The present invention relates to a waste incineration plant with a rotary kiln with a horizontal axis of rotation.
Known systems of this type have a rotary kiln with an inner lining made of fire-resistant material. A disadvantage of such rotary kilns is that their lining is damaged by hard and explosive objects in the garbage, for example metal waste and spray cans, and often has to be repaired, which requires trained personnel and a relatively long time, so that the repair is relatively expensive.
Another disadvantage of these rotary kilns is their heavy weight and large dimensions, which makes it impossible to construct a waste incineration plant with such a rotary kiln as a vehicle which has reasonable dimensions.
Another disadvantage of rotary kilns with fire-resistant linings is their great thermal inertia, as a result of which these kilns need a long time to reach operating temperature and just as long to cool down to the ambient temperature, so that repairs to such kilns lead to long shutdowns of the waste incineration plant.
Other known systems of the type mentioned have rotary kilns made of steel without fire-resistant inner linings. Although these rotary kilns have a lower weight, smaller dimensions and less thermal inertia than rotary kilns with a fire-resistant lining, they are subject to relatively strong burns during operation, since their inner wall is in direct contact with the burning waste, so that their service life is reduced is short. Furthermore, the rotary kilns of the known plants are mostly tubular and relatively long, since the garbage is moved through the pipe at the same speed for drying and burning. Liquid waste cannot be incinerated in these tubular rotary kilns, since such waste would flow out of the furnace.
An object of the present invention is to provide a waste incineration plant whose rotary kiln is light and small in size so that the plant can be made so small that it can be placed on a normal truck.
A further object of the present invention is to provide a waste incineration plant with a rotary kiln, the wall of which is forcibly cooled and which therefore has a long service life and in which liquid waste can also be incinerated without it leaking.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a waste incineration plant with a rotary kiln which has little thermal inertia and which can be easily expanded so that the rotary kiln can be replaced by unskilled personnel on site without long shutdowns of the plant.
Finally, the object of the present invention is to create a waste incineration plant from which only practically solid, sterile and completely burned exhaust gases escape which do not pollute the environment, so that the waste incineration plant can be used in the immediate vicinity of housing developments, for example in the form of a vehicle that collects garbage from house to house and burns it immediately.
These tasks are carried out in a waste incineration plant with a rotary kiln made of high-temperature steel with a horizontal axis of rotation, which contains a drying chamber and a combustion chamber, a charging device for charging the drying chamber with refuse, a burner protruding into the drying chamber, means for post-burning of emerging from the combustion chamber, not yet completely burned garbage and for cleaning the combustion gases from solids, means for supplying preheated combustion air to the furnace and means for cooling and removing the combustion gases, achieved according to the present invention in that the rotary kiln is rotatably mounted in a stationary cooling air chamber and a first hollow cylindrical, shorter body with larger diameter, a second hollow cylindrical,
comprises longer body with a smaller diameter and a hollow, frustoconical connecting part which is shorter than each of the two hollow cylindrical bodies and which connects these bodies to one another, that at the free end of the first body a garbage input opening is formed, the clear width of which is smaller than that of the first body and an ash discharge opening is formed at the free end of the second body, the first body containing the drying chamber and the second body containing the combustion chamber, so that the drying chamber is shorter and has a larger inner diameter than the combustion chamber and has a laterally closed part which is lower as the edge of the garbage inlet and the incineration chamber so that liquid waste cannot flow out of the drying chamber,
that the inner wall of the drying chamber in the part adjacent to the garbage input opening has a screw conveyor and in the remaining part has first conveying vanes, the inner wall of the connecting part has second conveying vanes and the inner wall of the combustion chamber extends from the connecting part to the vicinity of the ash dispensing opening and fourth conveying vanes immediately adjacent to the ash dispensing opening has, wherein the first blades have an angle of attack with respect to the axis of rotation of the furnace which is greater than that of the third blades, but smaller than that of the second and fourth blades and the second blades have an angle of attack with respect to the axis of rotation of the furnace, which is smaller than that of the fourth wing, so that the waste is quickly moved away from the area of the input opening when the rotary kiln is rotating,
then moved relatively slowly through the drying chamber by the first blades for drying and preheating, then transported relatively quickly by the second blades through the connecting part into the combustion chamber and in this is transported more slowly by the third blades than in the drying chamber for combustion until the Ash reaches the fourth wings and is quickly removed from them through the ash dispensing opening on the rotary kiln, and that for cooling the outer wall of the rotary kiln, a first pressure fan for supplying cooling air to the cooling air chamber, one arranged between the first pressure fan and the cooling air chamber,
adjustable air throttle for adjusting the cooling air throughput through the cooling air chamber and on both sides of the upper half of the rotary kiln spaced from this are provided baffles for directing the cooling air around the upper part of the rotary kiln, which baffles above the rotary kiln an elongated opening for the exit of the cooling air from the cooling air chamber.

