La fig. 1 en est une vue en élévation de côté, partiellement déchirée;

The present invention relates to an automatic coffee machine of the type used in coffee bars, restaurants, etc., in which portions of espresso coffee are successively debited at a station where the cups to be filled are placed. one after the other.
In known machines of this type, the cups must be placed manually at the filling station, which complicates the service and causes significant loss of time.
The machine according to the invention, which eliminates these drawbacks, is characterized in that it comprises a device comprising a movable support on which it is possible to place, at determined locations, a certain number of cups to be filled and means automatically controlling intermittent movement to this support so that the cups placed on this support come to be placed one after the other in the filling position and remain there until they are filled with coffee.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the movement of the support will be controlled by a detector, for example a thermal probe, at the moment when the cup in which the coffee flows is filled to a certain level.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view thereof, partially broken away;
fig. 2 is a view from above which is also open.
The coffee machine shown is constituted by an apparatus housed in a body 10 automatically supplying from water and coffee beans, which are introduced into a funnel 11, portions of espresso which flows through a nozzle. 12.
All the operations necessary for the preparation of these portions of coffee, in particular the heating of the water, the grinding of the coffee, the dosage of the ground coffee in the filters, the installation of the filters, the evacuation of the grounds, the washing filters after use are carried out automatically by known means which have not been shown.
The machine also comprises a device comprising a rotary plate 13 having four circular grids 14 on which the cups to be filled are intended to be placed and a mechanism 15 making it possible to automatically impart to this plate an intermittent rotary movement so that the cups placed on the grids are placed successively under the nozzle 12 and remain there until they are filled with coffee.
This mechanism is constituted by a snap 16 formed of a ratchet wheel 17 wedged on the axis of the plate 13 and of a pawl 18 mounted on a connecting rod 19 pivoting around this axis and connected to the rod of a piston 20 moving in a hydraulic cylinder 21.
During the outward stroke of the piston 20, the plate 13 remains stationary, while it advances a quarter of a turn clockwise during its return stroke.
The aforementioned device also comprises a thermal probe 22 mounted at the end of an arm 23 which can pivot between a high position (in broken lines in the drawing) and a low position (in solid lines). When the arm 23 occupies its low position, the probe 22 is engaged in the cup placed under the nozzle 12, at a level corresponding to that at which it is desired to fill it with coffee, while the probe 22 is located at a certain height above. top of the cup when the arm is in its raised position.
Brought to a certain temperature, this probe, known per se, controls the passage of a current of low intensity in a circuit to which it is integrated. This current. which circulates when the probe is immersed in the hot coffee, generates by all appropriate means the raising of the arm 23, the stopping of the flow of coffee and the empty displacement of the piston 20.
A microswitch, inserted in another electrical circuit not shown, is closed by the arm 22 when it reaches its high position. This closure causes, by any appropriate means, the return of the piston 20 to the position it occupies in the drawing, which causes the plate 13 to turn a quarter of a turn and advance a cup to be filled under the nozzle 12. In the at the same time a filter containing fresh coffee is put in place. At the end of the stroke, the piston 20 closes another microswitch which triggers the process during which pressurized hot water passes through the filter before flowing, in the form of liquid coffee, into the cup located at the filling station. , while at the same time the arm 23 goes down and the probe 22 returns to its working position.
And the cycle begins again. The number of cycles which follow one another can be set by a digital push-button control for example. In the embodiment shown, a numerical control can be provided for successively filling 2, 3 or 4 cups of coffee, the latter number corresponding to the maximum number of cups that can be placed on the tray 13.
The invention is obviously not limited to the machine shown and described. In particular, one could consider a support moving in a rectilinear movement, for example a belt, possibly endless, on which the cups to be filled would be placed in line.
On the other hand, provision could be made to add to the device means accelerating the cooling of the probe when it is raised or during its ascent movement so that its temperature quickly drops to a relatively low value, in order to avoid premature stopping of the probe. filling.
Finally, the means controlling the intermittent advance of the support could be electric instead of being hydraulic.
