la fig. 1 est une vue en perspective du dispositif selon la première forme d'exécution;
la fig. 2, une vue en coupe du bracelet de la fig. l par un plan perpendiculaire à la direction du bracelet;
The present invention relates to a device for fixing a bracelet to a watch case, in which the bracelet has an opening engaged on a central part of the case above and beyond which extends a lateral part. projecting, said central part being engaged and fixed in said opening.
Swiss memorandum No. 2551/67 already describes a device of this kind in which a flexible metal fabric strap has a circular opening engaged on the central part of the case and a retaining ring is driven out on said central part, behind the case. opening of the bracelet.
Devices are also known in which the watch can be fixed in the opening of the bracelet without it being necessary to add any additional element, but then the watch must have an unusual shape requiring an abnormal construction of the movement. or else the bracelet itself must have in its central part retaining elements which prevent the use as a bracelet of a strip of continuous thickness in which a simple opening is made.
The object of the present invention is to further simplify the construction of devices of this type and to allow their use with wristbands which are as inexpensive as possible.
For this, the device according to the invention is characterized in that the central opening of the bracelet and the central part of the case are of the same shape, not circular, and are adjusted to each other, said opening being limited. at least partially by elastically deformable bracelet elements and in that said central part has projecting retaining elements ensuring the fastening of the bracelet to the case.
This arrangement also has the effect of preventing the watch from rotating around the axis of the opening of the bracelet when it is attached to the latter, this drawback not always being entirely eliminated in the context of previously known devices. .
Two embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown in the accompanying drawing, of which
fig. 1 is a perspective view of the device according to the first embodiment;
fig. 2, a sectional view of the bracelet of FIG. l by a plane perpendicular to the direction of the bracelet;
fig. 3, a perspective view of the second embodiment, and
fig. 4, a bottom plan view of the device according to the second embodiment.
We see in fig. 1 a watch case 1 of which I melt 2 has a central part 3 which projects downwards. The general shape of the box 1 is rectangular although, alternatively, this box can also be square. The central part 3, which extends back from the side faces of the box 1, is also of the same shape as the box. The bottom 2 has between the central part 3 and its periphery an annular shoulder 4 which constitutes a flat surface portion closed on itself. The angles of the central part 3 of the box are rounded and in the two side faces which correspond to the longest sides of the rectangle, two grooves 5 and 6 of the same shape and of the same depth are formed, limited by two side edges 7 and 8 that forms the central part 3 of the box.
The manufacture of a bottom 2 having this shape does not present any difficulties and the central part 3 can be hollowed out inside to receive the movement.
The upper part of the case is then formed by a caseband-bezel bearing a glass. The seal between the back and the caseband is at the upper level of the back and it is at this level that the winding stem passes.
The bracelet which is intended to be fixed to the box 1 is made of a single piece of plastic material, for example polyvinyl chloride, thick enough to have a certain resistance to distortion.
This unique piece comprises two symmetrical branches 9 and 10 connected together by a portion 11 in the form of a frame comprising four rectilinear sides, the dimensions of which are adjusted to those of the periphery of the projecting part 3 of the box. This frame 1 1 will preferably be thinner than the branches 9 and 10 and will thus be able to deform elastically without it being necessary to exert great efforts on the bracelet.
On the other hand, the two branches 9 and 10 which both end in free ends (not shown in the drawing) have sufficient rigidity to ensure, thanks to their resistance to deformation, the connection of the watch to the wrist. of the wearer.
Transverse grooves spaced from each other and facilitating deformation can be provided in the branches 9 and 10 of the bracelet. Of course, the branches 9 and 10, and in particular their upper faces, may be provided with a decoration or decorative fittings of any appearance and dimensions.
We see in fig. 2 the lateral sides of the frame 1 1 engaged in the grooves 5 and 6 and held in place between the shoulder 4 of the bottom 2 and the edges 7 and 8.
In the second embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the branches 9 and 10 of the bracelet are of the same construction as those of FIG. 1. On the other hand, the frame 12 is circular in shape and limits a central opening which comprises two rectilinear parts 13 and 14 diametrically opposed and two parts in an arc of a circle 15 and 16 connecting the rectilinear parts 13 and 14.
The central part 17 of the box is limited laterally, in this embodiment, by a cylindrical face 18, the diameter of which corresponds to that of the rounded portions 15 and 16 and in which two grooves with a flat bottom 19 and 20 are made (fig. . 4), the plans that
define the bottom of these grooves being parallel and corresponding to the rectilinear sides 13 and 14 of the opening of the frame 12.
We see in fig. 3 that the groove 19 delimits a flange 21 for retaining the frame 12. The same applies to the opposite side for the groove 20.
Here also the installation of the box on the bracelet (9-10) is carried out by engaging the part 17 in the opening of the frame 12. The rectilinear parts 13 and 14 engage in the grooves 19 and 20, and secure it while preventing the watch from rotating.
The shoulder 4 of the box 17 is circular in shape. 11 hides the frame 12 as in the first embodiment.
It has been found that the fixing means described made it possible to produce wristwatches at an extremely low price. The bracelets can be produced from inexpensive plastics, for example polyvinyl chloride, in one piece; as for the bottom of the watch cases, they can be entirely machined independently of the bracelet by rational means:
In particular, the absence of horns considerably facilitates the manufacture. Attaching the strap to the watch does not require any added component. It is done very quickly and at the same time is completely safe.
