Abstract

To give an improved grip for vehicle tyres in snow and icy conditions, a disc (1) with a hollow boss (2) is attached to each wheel, then as soon as required, a set of attachments (5) are attached to each disc. The disc incorporates a set of spring clips into each of which is snapped on attachment which is strip shaped, with a straight portion with serrated edges which are engaged by the spring clip and a hooked portion (51) which fits over the tread of the tyre to give the improved grip on the road. A special key is used to remove the attachments without effort when they are no longer required.