In the figures, the same items are labeled with the same reference numbers.
Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through an embodiment of the waste incineration plant according to the present invention.
The waste incineration plant according to FIG. 1 has a rotary kiln 1 with a horizontal axis of rotation, which is arranged in a chamber 2 that is only open at the top and can be driven by a motor M2 via a chain 3. The rotary kiln 1 consists essentially of a shorter hollow cylindrical body 4 with a larger diameter and a longer hollow cylindrical body 5 with a smaller diameter, which two bodies are connected to one another by a very short connecting part 6 in the form of a hollow truncated cone. The interior of the body 4 forms the drying chamber 7 and the interior of the body 5 forms the combustion chamber 8 of the rotary kiln 1.
To load the rotary kiln 1 with garbage, a charging device 9 is arranged in front of the drying chamber 7 of the rotary kiln 1, which has a garbage input funnel 10, which extends through an annular chamber 11 surrounding the front part of the body 4 and through the input opening 12 of the body 4 to the Drying chamber 7 extends. Via the annular chamber 11 and openings 13 connected to it in the lower part of the input hopper 10, preheated combustion air is fed to the rotary kiln 1, as will be described in more detail later.
The upper part of the input hopper 10 contains an upper, upwardly opening flap door 14 and a lower, downwardly opening flap door 15, which are opened and alternately opened by hydraulic actuators 16 and 17, depending on the temperature of the combustion gases emerging from the system be closed so that the input funnel 10 is always closed by one of the flap doors 14 and 15.
To feed the rotary kiln 1 with liquid or flowable, combustible waste, instead of the feeder 9, a feed pipe (not shown) can be arranged in front of the input opening of the rotary kiln 1, which is connected to a metering pump or other conveying device, which is dependent on the temperature of the The combustion gases emerging from the system are periodically actuated.
A burner 18 is arranged below the input hopper 10, which burner also extends through the annular chamber 11 into the refuse input opening 12 of the rotary kiln 1. The flame of the burner 18 develops its greatest heat in the drying chamber 7, which heat is used to dry, preheat and ignite the garbage.
The outer wall of the body 4 and 5 is provided with circular heat transfer ribs 19, of which the ribs of the body 4, which are located in the annular chamber 11, transfer heat from the preheated combustion air to the front part of the body 4 in order to dry and preheat the Support garbage in drying chamber 7. The remaining ribs of the body 4 and the ribs of the body 5 are used to cool the rotary furnace made of high-temperature steel, as will be described in more detail later.
To transport the garbage from the garbage input opening 12 at the front end to an ash discharge opening 20 of the rotary kiln that opens into a stationary post-combustion chamber 26, the inner wall of the body 4, adjacent to the refuse input opening 12, has an inwardly protruding screw thread 21 and a conveyor wing 22 adjoining this Mistake. The inner wall of the connecting part 6 has conveyor wings 23 and the inner wall of the body 5 has long conveyor wings 24 and short conveyor wings 25.
