The present invention relates to a plug connection device with a check valve and a connection nipple, preferably to a plug connection for air pressure lines, this connection being lockable without a threaded nipple and unlockable with a handle. In general, pipe connections are locked and sealed by means of threaded nipples, whereby on the one hand a key is required for tightening and on the other hand there is the risk that the thread can be covered and destroyed.
From the Swiss patent specification 442 900 a pipe connection is also known in which a connection nipple is provided which has an annular groove in which a locking segment chuck engages, which in turn can be unlocked by a release sleeve which is longitudinally displaceable on the nipple shaft. This pipe connection is relatively complex and requires, among other things, two spring washers.
It is the aim of the present invention to provide a connector which on the one hand is made up of simple parts and therefore can be easily assembled and manufactured and the valve housing is sealed after the nipple has been pulled out.
This object is achieved by a plug connection device which is characterized in that the valve housing contains a locking insert which holds an elastic sealing ring in place and is provided with elastic tabs and conical barbs, the closing part of the valve being composed of a ball and a spring stands, and that the connection nipple has an annular groove with a locking edge and a freely displaceable unlocking ring plugged onto this groove, so that when the connection nipple is inserted into the valve housing, the sealing ring is pressed against the tapered part of the connection nipple and the barbs engage in the locking edge, and that this firm and tight connection can be released by pushing the locking ring against the valve housing,
wherein a conical part of the unlocking ring acts on a conical design of the barbs and pushes them apart, whereby the connection nipple is released while the ball of the check valve is pressed against the sealing ring.
In the following, the invention will be explained, for example, with reference to a drawing, the single drawing showing a plug connection between a connecting nipple and a valve housing with a check valve.
You can see a valve housing 1, a check valve consisting of a spring 2 and a ball 3, an elastic sealing ring 4 and a locking insert 5, which has elastic tabs 6 and barbs 7 with conical formations 8 and is preferably made of plastic. The connection nipple 9 has a tapered part 10, an annular groove 11 with a locking edge 12 and, for the connection of a generally flexible pipe, a connection part 15, a thread 16 with a clamping screw closure 17 that fits thereon. On the annular groove 11 there is a freely displaceable unlocking ring 13 with a conical surface 14, this ring preferably being made of plastic. This ring 13 is cut open so that it can be attached later.
The assembly is very easy. First, the spring is placed in the valve housing, then the ball, and then the sealing ring follows, whereupon the locking part 5 is pressed in until the bead 18 engages in the recess 19 of the valve housing and holds the insert, whereby the
Sealing ring 4 is held and thus the check valve. Now all that remains is to put the unlocking ring on its slot on the ring groove of the connection nipple and the entire connector is fully assembled.
There are various options for connecting the pipes
Systems possible. In the present embodiment, the hose is slipped over the connection part 15 and fastened with the clamping screw closure 17. It is of course also possible to hold the hose firmly by means of a clamp. To connect or fasten the valve housing, a thread and a union nut are generally provided thereon.
This plug connection is designed in such a way that it is just as suitable for an air pressure line as it is for a vacuum line.
