediate or auxiliary carrier required for dry thermal transfer, i.e. H. a carrier that has no affinity for the dyes that can be used is expediently a flexible, preferably spatially stable sheet-like structure, such as a tape, strip or film with an advantageously smooth surface, which is heat-stable and can consist of a wide variety of mainly non-textile materials, e.g. . B. metal, such as an aluminum or steel foil, or an endless belt made of stainless steel, plastic or paper, which is optionally covered with a film of vinyl resin,
Aethylcellulose, polyurethane resin or Teflon can be coated.
In addition to the new fiber-reactive disperse dyes, the printing inks that can be used according to the invention also contain, if necessary, at least one binding agent stable below 230 ° C., which acts as a thickener for the printing batch and as an at least temporary binding agent for the dye on the substrate to be printed. Synthetic, semi-synthetic and natural resins are suitable as binders of this type, namely both polymerization and polycondensation and polyaddition products. In principle, all resins and binders commonly used in the paint and printing ink industry can be used. The binders should not melt at the transfer temperature, should not react chemically in air or with themselves (e.g.
crosslink), contain no acidic reacting groups, have little or no affinity to the dyes used, but simply hold them on the printed area of the inert carrier without changing them, and remain completely on the carrier after the thermal transfer process. Preferred binders are those which are soluble in organic solvents and which dry quickly, for example in a stream of warm air, and form a fine film on the carrier.
Suitable binders which are soluble in water include: alginate, tragacanth, carubine (from locust bean gum), dextrin, more or less etherified or esterified plant mucilage, IX: hydroxyethyl or carboxymethyl cellulose, water-soluble polyacrylamides or, above all, polyvinyl alcohol, and as soluble in organic solvents Binding agents Cellulose esters, such as nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate or butyrate, and in particular cellulose ethers, such as methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, benzyl, hydroxypropyl or cyanoethyl cellulose, as well as mixtures thereof.
The dyes dispersed in the printing ink should mainly have a particle size of 10 µm, preferably c2 µm.
In addition to water, practically all water-miscible and water-immiscible organic solvents or solvent mixtures which boil at atmospheric pressure at temperatures below 220 ° C., preferably below 1500 ° C., and for the dyes and binders to be used, are used for the production of printing inks Have solubility or emulsifiability (dispersibility) in question.
Examples of useful organic solvents include the following: aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, for example n-heptane, cyclohexane, petroleum ether, benzene, xylene or toluene, halogenated hydrocarbons such as methylene chloride, trichlorethylene, perchlorethylene or chlorobenzene, nitrated aliphatic hydrocarbons such as nitropropanes , aliphatic amides, such as dimethylformamide or mixtures thereof, and also glycols, such as ethylene glycol or ethylene glycol monoalkyl ethers, such as ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, diethyl carbonate, dimethyl carbonate or esters of aliphatic monocarboxylic acids, such as ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate, methyl ethyl acetate, propylaliphatic acetate, butyl acetate, methyl ethyl acetate, for example, cycloethyl acetate, aliphatic aliphatic acetate, methyl ethyl
Methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, isophorone, mesityl oxide or diacetone alcohol and alcohols such as methanol, n-propanol, iso-propanol, n-butanol, tert-butanol, sec-butanol or benzyl alcohol and preferably ethanol; Mixtures of the solvents mentioned, such as e.g. a mixture of methyl ethyl ketone and ethanol in a ratio of 1: 1 to 1:25.
Particularly preferred solvents are esters, ketones or alcohols boiling below 1200 C, such as butyl acetate, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol or butanol.
The desired viscosity of the printing inks can be adjusted by adding the binders mentioned or by diluting with water or a suitable solvent.
The liquid, pasty or dry dye preparations according to the invention generally contain 0.1 to 80, advantageously 1 to 40 percent by weight of at least one or more of the fiber-reactive disperse dyes according to the invention for liquid preparations and 10 to 80 percent by weight for dry preparations, and optionally 0.5 to 50 percent by weight of a binder, based on the total weight of the preparation, and can be used directly or after dilution as printing inks which can be used according to the invention.
To improve the usability of the printing inks, optional components such as plasticizers, swelling agents, high-boiling solvents such as e.g. Tetralin or decalin, ionic or non-ionic surface-active compounds, such as, for example, the condensation product of 1 mol of octylphenol with 8 to 10 mol of ethyl aoxide, can be added.
The dye preparations that can be used according to the invention or
Printing inks (solutions, dispersions, emulsions) are produced by methods known per se by dissolving or dispersing the fiber-reactive disperse dyes which can be used according to the invention in water and / or solvents or solvent mixture, advantageously in the presence of a binder stable below 2300 ° C.
The optionally filtered printing inks are applied to the inert carrier, for example by spraying in places or over the whole area, coating or, expediently, by printing.
After the printing inks have been applied to the inert carrier, they are dried, e.g. B. with the aid of a warm air stream or by infrared radiation, optionally with recovery of the solvents used.
If the auxiliary carrier is printed, a wide variety of printing processes can be used, such as letterpress printing (e.g.
Letterpress, flexographic printing), gravure printing (e.g. roller printing) or screen printing (e.g. rotary printing, film printing).
The Transter is carried out in the usual way by the action of heat. For this purpose, the treated auxiliary carriers are brought into contact with the textile materials and kept at 120 to 230 ° C. until the disperse dyes applied to the auxiliary carrier have been transferred to the textile material. Usually 3 to 60 seconds are sufficient.
The exposure to heat can take place in a number of known ways, e.g. by passing through a hot heating drum, a tunnel-shaped heating zone or by means of a heated roller, advantageously in the presence of a pressure-exerting, unheated or heated counter-roller or a hot calender, or also by means of a heated plate (warm press), optionally under vacuum, which is produced by steam, oil , Infrared radiation or microwaves are preheated to the required temperature or are in a preheated heating chamber.
After the heat treatment has ended, the printed goods are separated from the carrier.
The printed goods do not require any aftertreatment, neither steam treatment to fix the dye, nor washing to improve the fastness properties.
The problem of achieving strong, wet and lightfast dyeings and prints on polyamide and its mixtures with synthetic and natural fiber material by the thermal transfer process while maintaining the optimal mechanical fiber properties is practically solved with the help of the new fiber-reactive dyes. The prints obtainable by the new process are characterized by sharp, fine line contours.
In the following examples, which do not limit the invention, the parts and percentages relate to weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
example 1
3.1 g of 1-ethylamino-4-ss-hydroxyethylaminoanthranone are dissolved in 50 ml of dimethylformamide and 1 ml of pyridine. Thereupon 2.56 g of chloroacetic anhydride, dissolved in 5 ml of dimethylformamide, are added dropwise at 0 to 5 within 15 minutes. After 30 minutes the temperature is increased to 20-25. The reaction is allowed to continue for another 2 hours at this temperature. After the addition of 50 ml of methanol and 50 ml of water, the dye of the formula crystallizes

Example 39
2 g of the dye obtained in Example 1 are dispersed in 4000 ml of water. To this dispersion, 12 g of the sodium salt of o-phenylphenol and 12 g of diammonium phosphate are added as swelling agent and 100 g of yarn made of polyethylene glycol terephthalate is dyed for 1½ hours at 95 to 98 ". The dyeing is rinsed and treated with aqueous sodium hydroxide and a dispersant.
This gives a washable and lightfast blue coloration.
