The invention relates to a method for mixing two media of the same or different state, in particular for introducing a gaseous medium into a liquid medium, and also relates to a device for carrying out the method.
The aim of the present invention is to carry out the actual mixing process of, for example, two liquids or a liquid and a gas or a liquid and a solid, for example in powder form, without moving parts and with good efficiency, and instead one of the working methods for this purpose among other things, previously known institutions to develop a method that differs significantly.
For introducing a gaseous medium into a liquid, such as when ventilating, in which rotating propeller wheels that are held floating on the surface of the water throw the volume of water sucked in, mixed with air, centrifugally outwards. Such centrifugally operating systems are also used for the treatment of liquid manure in order to promote the necessary chemical process in this before it can be given to the meadow or the field.
These centrifugally operating systems have several disadvantages, including: a. the very strong foam formation in wastewater and liquid manure, which often makes it necessary to use additional devices to break up and remove the foam. When treating liquid manure, further disadvantages are the considerable loss of nitrogen, insufficient oxidation, the change in the pH value in the direction of acid and the non-removal of the odor compounds. In addition, these known devices are quite expensive and heavy structures.
A system operating centripetally in contrast to the mode of operation of these known devices enables the aforementioned disadvantages to be eliminated, so that with minimal foam formation, the nitrogen loss is very low, the pH value is balanced and the oxygen uptake is optimal and the odor compounds are also negligible. These advantages of a centripetal ar working system, mentioned here only as examples, are the result of a working method directed from the outside towards the center, as the expression implies, which is used in the present invention.
This therefore proposes a method for mixing two media of the same or different state, which is characterized according to the invention that a first medium is passed under pressure from the side into a narrowing pipe, into which a nozzle coaxial to the pipe axis from the closed furthest pipe end protrudes, through which a second medium is sucked in and introduced into the first medium as a result of the static pressure prevailing at the nozzle end, which is lower than the external pressure.
The device for carrying out the method is characterized according to the invention by a narrowing pipe that is closed at the furthest end and a nozzle extending into this from the closed pipe end coaxially to the pipe axis and by at least one extending transversely to the pipe axis and into the one from the outer wall of the nozzle and the Inner pipe wall limited and in the axial direction narrowing annular space laterally opening into the supply line. In a preferred embodiment, the feed line opens tangentially into the annular space within the pipe.
Two feed lines are preferably provided which open tangentially into the annular space at diametrically opposite points and in opposite directions, and these two feed lines are expediently of different sizes in their clear cross-section, so that different flow velocities are achieved, which leads to an even better effect within the pipe . So that the medium flowing in under pressure is directed in the axial direction of the pipe, the feed lines are expediently arranged in such a way that they enclose an angle with a plane perpendicular to the pipe axis and thus open into the annulus at an angle. The narrowing tube is expediently shaped so that the contour of the wall is hyperbolic in the longitudinal section.
Appropriately, the narrowest pipe cross-section is followed by a diffuser which converts the velocity energy back into pressure energy and which is immersed in the liquid, which is preferably pumped through the pipe, and which distributes the liquid leaving the diffuser in a radial direction.
The negative pressure prevailing at the nozzle end, which sucks in the second medium through the nozzle, can be varied by exchanging nozzles with different dimensions.
Further details and advantages of the invention emerge from the following description and the drawings, in which a preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown purely by way of example.
Show it:
1 shows a longitudinal section through the device according to the line I-I in FIG. 2,
FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the device according to FIG. 1,
FIG. 3 shows a section of the feed pipe branch on a larger scale compared to FIG.
The device shown in FIGS. 1-3 for mixing two media of the same or different state has a narrowing tube 1, the wall of which is hyperbolic with the exception of the part at the furthest tube end where the tube is closed by an end wall 2. From the end wall, a nozzle 3 fastened in this replaceably protrudes into the pipe 1 coaxially to the pipe axis.
Two feed lines 4 and 5 open tangentially into the pipe 1 at the furthest end, enclosing a small angle with the plane perpendicular to the pipe axis, so that the medium flowing in through the feed lines flows into the pipe 1 in a slightly downward direction. The medium is fed from a pump, not shown in the drawing, through a supply line 6 with a corresponding larger cross-section and through a pipe branch 7 to the supply lines 4 and 5, the supply line 4 tapering from the pipe branch 7 in a section at 8, so that the medium in this feed line has a higher speed than the medium flowing through the feed line 5. The different speeds cause a certain bipolarity in the pipe 1, which positively supports the mixing process.
As a result of the tangential inflow of the medium at diametrically opposite points according to FIG. 2 from the left and from the right, the medium receives a swirling movement on its way down through the pipe 1 as indicated by the arrow A at the end of the dashed line. The linear speed of the medium as well as the number of revolutions as a result of the twisting movement are constantly increasing on the way through the narrowing pipe. At the lower end of the nozzle 3 there is therefore a lower static pressure than the external pressure, so that a second medium is sucked in through the nozzle 3 and mixed with the first medium. At the lower end of the pipe 1, at the point of the narrowest pipe cross-section, a diffuser 9 is connected, through which the velocity energy is converted back into pressure energy and the outflow direction is given a radial component.
The medium flowing in through the supply lines 4 and 5 can be a gas or a liquid, while the medium sucked in through the nozzle 3 can be a gas, a liquid or a solid medium, for example in powder form. If a liquid is treated, for the ventilation of which air is sucked in through the nozzle 3, the lower end of the tube dips up to a line lying within the area B, the distance of which from the end of the tube may vary depending on the circumstances Circulation of liquid pumped through the supply lines. The process of mixing can be carried out one or more times in this way.
The device is suitable not only for the production of mixtures, but also for homogenization and also generally for fumigation, in particular for ventilation, with oxidation processes or reduction processes taking place depending on the media used, which can be decisively influenced in this way.
One field of application for the device is, for example, the treatment of liquid manure which is pumped in circulation through the device, whereby it is aerated. In contrast to the previously known methods with centrifugal operation, this device achieves significant advantages, which in particular consist in the fact that there is little foam formation, which leads to great difficulties with the conventional methods, that furthermore, minimal nitrogen losses, sufficient oxidation values, balanced pH values and no unpleasant odor compounds are recorded.
Furthermore, this construction is a lightweight, portable construction compared to the previously known ones for this purpose, which does not depend on gravity in its mode of operation, but also works in an inclined installation position, and whose production costs are ultimately significantly lower than comparable devices of the conventional type.