The pitch of the screw thread 21 and the angle of incidence of the conveyor blades 22, 23, 24 and 25 are chosen so that when the rotary kiln is rotating, the screw thread 21 transports the garbage away from the input opening 12 relatively quickly, so that this opening cannot be blocked by garbage. The garbage in the drying chamber 7 is then slowly transported by the blades 22, which have a small angle of attack of about 150, to the connecting part 6, so that the garbage in the drying chamber 7 can be dried, preheated and ignited.
The waste is quickly transported into the combustion chamber 8 by the wings 23 of the part 6, which have a large angle of attack of about 450, and then slowly transported further through the combustion chamber 8 by the long wings 24 having the smallest angle of attack of 2 to 30, so that the waste is practically burned to ash until it reaches the short blades 25, which have a large angle of attack of 600, which ash is quickly transported by the blades 25 into the stationary post-combustion chamber 26 adjoining the rotary kiln 1.
The rotary kiln 1 is carried by two race rings 27, one of which is connected to the body 4 and the other to the body 5 of the rotary kiln. The races 27 each run on two rollers 28 (FIG. 2) which are provided on both sides of the lower part of the rotary kiln. As can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, each race 27 is connected to the outer wall of the rotary kiln 1 via eight double-angled supports 29, which supports absorb the thermal expansion of the races and the rotary kiln, so that no mechanical stresses between the races and occur in the rotary kiln.
The ash discharge opening 20 of the rotary kiln 1 is provided with a concentric, thick ring 30 made of high-temperature steel, which is used to hold back large pieces of garbage in the rotary kiln 1 for further shredding and incineration and at the same time forms a heat store with relatively high thermal inertia, which allows brief temperature fluctuations in the area the ash discharge opening 20 of the rotary kiln, whereby a uniform and complete combustion of the combustible gases in the area of the ash discharge opening is achieved, even if garbage with very different calorific values is burned.
The post-combustion chamber 26 is delimited at the lower end by a grate 31 on which refuse that has not yet been completely burned is post-incinerated by the rotary kiln. Under the grate 31 there is an ash chamber 32 for receiving the ash. To remove the ashes from the ash chamber 32 and from non-combustible residues such as glass, ceramics, metal objects and the like that have accumulated on the grate 31, the post-combustion chamber 26 has a lockable hinged door 33, which is arranged on the side of the post-combustion chamber (in FIG. 4 right), which receives most of the ash and most of the garbage that has not yet been fully burned from the rotary kiln.
On the opposite side of the afterburning chamber 26 there is a further hinged door 34, which can be pushed open to equalize pressure in the event of sudden pressure surges in the system, such as those generated by spray cans exploding.
On the side of the post-combustion chamber 26 opposite the ash discharge opening 20 of the rotary kiln 1, a thick plate 35 made of high-temperature steel is provided, which also forms a heat accumulator and serves to compensate for brief temperature fluctuations in the post-combustion chamber, in order to ensure even post-combustion of the remaining, not yet incinerated waste and the remaining combustible gases. The plate 35 can be replaced by a heat exchanger 36 (shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1) if the waste heat from the waste incineration plant is to be used for heating purposes.
With the upper part of the post-combustion chamber 26 two parallel, horizontal exhaust pipes 37 are connected, which are connected to a horizontal exhaust pipe 38 arranged above them with a larger diameter, which opens into a vertical exhaust chimney 39. In the tubes 37 and 38 guide vanes 40 are provided for generating a turbulent flow of the exhausting combustion gases. A suction fan 41 is arranged in the chimney 39, which is driven by a motor M1 and sucks the combustion gases out of the rotary kiln 1 and the post-combustion chamber 26 via the tubes 37 and 38. To regulate the pressure in the incineration plant, a regulating flap 42 is provided at the end of the pipe 38, which is set as a function of the air pressure at the garbage input opening 12 of the rotary kiln 1.
Each of the two tubes 37 has heat transfer ribs 44 running in the longitudinal direction of the tube on its outside and extends through a cladding tube 45 with a larger diameter, so that two air channels 46 are formed which are each bounded by a tube 37 and a tube 45 and through which the ribs 44 extend. One ends of the two air ducts 46 are connected to the annular chamber 11 at the garbage input end of the rotary kiln 1 and the other of the two ends of the air ducts 46 to an annular chamber 47 at the ash discharge end of the rotary kiln 1, which annular chamber 47 surrounds the end area of the body 5.
