Abstract

Compressible tube comprises a laminated inner tube consisting of >=1 synthetic resin forming a thin wall highly resistant to oil and water and a low permeability to oxygen, water vapour and odours. An outer protective tube consists of synthetic resin having sufficient elasticity to recover its original shape after being compressed. The two tubes are closed at their lower ends, and fixed to the neck of the tube body at their upper ends so that the neck opening, to which is removably attached a closure device, communicates only with the interior of the inner tube. The laminated resin comprises a layer of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, and two layers of polyethylene disposed on both sides of the first layer.

Description

The present invention relates to a squeezable tube, as described in main patent No. 561639.

According to the claim of the main patent, the squeezable tube is characterized in that it has a double wall and comprises a body provided with a neck, and a closure member arranged to be able to be removably attached to the neck, in that the body is provided with an inner tube in laminated layers comprising at least one synthetic resin forming a thin wall, this wall being highly resistant to oil and water and having very low permeability to oxygen, water. water vapor and odor, and an outer tube surrounding the inner tube to protect it and made of synthetic resin of sufficient elasticity to allow the outer tube to return to its original shape after it has been pressed, the inner tubes and exterior being closed at their end constituting the bottom and attached to the neck at their opposite end,

so that the orifice of the neck communicates only with the interior of the inner tube.

In a particular embodiment of this tube, the laminated layers comprise a layer of polyvinyl alcohol.

It has been found that the polyvinyl alcohol layer used in the synthetic resin laminate can be replaced by a copolymer of vinyl alcohol. This vinyl alcohol copolymer has the advantage over polyvinyl alcohol of being insoluble in water. A squeezable tube comprising a layer of this copolymer has increased water resistance.

The tube according to the present invention is characterized in that the laminated layers comprise a layer of vinyl alcohol and ethylene copolymer and two polyethylene layers deposited on all of the faces of the first layer.

   CLAIM

Squeezable tube according to the claim of the main patent, characterized in that the laminated layers comprise a layer of vinyl alcohol and ethylene copolymer and two polyethylene layers deposited on all the faces of the first layer.
