Injection syringe
The subject of the invention is an injection syringe, comprising a plastic body containing a piston having a push button at one end and a cylindrical part with a circular groove provided with a seal at the other end, characterized in that said seal completes an outer part of massive shape able to move slightly and freely in the groove of the piston in the radial direction and in the longitudinal direction and ensuring by its elasticity continuous contact of its outer part with the wall of the syringe body and a second part, connected continuously to the first, but more flexible and lighter and coming into continuous contact with one of the walls of the groove in an elastic manner, so that at rest, the liquid cannot bypass the seal ,
but in the event of overpressure this elastic part is able to rise and thus transmit the hydraulic overpressure to the entire underside of the seal.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, embodiments of the syringe which is the subject of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 show a plastics piston 1 having a solid shape with four fins 2 forming between them curvatures 3 bulging at their ends so as to constitute 'on one side a push-button 4 and at the other end a part. cylindrical 5 provided with a groove 6 intended to receive the seal.
The purpose of this arrangement is to prevent the piston from floating during sterilization, to prevent water from entering the interior of the piston, to simplify manufacture by replacing two parts with one and to allow savings. of significant weight compared to the ballasted cylindrical piston. In addition, the curvatures 3 can serve to accommodate the needles during transport of the syringe.
The plastics piston can advantageously be colored in a very light color, for example white, which, among other advantages, makes it easier to read the graduation.
Fig. 3 shows a metal plunger for use with a plastic syringe body.
For this purpose, in the syringe body 7, is mounted the metal piston which comprises a cylindrical mass 8 provided with a seal 9 engaged in a groove 10. The mass 8 is extended by a rod 11 terminated by a pushbutton 12. A frustoconical stopper 13 fitted in the conical inlet of the syringe ensures excellent guidance of the piston rod 11, and its retention at the end of the stroke. This piston, while having the advantages of the previous one, is not subject to yellowing after numerous sterilizations and its robustness ensures a long life. After prolonged use, it can be reused with a new gasket in a new plastic body.
In the known devices, the seal, when it has a great sliding smoothness, has a slightly defective seal at low pressures and, on the contrary, when it is very tight, it no longer has its sliding smoothness.
Figs. 4, 5 and 6 represent a seal which tends to combine the qualities of sealing and sliding smoothness.
This seal is composed of two main parts: - a first outer part of
massive 14, can move slightly
and freely in the groove 15 of the piston 16,
in the radial direction and in the long direction
tudinal, ensuring by its elasticity a
continuous contact of its external part with
the wall 17 of the syringe body 7 - a second part 18 connected in a conti
naked at first, but more flexible and more
light and in continuous contact with
one of the walls of the throat, elas
tick, so that at rest the liquid does not
can not bypass the seal, but that
in case of overpressure this elastic part 18
can rise and thus transmit the sur
hydraulic pressure at the entire lower face
top 19 of the seal.
Fig. 4 shows that in the rest position the liquid cannot bypass the seal since the flexible part 18 bears elastically at the bottom of the groove 15 continuously.
In fig. 6, at the moment of a pressure force, the part 14 of the seal is pressed against one of the side walls of the groove 15 and the flexible part 18 lifts up until the pressure of the anterior chamber 20 is transmitted to the entire lower surface of the seal, which results in pressing the main part 14 of the seal against the wall 17 of the syringe body 7 with a pressure proportional to the hydraulic force that it has to support and allows it to resist perfectly effective in pressure efforts.
