Abstract
The versatile post (11) for temporary guard rail fencing, is for use on construction sites, and comprises a tubular member with an adjustable 'G' clamp appended to the base. The post may have 'U' brackets with locking screws. The brackets are mounted at vertical intervals to accommodate rails. The post may have a short square basal return. The return acts with an 'L' shaped (12, 20) telescopically adjustable post insert to form the clamp jaw (18, 19) supports. The top jaw (18) may be mobilised by a screw. Alternatively the 'L' shaped basal projection may have a pin-joint just above the bar or at some greater distance from the bar (20).
Description
La fig. I montre, en perspective, un certain nombre d'éléments de l'ensemble assemblés pour former une barrière de protection provisoire d'un palier et d'un escalier;
Building construction and civil engineering safety regulations require contractors to put up temporary safety barriers on all construction sites where workers or bystanders are at risk of falling.
These barriers are therefore essential during the construction of terraces, balconies, stairs, bridges, etc., in concrete in particular since a certain time generally passes between the pouring of the concrete and the installation of the final barriers. .
There is currently no equipment on the market for quickly and rationally mounting temporary safety barriers.
The known equipment is heavy, bulky, not very rational, quickly out of use, and, moreover, expensive to manufacture and to maintain.
The present invention, which aims to fill this gap, consists of a set of elements making it possible to quickly assemble, using unspecialized labor, temporary protective barriers, which can be dismantled and reused.
This assembly is characterized by the fact that it comprises tubular elements of a first type intended to constitute the body and the upper part of the uprights, these elements comprising support means for cross members, tubular elements of a second type , in one part or in two articulated parts, intended to engage telescopically in the elements of the first type and to constitute the lower part of the uprights, means making it possible to make the two types of elements integral and to adjust their length, jaws mounted on said elements so as to form on each upright, at the base thereof, a clamp for fixing to a construction element.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. I shows, in perspective, a certain number of elements of the assembly assembled to form a temporary protective barrier for a landing and a staircase;
fig. 2 is a perspective view of an upright with a fixed jaw base element:
fig. 3 is a close-up perspective view of a detail of a base element with an articulated jaw:
fig. 4 is a view similar to FIG. 3 of a variant of a base element with an articulated jaw.
The barrier shown in fig. 1 is constituted by uprights 10 each formed of two tubular elements of square sections telescopically engaging one in the other. These elements are of two types: main elements 11, forming the body and the upper part of the uprights, basic elements 12 forming the lower parts of the uprights. Holes 13 and a pin 14 make it possible to adjust and fix their lengths.
The main elements are provided with hooks 15 serving as supports for cross members 16 (boards, tubes, etc.) held in place by clamping screws 17.
The barrier has a horizontal section corresponding to the landing, and an inclined section corresponding to the staircase.
The uprights are fixed to the ground by vices whose jaws 18 and 19 are mounted respectively on the elements 11 and 12. The jaws 18 are movable.
The basic elements 12 are of two kinds: those which are intended for uprights fixed to slabs whose two faces are parallel (landing), and those which are intended for uprights fixed to slabs whose lower face is inclined ( staircase).
The first are in one piece (fig. 2), the second in two pieces (fig. 3), one sliding in the base element and the other carrying the jaw 19, and being articulated to the first of so as to be able to adapt to the inclination of the underside of the slab.
In the variant of FIG. 4, the articulated part 20 of the element is itself in two tubular pieces mounted telescopically one inside the other, a pin 21 engaging in holes 22 to allow the length of this articulated part to be adjusted and fixed. .
CLAIM
Set of elements making it possible to construct temporary protective barriers, characterized in that it comprises tubular elements of a first type intended to constitute the body and the upper part of the uprights, these elements comprising support means for the uprights. sleepers, tubular elements of a second type, in one part or in two articulated parts, intended to engage telescopically in the elements of the first type and to constitute the lower part of the uprights, means making it possible to make the two types integral elements and adjust their length, jaws mounted on said elements so as to form on each upright, at the base thereof, a clamp for fixing on a construction element.
