Abstract

The steplessly adjustable pumping system has steplessly adjustable delivery head or delivery rate. The rotary pump system overcomes the variation of pumping characteristics due to change of rotating speed. The system has a main pump (1) operating at constant speed. At least one additional pump (3) is provided which is operated with variable speed. These two pumps can be connected in series or separately and they form a compact unit. The additional pump can be driven by a hydraulic motor. The main pump can be a multistage pump and the additional pump can be a single stage pump.
