Abstract
The tool holder (1) has a bore forming a cone shaped seating for the spring collet (2). The nose (2a) of the collet also provided a similar seating for the tightening nut (3) screwed on the outer diameter of the tool holder. An annular groove (2b) is machined in the collet, at the apex of the cones and a matching recess (3b) is machined in the inner face of the nut. This recess is fitted with a ring type spring (4), open ended and with a lip across one end forming a segment of a circle. This lip locates in the collet groove and locks collet and nut together.
Description
La fig. 1 est une coupe longitudinale;

The invention relates to an assembly comprising a collet and a nut equipped with an extraction means projecting into a peripheral groove of the collet.
Various more or less complicated extraction means have already been proposed, which serve to disengage the collet from an internal cone of a collet holder member (such as a spindle, a tool holder).
The invention aims to provide an extraction means which is simple and which does not complicate the machining of the nut.
For this purpose it is provided, according to the invention, that said extraction means is a spring ring seated in an internal peripheral groove of the nut and provided on a part of its periphery with a rim which projects into the peripheral groove of the clamp.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention. In this drawing:
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section;
fig. 2 is a side view of the extraction ring, and
fig. 3 is a section taken along line III-III of FIG. 2.
Reference numeral 1 denotes a collet holder member which may be a spindle or a tool holder body, for example; this member 1 has an internal cone receiving a collet 2; it also has an external thread onto which is screwed a nut 3 serving mainly to tighten the clamp 2 in the cone of the member 1, this nut having, as usual, an internal cone 3a which, during tightening, acts on an anterior conical surface 2a of the collet 2.
Between its thread and its internal cone 3a the nut 3 has an internal peripheral groove 3b in which is seated, with a small axial play, an extraction ring-spring 4. This is provided on part of its periphery - preferably at one of its ends, as can be seen in FIG. 2 - a ledge 4a. This rim projects into a peripheral groove 2b formed in the clamp 2 between the two cones. It is easy to see that if the tightening nut 3 is unscrewed, this rim '4a exerts pressure on the front wall of the groove 2b so that the clamp 2 will be released from the cone of the member 1.
As can be seen in FIG. 3, the end 4b of the spring ring 4 which is opposite to that which has the rim 4a is cut at an angle at 4c. When the nut 3 is removed, it is thus possible to engage the tip of a tool 5 (such as a screwdriver) between this end 4b and the bottom of the groove 2b, then to grip this end with a suitable pliers , if you want to remove the extraction spring ring 4.
CLAIM
Assembly comprising a collet and a nut equipped with an extraction means projecting in a peripheral groove of the clamp, characterized in that said extraction means is a spring ring seated in an inner peripheral groove of the nut and provided on a part of its periphery with a rim which projects into the peripheral groove of the clamp.