The annular chamber 47 receives from a pressure fan 48, which is driven by a motor M3 (Fig. 7), combustion air at a pressure of 20 mm H2O above atmospheric pressure, of which a first part from the annular chamber 47, through the ash chamber 32 to the bottom of the Grate 31 and flows through this for the post-combustion of unburned waste lying on the grate in the post-combustion chamber 26.
The second larger part of the combustion air in the annular chamber 47 flows as cooling air around the end part of the body 5 of the rotary kiln 1, a smaller part of this cooling air flowing through an annular gap 43 surrounding the end of the body 5 (FIG. 5) into the post-combustion chamber 26 , and thereby the end of the body 5 cools and the greater part of the cooling air is fed as combustion air via the two channels 46, the front annular chamber 11 and the openings 13 in the garbage input hopper 10 of the garbage input opening 12 of the rotary kiln 1. As it flows through the two channels 46, this combustion air is heated by the hot combustion gases flowing in the flue pipes 37.
Due to the turbulent flow of the combustion gases caused by the blades 40 in the tubes 37, new parts of these gases keep coming into contact with the wall of the tubes 37, as a result of which these gases give off a great deal of heat to the combustion air, so that this air has a temperature of 300 heated to 4000 C and the combustion gases in the pipes 37 are correspondingly cooler. Since the air supplied by the pressure blower 48 is entirely used as combustion air, this air does not need to be pure; air polluted by dust or gases can also be used, so that the consumption of pure air can be kept relatively small.
As is known, high-temperature steel is very resistant to oxidation up to a temperature of 6000 C, i. H. the burn-off of this steel increases only slightly up to this temperature. However, if the temperature of high-temperature steel rises above 6000 C, the burn-off increases exponentially with the temperature. In the waste incineration plant according to the invention, the rotary kiln is cooled from the outside so that the temperature of its inner wall does not exceed 6000. For this purpose, the chamber 2, in which the rotary kiln 1 is arranged, is set by a pressure fan 49, which is driven by a motor M4 (FIG. 7), via an air throttle 50, which is set by a servomotor M5 (FIG. 7) can be supplied, cooling air, in the described embodiment up to 30,000 ms / h, which flows past the rotary kiln 1 from bottom to top.
To improve the cooling effect, air guide plates 51 (FIG. 2) are provided on both sides of the upper half of the rotary kiln 1, which guide the cooling air towards the rotary kiln 1. After flowing past the rotary kiln, the cooling air exits the chamber 2 from an upper gap formed by the two air baffles 51 and flows between the cladding tubes 45 upwards against the exhaust pipe 38.
The cooling air is cooled by two further air baffles 52 (FIG. 2) against the flue pipe 38, which is provided with circular cooling fins 53, for further cooling of the combustion gases before they enter the flue 39. As a result of the turbulent flow of the combustion gases generated by the guide vanes 40 in the exhaust pipe 38, new parts of these gases always come into contact with the cooled pipe wall, so that the combustion gases in the pipe 38 are further cooled down considerably. After flowing past the flue pipe 38, the cooling air reaches the open air, mixes with the combustion gases emerging from the chimney and carries them upwards, so that the combustion gases prevent nuisance to the environment.
The rotary kiln 1 of the waste incineration plant according to the invention is an element intended for consumption, which is replaced when wear damage occurs. Since the rotary kiln of the waste incineration plant according to the invention has a comparatively simple structure and its dimensions do not have to be particularly precise, it can be produced as a comparatively inexpensive series product. So that the rotary kiln can be replaced periodically without great expense, the waste incineration plant according to the invention is divided into two halves, an upper and a lower half, of which the upper half can be easily lifted from the lower half, whereupon the rotary kiln can be removed from the lower half without great effort removed from the system and replaced with a new one.
The formation of the support point of the two halves of the system in the area of the post-combustion point 26 is shown in FIG. 5.
