Fig. 8 einen dritten Behälter in Seitenansicht.

The invention relates to a method for filling powdery material into a container made of flexible material which is provided with a filling opening at its upper end, as well as an expanding device for carrying out the method.
When filling powdery contents into containers, especially into small containers as they play a major role in the household and in medicine, difficulties often arise, which are mainly due to the turbulence of the displaced air and its tendency. to remain partially in the product and to remove product particles with it. Often the material losses caused in this way are not as serious as the dust deposits in the environment and the limitation of the filling speed and / or the filling level. Modern filling machines allow very high dispensing speeds for the filling material, but these can by far not be exploited, particularly in the case of small containers, because of the difficulties mentioned.
In order to improve this degree of utilization and to facilitate the filling of powdery contents into containers, various measures have already been taken, but none of them have been fully satisfactory. A filtering of the displaced air is z. B.
effective only as long as the filter is still permeable and requires periodic maintenance. A certain advance has been achieved in that the container has been set in rotation about its vertical center axis during filling. But even this method has not yet delivered optimal results. especially for powders with a fine grain size and small containers.
The object of the invention is to create a container of the type mentioned at the beginning, which does not have the disadvantages of known designs.
Accordingly, the invention relates to: a) a method for filling powdery goods.
which is characterized in that a container is used, the interior of which is enlarged prior to filling by means of an expanding device which acts on at least one container wall. leaves it in this form during filling and returns it to its original shape after filling; and b) a device for carrying out the aforementioned method. which is characterized in that it has a base plate from the surface of which at least two rigid projections protrude upwards, in such a way that the latter engage in the bellows folds at the bottom of the container with elastic expansion of the same when the container is placed on the base plate.
Such a container allows it, regardless of the filling process used in each case. that the cone of the product spreads out better and / or that the displaced air can escape with less turbulence. In addition, the degree of filling maintained during filling can be kept lower in the interest of a higher filling speed, since it is increased accordingly when the container is returned to its original shape as a result of the associated volume reduction of the interior. The effort required to enlarge the interior space is low. since the expanding device can also be designed as a self-centering clamping device, which is required anyway during filling. This applies in particular to the filling process in which the container is set in rotary motion around a vertical axis.
Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Show it:

FIG. 2 shows the container of FIG. 1 in side view.

5 shows a second container in side view.

7 shows the container of FIGS. 5 and 6 in plan view and
8 shows a third container in side view.
The container of Figs. 1 to 3 has approximately the shape of a rectangular area and is at its upper end with a filler neck 1. whose central axis coincides with the vertical th central axis 3 of the container, is provided. It is made in one piece from an elastic material, e.g. B. made of polyethylene, and is used in the present case as a Zer dust container for the not shown. powdery filling good. As FIGS. 2 and 3 show. two of its opposite side parts are designed like bellows.
The bellows folds 5 run on the sides parallel to the central axis 3. wherein the bellows folds of one side part with the
Bellows folds of the other side part are each connected to one another by a transverse fold 7 at the bottom of the container. This creates a construction reminiscent of a bellows.
It is essential here that the interior of this container can be enlarged by widening the bellows folds using some kind of expanding device. This can, as FIG. 3 shows. by exercising a pull (suction cup 9th claw
11) or pressure (flat pressure plate 13, profiled pressure plate 15) on the side parts.
In terms of process engineering and construction, however, it is particularly advantageous if, in order to enlarge the interior of the container, one does not act on the side parts, but on the transverse folds 7 on the bottom of the container of FIGS. 1 to 3.
Fig. 4 shows a particularly preferred expanding device for this purpose. This has a base plate 17, from the surface of which at least two, in the present case four, mutually parallel ribs 19 with a triangular profile protrude upwards. When placing the container on the base plate 17, as is necessary in any case before each filling process. the ribs 19 engage in the associated transverse folds 7. If the two outer ribs 19 are now at a greater distance from one another than the two outer transverse folds 7, the latter are automatically widened accordingly when the container is placed on the base plate 17.
As FIG. 4 shows, this widening is also transferred to the bellows folds 5 of the two side parts, so that the interior of the container is like when opening a bellows. but is enlarged without additional devices with moving parts and without further measures. On the contrary, the expanding device still fulfills the function of a clamping device and holds the container firmly in its position during filling. The pressure (arrow in Fig. 4) required for the container to be firmly attached is exerted by the filling head of the filling machine. which must be placed firmly on the filler neck 3 of the container anyway for the reliable filling of powdery material. If the container is set in rotation during filling, the base plate 17 represents the turntable with the central axis 3 as the axis of rotation.
The ribs 19 then simultaneously fulfill the function of a centering device, although they are still supported by stops (not shown). z. B. by two transversely to the ribs 19 ribs. need to be supported. Nothing stands in the way of making a recess in the base plate 17 to reliably delimit the expanded container, as is indicated in FIG. 4 with broken lines. The further transport of the filled container is not hindered by this, since after filling the pressure exerted in the direction of the arrow is released, the container automatically returns to its original shape and lifts itself out of the recess due to the loosening of the engagement between the ribs 19 and the transverse folds 7.
The second container of FIGS. 5 to 7 has approximately the shape of a cube with rounded corners, and a filler neck 103 protrudes upward from its top. The central axis of the latter also coincides with the vertical central axis of the container. Each of the four side walls of the second container has a circular central section 21 which is concave in the starting position shown and which is delimited by an annular bead 23 which is also concave. The latter gives the middle section 21 snap properties.
As FIG. 6 shows, when a force is exerted (push or pull), the central portion 21 reaches a second position, shown with broken lines, in which it is convexly bulged outward. The interior of the container is enlarged in a defined manner, specifically by n times the amount of the lens-shaped space 25, where n is the number of central sections 21. In practice, it is expedient to proceed in such a way that the interior of the container is expanded by pressing the filler neck 103 gas-tight against the mouthpiece of a compressed air line before filling, and leaving it in this position during filling. After the filling and sealing, the middle sections 21 must then be returned to the starting position shown, which is most easily done by applying pressure from the outside in the opposite direction to the direction of the arrow.
The concave middle sections 21 of the filled container snap back into their starting position. Not only are they decorative elements, they also make the container easier to grip. Such a container is particularly suitable as a spreader container. For its self-centering clamping during filling, a recess 27 can be made on the bottom wall of the container (FIG. 6). To achieve the desired snap action of the middle section 21, the concave annular bead 23 can also be replaced by a line of weakness.
The third container in FIG. 8 is designed as a bellows, which, however, in contrast to the first container, is rotationally symmetrical and in which the bellows folds 205 run transversely to the central axis. In the case of this container, too, its interior space is enlarged if the bellows folds 215 are expanded by means of any expansion device.
This can e.g. B. be done by train by means of a pair of claws 211, which engages under a mouth bead 201 surrounding the filling opening. However, each pulling device requires that the lower part of the container is held, e.g. B. by means of a dovetail groove. The expansion by lateral pressure on the container, the z. B. takes place by means of two diametrically opposite smooth pressing jaws 213 or profiled pressing jaws 215. For the two projections 219 of the profiled pressing jaws 215, the same conditions apply analogously as for the two outer ribs 19 of the expansion device of FIG. 4. The third container of FIG. 8, like that of FIGS. 1 to 3, is suitable as an atomizing container.
The base plate, not shown, can also be designed as a turntable for the rotary movement of the container during filling, for which this container is particularly suitable because of its rotational symmetry. Furthermore, with a suitable choice of material, such a container can be expanded to such an extent that the turbulence of the displaced air that occurs during filling is reduced to a minimum.
