Abstract

The plastic bottle cap has a stopper to which a cylindrical sealing plug is joined. The sealing plug (2) comprises an upper wall (7), to which a centring cone (8) is joined. The walls of the hollow stopper (1) and the centring cone and sealing wall can be distorted in the sideways direction. The grip has a concentric outer closing sheath (3) fitting over the lip of the bottle mouth. The sheath is formed of a flexible tube and encloses with the sealing wall a hollow chamber above the bottle mouth edges. There can be a rib (11) on the inside of the tube end, engaging underneath the lip (5) of the bottle mouth.
