The present invention relates to a lid of a container, with a removal point for the contents of the container, which is to be pierced by means of a drinking straw.
One of the previously known lids of the type mentioned is made from two layers of aluminum foil. Material with a thickness of about 0.036 mm is used as the carrier or cover film. This film is embossed in order to achieve better unstacking on the closing system, and provided with an opening in the center of the lid for piercing the drinking straw. In a further operation, the cover film is counter-laminated with an approximately 0.0147 mm thick film with a secondary film. The opening punched into the cover film is closed again with this film, so that a tight cover is created. The inside of the lid, i.e. the secondary film is provided with thermoplastic varnish to seal the lid onto a container and can now be sealed to a plastic cup, for example a yogurt cup.
The requirements for such a lid are as follows: tightness of the closure during the transport of the filled container and easy penetration of the predetermined breaking point for the drinking straw. The disadvantages of such lids are based on the complex and expensive manufacturing process, as well as on the risk that, when pierced, the rondelle punched out by the drinking straw will get into the drinking straw and block it.
The object of the present invention is to create a lid of the type mentioned, which can be produced with considerably less raw material and reworking costs and in which the mentioned risk of clogging of the drinking straw does not exist. In the case of the lid according to the invention, this is achieved in that in the area of the removal point the lid material has a thickness which is smaller than the thickness of the lid material in the remaining part of the container lid.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing said cover. This method according to the invention is characterized in that the area of the desired removal point is subjected to pressure in a disk made of a cover material.
Yet another object of the present invention is to specify a device for carrying out the method mentioned. The inventive device is characterized by a base plate, as well as by a cooperating with this stamp, the end face of the
Stamp has a raised part. The shape of this par tie must correspond to the shape of the desired removal area.
Examples of the present invention are set out in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
It shows:
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the lid for closing a
Container,
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through the device for producing the position of the lid of FIG. 1,
Fig. 3 is a view of the end face of the stamp of the device according to FIG. 2, and
Fig. 4 is a side view of a further embodiment of the
Stamp of the device according to FIG. 2.
In Fig. List a commercially available disc 1 is shown, wel che can serve as a lid of a container. It is made of aluminum, for example, and can have a thickness between 45 and 65 p. The disc has a round part 2 which is intended for attachment to a container body (not shown), for example a yogurt pot. The disk 1 shown has a tongue 3, where you could intervene if you want to open the container in the usual way. In the middle of the disc, a cross-shaped removal point 4 is shown, which can be pierced with a straw (not shown) in order to be able to remove the contents from the container by means of this straw.
The thickness of the cover material in the removal point 4 is about 80-90% of the original thickness of the cover material, i.e. the thickness of the lid material in the remaining part of the container lid.
The shape of the extraction point 4 can be designed very differently. For example, the removal point 4 can have the shape of an ornament, a flower or the like.
Sometimes it can be useful to provide the individual bars of the cross-shaped removal point 4 with reinforcing ribs (not shown). Such reinforcing ribs then lie transversely to the longitudinal direction of the respective bar and have a thickness which is practically the same as the original thickness of the cover material. If the removal point 4 is equipped with these reinforcing ribs, the thickness of the material in the removal point can be selected to be even smaller.
It goes without saying that the cover plate 1 can also be designed without the tongue 3. Then the interior of such a container can practically only be made accessible by piercing the removal point 4.
The device for producing the above-described cover 1 with a cross-shaped removal point 4 is shown in FIG. It has a base plate 5, the upper side of which is flat, and a stamp 6, the front side of which has a raised portion 7 which has the shape of the desired removal point 4. In the example shown, the raised parts 7 form a cross, as can also be seen from FIG. 3.
The area of the desired removal point 4 in a cover disc 1 is subjected to pressure in that the stamp 6 moves towards the base plate 5, but only so far that it ends its stroke at a distance that corresponds to the desired die of the material in the Sampling point 4 is the same. The pressure that is exerted on a normal, commercially available cover material of approx. 45-65 thickness can, depending on the geometry of the punch, be in the order of magnitude of 7500 kp / mm2. This partial pressure causes the lid material to flow. This creates a bulge 10 (FIG. 2) around the pressure point 4, which can conveniently be contained with a fold holder or hold-down device (not shown).
At the same time, as I said, the cover material experiences a decrease in thickness of approx. 80-90% and compression, so that it is more brittle than the material in the rest of the container cover.
In Fig. 4, a development of the stamp 6 is shown, which is used to produce the bars of the cross-shaped Ent receiving point 4 bridging reinforcing ribs. The
Bars 8 of the raised part 7 of the punch 6 have for this purpose depressions 9 which allow the thickness of the cover material to remain practically unchanged here, so that after the end of the pressing process the reinforcing ribs of the original thickness of the cover material remain here.
The advantages that result from the above-described design of the container lid are primarily that the lid is tight against the stresses
Can withstand the closing process and during transport, and that on the other hand it can be easily pierced by means of the
Plastic drinking straws allowed. Due to the deformation in the lid, the work step of embossing the lid is omitted for the purpose of better unstacking, which also helps to reduce costs.