As can be seen from this figure, the two halves can shift somewhat relative to one another, so that the two halves can expand differently under the influence of the operating heat of the system without mechanical stresses occurring between the two halves. In addition, the dimensions of the two halves do not have to be exactly the same, which simplifies the manufacture and assembly of the system. When the system is in operation, no combustion gases can escape into the atmosphere from the post-combustion chamber 26 via the contact points of the two halves of the system, since the operating pressure in the post-combustion chamber is about 4 mm H2O lower than atmospheric pressure.
During operation of the waste incineration plant according to FIGS. 1 to 6, as often as the upper hinged door 14 opens, the charging device 9 is supplied with as much waste as the interior of the input hopper 10 between the two hinged doors 14 and 15 can hold. When the lower flap door 15 opens in the input hopper 10, the garbage slides down and passes through the input opening 12 of the rotary kiln 1 rotating at about one revolution per minute into the drying chamber 7. The flap doors 14 and 15 are operated by the actuators 16 and 17, which together form the drive motor M6 (FIG. 7) of the loading device 9, alternately opened and closed for the input of garbage, as the temperature of the combustion gases in the chimney 39 is not less than 1800 C and not greater than 3600 C.
If this temperature is less than 1800 C or greater than 3600 C, the actuators 16 and 17 are stopped so that no garbage can be fed to the system.
In the drying chamber 7, the refuse is quickly transported away from the input opening 12 by the screw thread 21 rotating with the rotary kiln, so that there is space for the next garbage load and then by the conveyor blades 22 rotating with the rotary kiln, which have a small angle of attack of 150 , slowly moved to the connecting part 6 of the rotary kiln. The refuse is circulated, crushed and mixed with the preheated combustion air flowing through the input opening into the rotary kiln. By the burner flame burning in the drying chamber 7, which burns if the temperature of the combustion gases in the chimney 39 is not greater than 2750 C and not less than 2500 C, the garbage moving through the drying chamber 7 is dried, preheated and ignited, so that the garbage reaching the connecting part 6 of the rotary kiln is burning.
Liquid emerging from the garbage collects, since it cannot flow out of the drying chamber 7 because of the shape of the latter, on the bottom of the drying chamber 7 and is evaporated. The steam is removed by the combustion air flowing through the rotary kiln at about 7 m / s, whereby the combustible components of the steam burn.
The burning refuse reaching the connecting part 6 is quickly transported into the combustion chamber 8 of the rotary kiln by the conveyor blades 23 rotating with the rotary kiln, which have the large angle of attack of 450, and in this by the conveyor blades 24 rotating with the rotary kiln with the small Setting angles from 2 to 30 slowly transported on. The garbage is further crushed, circulated and mixed with combustion air so that the garbage, with the exception of non-combustible and very large combustible parts, is burned to ashes when it reaches the end of the combustion chamber 8. The temperature in the combustion chamber is 800 to 10000 C, which results in complete sterilization of the waste and the combustion gases.
At the end of the combustion chamber 8, the ashes and not yet burned garbage are quickly transported into the afterburning chamber 26 by the short blades 25 with the large angle of attack of 600.
Not yet burned, large-sized garbage is held back in the combustion chamber 8 by the steel ring 30 arranged in the discharge opening 20 until it is sufficiently burned and crushed that it can pass through the annular gap formed between the steel ring 30 and the inner wall of the combustion chamber 8 and into the Post-combustion chamber 26 can reach.
The ashes and the unburned garbage fall from the discharge opening 20 of the combustion chamber 8 onto the grate 31 located at the bottom of the post-combustion chamber 26, the ash falling further into the ash pan 32 and the not yet burned garbage remaining on the grate 31.
The combustible parts of this garbage are completely burned on the grate 31 with the supply of combustion air from the pressure fan 48. The speed of the combustion gases emerging from the rotary kiln decreases from about 7 m / s to about 1 m / s on entry into the post-combustion chamber 26, since the post-combustion chamber has a significantly larger cross-section than the rotary kiln. As a result, most of the ash particles contained in the combustion gases settle on the bottom of the post-combustion chamber 26 on the grate 31 and fall through it into the ash chamber 32, so that the combustion gases in the upper part of the post-combustion chamber 26 are relatively dust-free.
