0,1- 3% Schaumbildner
1 -10% Orthophosphor-Säure 85%
30 -70% Mono-Aethylenglykol
20 -50% Isopropyl-Alkohol

The present invention relates to a flux for soldering, in particular a flux which is suitable for use in automatic soldering systems.
When soldering printed circuit boards, a flux must be applied to the solder side of the board in order to achieve a good solder. This flux should be able to make even slightly oxidized soldering surfaces solderable, to enable the soldering of different metallic materials, as they occur in the various components of an assembled circuit board, whereby a low soldering temperature and a short soldering time should be aimed for to protect the components . The flux should be chemically stable in the interest of a long service life. It is also said to be completely water soluble so that it can be removed by a simple washing process after soldering. Furthermore, the flux should be halogen-free so that any residual flux that may still be present after washing does not cause corrosion.
Various fluxes are commercially available, each meeting some of the above conditions, but not all of them. It is therefore an aim of the present invention to provide a flux which meets all of the above conditions simultaneously.
The inventive flux for soldering is characterized in that it contains at least: an ester of orthophosphorous acid and mono-ethylene glycol, a foaming agent, orthophosphoric acid, mono-ethylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol, deionized water and a stabilizer.
The production of an embodiment of the invention will now be explained in more detail. The following equipment is required to produce the flux: - Vacuum distillation system - Mixing vessel - Agitator
The following chemicals are required: - Mono-ethylene glycol - Orthophosphoric acid - Isopropyl alcohol - Glycol-phosphate ester - Deionized water - Foaming agent - Cyclic aromatic - Stabilizer
For the production of the flux, an ester of orthophosphoric acid and monoethylene glycol must first be produced in a vacuum distillation system, whereby the formation of high molecular weight esters must be avoided.
The reaction runs according to the formula: C2H6O2 + H3PO4e C2H5PO4 + 2 H2O
When the ester has been prepared, the following chemicals are mixed in a stainless steel or glass vessel with stirring:
0.1-3% foaming agent
1 -10% orthophosphoric acid 85%
30-70% monoethylene glycol
20-50% isopropyl alcohol

<tb> rest <SEP> I <SEP> <SEP> deionized <SEP> water
<tb> <SEP> an aromatic <SEP> compound
<tb> <SEP> stabilizer

After all chemicals have been added, the stirring process is continued for a few minutes. The flux is ready for use after a rest period of 24 hours.
