Fig. 2 einen axialen Schnitt durch die Spreizmutter,
Fig. 3 eine Stirnansicht hierzu,
Fig. 5 einen Teillängsschnitt in Richtung der Schlitze in Verankerungsstellung.

Expanding dowels, which are used to firmly anchor screws and nails in components, are known in various designs. With so-called Spreiz- or Patentdü the nuts are spread in pre-formed holes by inserted screws and pressed against the walls of the associated holes. The anchoring effect is based solely on the compression of the nut spread at the front part, which in many cases, however, especially when exposed to vibrations, proves to be insufficient.
The present invention relates to an expansion dowel with a screw, a conical part and a partially longitudinally protected nut, which is expanded when the screw is screwed in, which expansion dowel is characterized in that the open sides of the slots of the nut are directed towards the head of the screw and the conical part is arranged in the middle part of the screw between the thread and the head, the whole thing in such a way that when the screw is screwed into the nut and expanded, the end faces of the legs created by the slots protrude with sharp edges around the wall of the pre-formed hole like a sawtooth to attack and to establish a positive connection with the pressure caused by the nut.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown, namely show:
Fig. 1 is a side view of the screw and the expansion nut which form the expansion anchor,
2 shows an axial section through the expanding nut,
3 shows an end view of this,
4 shows a view of the expansion dowel introduced into a hole in a component prior to expansion, and FIG
5 shows a partial longitudinal section in the direction of the slots in the anchoring position.
1 is the screw and 2 is the associated expanding nut with an internal thread 2. The screw has a conventional angular head 3 at the rear end, adjoining this the cylindrical shaft 1 'and at the front end the thread 4. In the middle part of the screw 1 between the shaft 1' and the thread is the conical part 5, which is located in the direction of the latter, respectively. tapered forward. 6 denote radial longitudinal slots which are open towards the conical part 5. The longitudinal slots 6, which in a known manner do not extend over the entire length of the expanding nut 2, end at the ring part 2 ″ of the latter and form expanding legs 6 '(FIG. 3).
When the screw 1 is screwed into the expanding nut 2, the latter is pushed onto the conical part 5, which presses the expanding limbs 6 'apart and thus causes the nut 2 to expand, as FIG. 5 shows. The outer wall of the nut 2 has a per se known sharp-edged, tooth-like corrugation 10 seen in cross section, as can be seen in the figures. The sharp-edged corrugation 10 strongly attacks the inner wall of the hole 8 and prevents the nut 2 from turning empty when the screw 1 begins to be screwed in.
For the attachment of the expansion anchor to the component 7, e.g. is a concrete wall, the hole 8 is first preformed in the latter in a conventional manner, the diameter of which is approximately the same as that of the unspanded nut 2. The screw 1 is put together after the object 9 to be fastened in the component 7, which is for example a profile, is placed inserted into the hole 8 with the nut partially screwed onto the thread 4. The screw 1 is then screwed further into the nut 2 until the profile 9 rests against the component 7 due to the pressure of the head 3. As the screw 1 is screwed in further, the nut 2 moves successively onto the conical part 5 and the expansion legs 6 'are pushed apart outward and brought into the expanded position according to FIG. The nut 2 assumes a position tapering from the rear to the front.
The sharp-edged front edges of the expansion legs 6 'protrude to the circumference of the ring part 2 "of the nut 2 and attack the wall like a sawtooth at the points A of the hole 8. With the friction lock produced by the nut 2 by pressing, the sawtooth-like attack of the front edges of the expansion legs 6 'additionally created a form-fitting connection in the hole 8 at points A, which significantly improves the anchoring effect. This form-fitting connection at points A makes it largely impossible to move the expansion nut 2 in the expanded state in connection with the compression caused by the latter .
In contrast to what is known, the maximum expansion due to the expanded legs 6 'does not take place at the front but at the rear end of the nut 2 and in the middle part of the screw 1. the clamping effect emanating from the latter due to external influences, such as vibrations, loads, erosions, etc., subsides.
