Fig. 4 eine Sicht auf das Mühlengehäuse,

The invention relates to a spice mill with a grinder located in a housing and a spice container.
Since spices in powdered form decrease in their freshness and taste with prolonged storage, it is common to put them in spice mills in order to grind the spice in question in the required amount immediately before use. For this purpose, table mills are offered in the trade, but they prove to be disadvantageous because, on the one hand, they are difficult to open and, furthermore, can only hold a small amount of spices and therefore have to be refilled frequently.
The object of the invention is to create a spice grinder which can hold a large amount of spice grains and is designed so that it can be opened quickly and easily and can also be easily placed on a spice container such as are commonly available on the market .
In the following, the invention is explained in more detail with reference to drawings that illustrate an embodiment:
1 is a perspective view of the assembled mill,
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the mill, with the outer grinding body removed,
3 shows a perspective view of the ring-shaped outer grinding body,
4 shows a view of the mill housing,
5 shows a side view of the complete mill including the container with the spice lying therein.
The mill housing 1 shown in the drawing is made of plastic or some other suitable material.
Passages 2 extend through the housing 1, beginning at the periphery of a frusto-conical grinding rotor 3 provided with helical teeth, which is rigidly connected to the bottom of the housing 1 and which forms part of the assembled mill. The other part consists of an annular part 4 with molars or notches 5 on the inner circumference (Fig. 3). These molars or notches 5 form two rows one above the other. The upper row of teeth during the operating state of the mill is larger than the row of teeth below and is used to coarsely crush the spice grains in order to facilitate the subsequent fine crushing between the smaller teeth and the teeth of the grinding rotor 3. The ring-shaped part 4 coaxially surrounds the grinding rotor 3 with a small clearance.
In the clearance there are cavities which are arranged either on the inside of the annular part 4 or on the outside of the grinding body 3 or on both in order to ensure that the spice grains can get between the teeth. The grinder is mounted on top of the spice container 9 and is fed with spice grains as soon as the spice container 9 is turned upside down. In order to prevent the spice grains from accumulating in the spice container when they are fed into the mill, so that an excessive amount of force would be required to rotate the mill, a plate 6 is attached to the tip of the grinding rotor 3. With this plate 6, which has indentations 7, it is achieved that only as many spice grains can get into the mill as can pass through the indentations.
The number of indentations 7 can, as shown in FIG. 1, be limited to two, but also, for. B. be three or four indentations. The plate 6 forms an axial support for the annular part 4. The annular part 4 has a concentric groove on the outside, in which a sealing ring 8 made of elastic material is supported. This
Sealing ring 8 is used to keep the mill housing 1 sealed in the Ge spice container 9 due to the frictional force.
When the complete device, consisting of the grinder and the spice container 9, is turned upside down and the housing 1 is rotated relative to the container 9, the grinding rotor 3 rotates within the annular part
4 and pulverizes the spice grains between the teeth of the
Grinding rotor 3 and the teeth 5. The annular part 4 is due to the positive connection with the neck of the
Spice container 9 secured against rotation.
The spice grains get from the spice container 9 into the indentations 7 of the plate 6 and are detected by the grinder. The plate 6 prevents overfilling
Spice grains and the clogging of the grinder. The powdered spice goes through the passages 2 and emerges at the opposite end at the tip of the mill housing 1, which is directed downwards during the grinding process. After use, the pepper mill is placed on the bottom of the spice container 9. The sealing ring
8 should consist of a material that is sufficiently elastic to ensure a non-positive connection of the two parts despite an internal thread that can be located in a spice container.