The combustion gases are sucked off by the suction fan 41 arranged in the chimney 39 via the preheating pipes 37 and the cooling pipe 38 from the upper part of the post-combustion chamber 26 and pass through the chimney 39 into the open. When flowing through the tubes 37 and 38, the combustion gases are given a turbulent flow by the fixed guide vanes 40 arranged in these tubes, so that the combustion gases when flowing through the preheating tubes 37 transfer a large part of their heat to the combustion air flowing past the outer wall of these tubes and when flowing through the cooling pipe 38, a further large part of their heat is released to the cooling air flowing past the cooling pipe 38 from the bottom up.
Fig. 7 shows schematically the device for automatic control of the internal temperature and the internal pressure of the garbage incineration system according to FIGS. 1 to 6 and FIG. 8 shows the operation of the control system according to FIG. 7 as a function of the temperature of the combustion gases in the chimney of the system . The control device according to FIG. 7 comprises a first temperature sensor S1 and a second temperature sensor S2, which sensors are arranged in the chimney and sense the temperature of the combustion gases flowing through the chimney. To regulate the pressure in the system, the regulating device has a pressure sensor S3, which senses the pressure of the combustion air in the garbage input opening 12 of the rotary kiln 1. The control device also has a control unit SG which controls the drive motors M1 to M7 of the system.
To start up the waste incineration plant, the control unit SG is switched on, which in turn switches on the two-speed drive motor M1 of the suction fan 41 arranged in the chimney 39, so that this motor runs at its lower speed of 950 rpm.
The control unit SG also switches on the motor M2 to drive the rotary kiln 1, the motor M4 to drive the cooling air pressure fan 49 and the motor M7 to supply fuel to the burner 18 and at the same time causes the burner flame to ignite. The servomotor of the air throttle 50 for controlling the cooling air supply to the rotary kiln 1 remains switched off, so that the cooling kiln does not yet receive any cooling air. The motor M6 of the loading device 9 and the motor M3 also remain switched off, so that no garbage can yet be fed to the system and the pressure fan 48 does not yet supply any combustion air. The system is heated by the burner flame, so that the temperature of the air sucked in by the suction fan 41 and exiting through the chimney increases.
When the air in the chimney reaches a temperature of 1500 C, the sensor S1 causes the control unit SG to switch the motor M1 of the suction fan 41 to the higher speed of 1400 rpm, and the motor M3 of the pressure fan 48 to supply the combustion air and the motor M6 of the garbage loading device 10 is switched on, which alternately opens and closes the folding doors of this device periodically, so that the system can be loaded with garbage. By burning garbage in the rotary kiln, the temperature continues to rise slowly, whereby from a temperature of 2000 C of the combustion gases in the chimney 39, the sensor S1 via the control unit SG causes the servomotor M5 to open the cooling air throttle 50 so that the rotary kiln 1 is cooled by cooling air.
As the temperature continues to rise, the air throttle 50 is opened more and more by the servomotor M5, so that the temperature of the wall of the rotary kiln is always approximately 6000 ° C. If the temperature of the combustion gases in the chimney 39 reaches a value of about 2750 C, the temperature sensor S1 causes the burner motor M6 to switch off via the control unit SG and thus to extinguish the burner flame. When the temperature of the combustion gases in the chimney 39 subsequently drops again to 2500 C due to the burning of garbage with a low calorific value, the burner motor M6 is switched on again and the burner flame is re-ignited.
