Fig. 2 das Werkzeug allein im Aufriss,
Fig. 3 das Werkzeug im Grundriss,
Fig. 4 das Werkzeug in der Seitenansicht,

The invention relates to a tool for unscrewing the valve seats of internal combustion engines.
The invention is intended to solve the problem of being able to manufacture valve seats for internal combustion engines on drilling machines very efficiently and precisely.
The invention with which this problem is solved is characterized in that it is designed as a U-shaped holder, with a cutting plate carrier protruding from the central web, to which a cutting plate is rigidly connected, the cutting edge of the cutting plate has a shape corresponding to the finished shape of the valve seat and the whole is formed in one piece.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention:
1 shows a view of the unscrewing device with an inserted tool,
2 the tool alone in elevation,
3 shows the tool in plan,
4 shows the tool in a side view,
5 shows a guide mandrel inserted into a guide bush of an engine block for the unscrewing device,
6 shows a section through a completely machined valve seat including valve plate.
The turning device 1 according to FIG. 1 contains a cone 2, preferably a Morse cone, which is intended for releasable insertion into the spindle of a machine tool, in particular a stationary drilling machine.
Below the cone 2 there is a thread on which a rotatable adjusting ring 3 is seated. This presses with its lower end face against a sleeve 4 seated on a cylindrical mandrel. The sleeve 4 is provided with milled cutouts at the bottom, in which two parallel legs 6 of a tool 8 come to rest. The lower support surface 9 of the tool 8 rests against a ring 10. When the adjusting ring 3 is released, the tool 8 can be moved easily in the direction of the double arrow A; When the adjusting ring 3 is tightened, however, the tool 8 is fixed in its relative position.
A bore 12 extends from the lower end face 13 of the unscrewing device to approximately the upper third of the cone 2.
The tool 8, which forms a single piece and the shape of which is shown in FIGS. 2-4, consists of a U-shaped holder 11, a cutting insert carrier 14 protruding from its central web 13 and a hard metal cutting insert 15 soldered onto it. The end face 16 of the The cutting tip 15 forms an angle of 900 to the lower support surface 9 of the parallel leg 6 and is located exactly in the longitudinal center plane E, which passes through the axis of rotation of the turning device 1. The cutting edge 18 of the cutting plate 15 is profiled so that it corresponds exactly to the finished shape of the valve seat to be produced. The middle part of this cutting edge 18 has, for example, an angle of 450 to the support surface 9 of the parallel legs 6.
This results in a particularly stable design of the tool, which is important for the chatter-free machining of valve seats. As can be seen from FIG. 6, this middle part of the cutting edge 18 results in the actual support or seat surface 21 for the valve disk 20.
This middle part is followed by an upper phase 22 and a lower phase 23, each of which has an angle deviating from the support surface 21. The cutting edge 18 of the cutting insert 15 is ground in such a way that all three surfaces 21, 22, 23 can be finished in one operation. So there are no multiple knives required. The seat shown in Fig. 6 is only to be understood as an example; the shape of the seat surfaces can also be designed differently depending on the valve. So that small valve seats can also be machined, there is a recess 28 in the ring 10, into which the cutting insert carrier 14 can be inserted.
The cutting plate 15, which is made of hard metal or other material of comparable hardness, rests against a shoulder of the cutting plate carrier 14, the soldering joint 17 forming an angle of approximately 450 to the support surface 9 of the parallel legs 6.
To process a valve seat 25 is in a sleeve 26 of an engine block; which normally receives the valve stem, a slightly conical guide pin 27 is inserted so that it is held free of play in the bore. Thereafter, the unscrewing device 1 is pushed onto this guide mandrel 27, the guide mandrel 27 engaging in the bore 12 and the unscrewing device 1 being rotatable relative to the latter without play. Thereafter, the turning device 1 used in a drilling machine is set in rotation by a motor drive and the valve seat 25 is machined.
It is possible to provide a flexible or movable holder or an intermediate piece above the tool in such a way that the rotary drive does not need to be precisely aligned with the guide mandrel 27.