If the temperature of the combustion gases in the chimney 39 continues to rise despite the burner being switched off and reaches a value of 3200 ° C., the sensor S1 causes the motor M6 to be switched off via the control unit SG so that no more waste can be fed into the system. If the temperature of the combustion gases in the chimney 39 continues to rise and it reaches a value of 4000 C, the temperature sensor S2 causes the motor M3 to be switched off via the control unit SG so that no more combustion air is supplied to the rotary kiln and the motor M1 is switched to the lower speed of 950 rpm, so that the tension in the system is reduced. As a result, too little oxygen is supplied to the burning garbage, so that the combustion is greatly slowed down and the furnace temperature is correspondingly reduced.
When the temperature then falls back to below about 3100 C, the sensor S2 causes the motor M3 to be switched on again via the control unit SG, so that the rotary kiln receives combustion air again and the motor M1 switches to the higher speed of 1400 rpm so that the draft in the system is increased. If the temperature of the combustion gases falls below about 1300 C, for example when the system is shut down, the sensor S1 causes the motors M3 and M6 to be switched off via the control unit SG so that the rotary kiln no longer receives any combustion air and no more waste is fed into the system can.
The control device SG can either be designed in such a way that the rotary furnace is charged with garbage by the charging device at constant time intervals or so that the rotary furnace is charged with trash by the charging device at time intervals, the length of which is proportional to the temperature of the combustion gases in the chimney, i.e. . H. at lower temperatures of the combustion gases, the waste is fed to the rotary kiln at shorter intervals and at higher temperatures of these gases at longer intervals. This enables a more even temperature to be achieved in the system.
During normal operation of the waste incineration plant, the throttle valve 42 in the cooling pipe 38 is adjusted by the pressure sensor S3 via the servomotor M8 so that the air pressure in the annular chamber 11 at the waste input end of the rotary kiln 1 is approximately equal to the atmospheric pressure and in the waste input opening 12 of the rotary kiln 1 by approximately 2 mm H20 is less than atmospheric pressure. As a result, no cold air is drawn into the rotary kiln from the ambient atmosphere, so that the preheated combustion air flowing into the rotary kiln is not cooled.
The waste incineration plant according to the invention can be designed as a vehicle so that it can be used directly at the places where the waste occurs, for example in the event of a catastrophe when large amounts of liquid and / or solid waste temporarily accumulate at a certain location. This design is possible because the rotary kiln of the system according to the invention has no brickwork and is therefore light and has a small diameter. Furthermore, since the passage of the garbage through the rotary kiln is controlled by the conveyor blades, which have different lengths and angles of incidence, so that the drying, preheating, lighting and burning of the garbage takes place on a short conveying path, the rotary kiln can also be very short, so that the inventive Waste incineration plant can be set up on a normal truck.
Such a mobile system according to the invention can also be used in the immediate vicinity of residential areas, since only sterile exhaust gases which are practically free of solid matter emerge from the system. As stated in the above description, no non-sterile or incompletely burned combustion gases can escape from the system, since the pressure of the combustion gases in the system is somewhat lower than atmospheric pressure.
The waste incineration plant according to the invention consists of a lower half and an upper half, which can easily be separated from one another, so that the rotary kiln can be replaced by unskilled personnel at the place of use of the plant. For this purpose, the upper half of the system is lifted off the lower half, so that the rotary kiln is freely accessible in the lower half and can be removed as a whole from the lower half after loosening the drive chain. The new rotary kiln can just as easily be inserted into the lower half of the system.
Since the rotary kiln of the waste incineration plant according to the invention has no brick lining and therefore only a small thermal inertia, the plant cools down quickly after being shut down and is ready for operation again just as quickly after commissioning, so that there are no long interruptions in operation when the rotary kiln is replaced.
The operating life of the rotary kiln of the waste incineration plant according to the invention is comparatively long, since its wall is heated to a temperature of about 6000 C during operation, at which temperature there is still no major material burn-off of the rotary kiln and the rotary kiln has no brickwork caused by hard objects or spray cans exploding in the trash could be damaged.
The simply constructed rotary kiln of the waste incineration plant according to the invention can be produced as a cheap mass-produced product, and since the rotary kiln can also be changed quickly and easily and can be carried out by unskilled personnel, the costs of replacing the rotary kiln in the waste incineration plant according to the invention are relatively small.
