The invention relates to a device for measuring and displaying competition results, which have the dimension of a length, with a measuring section and with at least one signal transmitter and signal receiver, a signal evaluation device and a display device connected to its output.
It is well known that the results of jumping and throwing disciplines in athletics and ski jumping competitions are measured practically manually using conventional measuring devices or aids that supplement them.
On the one hand this fact makes the determination of the results tedious, on the other hand numerous sources of error have to be taken into account with this method. Attempts have been made to automate these measurement processes, but satisfactory means have not yet been made available.
The evaluation of the competitions is made even more difficult by the fact that only those results may be taken into account in which the competitor has not exceeded a predetermined limit serving as a reference point for the longitudinal measurement. If this limit is exceeded, the result may not be counted.
When determining competition results in these disciplines, the impact of a body, e.g. B. of the competitor or the throwing body, on the ground, the distance between the aforementioned limit - the zero line - and the point of impact on the ground is measured. The body impacts on the ground enable an evaluation of the points of impact that appear simultaneously or one after the other with the aid of a direction-sensitive logic network.
It must be taken into account that all points of impact should be determined independently of one another for each unit of length, whereby of the points that may appear at the first impact at the same time, the point to be assessed according to the competition rules is highlighted by the logic network, and that of the points in In the sequence of impacts that appear later, only those points in the logic network are evaluated that change the result in accordance with the competition rules, and that these changes are finally displayed at the same time, at the appropriate time intervals, and ultimately remain in the final state.
According to the invention, this is achieved by a device of the type mentioned in that the signal transmitter has a number of point-shaped signal sources which are arranged along a section of the measurement path, each signal source having one of n, where n is a natural number> 1, signal receiving cells a signal receiver arranged on the other side of the measuring section is assigned, that the evaluation device has n identically designed, series-connected logic units, the inputs of which are connected to the outputs of the signal receiver cells, and that the output of each logic unit is connected to an input of the display device.
The signal generator can be designed as a light source, sound or ultrasound source or the like. The signal receiver is expediently arranged opposite the signal transmitter in such a way that the line connecting the signal transmitter with the signal receiver or this line area in the way or
the direction of movement of the body in question falls. So z. B. the section containing the possible points of impact on the earth (which in extreme cases can make up the entire length of the orbit) can be detected in such a way that one is on one side of the same in the immediate vicinity of the ground, e.g. the signal transmitter is arranged in a line at a height of 5 mm and opposite it, on the other side of the track, the signal receiver, whereby the latter can also consist of receiving cells arranged next to one another in a line. If the track section is n longitudinal units, where n is a natural number, the signal receiver can consist of n cells of completely identical design.
The logic network must z. B. be designed to evaluate the long jump so that of the points of impact scanned at the moment of the first impact of the jumper on the earth, only the point closest to the reference point is displayed, and that from this point on the logic units assigned to the more distant cells be blocked; If, on the other hand, a new point of impact is perceived at a point that is even smaller than the one that has already been displayed, the new point should automatically be displayed and the previous one deleted. A particular difficulty in throwing disciplines is that a bow has to be scanned here, but appropriate means, e.g. Light guide track, etc., are available with which this task can be achieved.
An advantageous further development of the proposed device can consist in the fact that the logic network not only displays the point to be finally assessed, but also stores and / or registers all observations made between the first impact on the ground and the final state influencing the result. This operating mode enables the effectiveness of the training to be improved, as the behavior of the competitors can be carefully and thoroughly analyzed. Of course, the desired modes of operation can be selected using mode selector switches, and where only one mode is required it is easier to hardwire the given mode of operation.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are shown on the accompanying drawing:

FIG. 2a is the cross section taken along line A-A in FIG. 2.
Fig. 2b shows the basic electrical circuit diagram of the start control unit.
FIG. 3 shows a possible embodiment of the signal transmitter of the proposed device in a perspective representation, the electrical principle circuit diagram of the signal transmitter being shown in FIG. 3a.
Fig. 4 shows an example embodiment of the signal receiver of the proposed device in a perspective view from the front.
Fig. 4a shows the rear view of the signal receiver in perspective.
Fig. 5 shows the circuit diagram of the evaluation device in an embodiment suitable for recording the competition results.
Fig. 5a shows an advantageous solution of the evaluation device for long jump as well as for other competitions and trainings to be evaluated according to the same rules.
As can be seen from Fig. 1, the basic structure of the device is as follows:
The start control unit I is located at the starting point and controls the start or the correct start of the competition or discipline. When crossing the starting line, a circuit is closed or interrupted by pressure-sensitive contacts. This results in a signal change at the output, which forms the display part of the device. The tender is prevented by z. B.
the supply voltage line is interrupted or a blockage is made at another point. In the area where the impact is to be expected after a jump or throw, a signal transmitter II is arranged, which emits a beam beam corresponding to the deviations of the tolerance limits in the direction of a signal receiver II. This has cells arranged within the tolerance limits according to corresponding length units (e.g. cm) and is connected to a direction-sensitive evaluation device IV. A display and / or registration unit V is connected to the output of this evaluation device IV. The device of course also contains other parts, not shown and not relating to the invention, such. B. power supplies, feed units and additional facilities such. B.
Keyboard for judges etc.
The start control unit shown in Fig. 2 is in the form of a cassette and is used to display an overshoot or exit, e.g. B. long jump or throwing disciplines on the starting point. The cassette is sunk into the ground in such a way that its upper sensor plate 1 can move in the direction of the lower sensor plate 2, with the contacts still to be described being actuated. End plates 6 are provided for protection in the lateral direction.
FIG. 2a shows a cross section along the line A-A of FIG. 2 on a larger scale. The cross section is only shown schematically and only shows the design of the sensor plate 2, which limits the downward movement of the sensor plate 1. Fixed contacts 4 are arranged on an insulating plate 3 and cooperate with movable contacts 4a arranged on the sensor plate 1. In the idle state, the contacts 4 and 4a are separated from one another by springs 5. The springs are protected by insulating sleeves 7.
The arrangement of the row of contacts consisting of the contacts is chosen so that the upper sensor plate 1 hits the surface of the observed measuring area, i.e. H. normally the starting line comes to rest and is already pressed against the lower plate 2 under the action of a very low pressure of a few grams. The corresponding signal circuit is short-circuited so that an interruption occurs. Of course, you could also use a corresponding break contact.
2b shows the basic electrical circuit diagram of the start control unit I. A control lamp 8 is designated. The supply voltage is connected to terminal 9, and switch 10 triggers the unit to respond.
The solution used does not exclude the possibility of arranging the classic entry sensor that preserves the traces.
3 shows the perspective illustration of a possible embodiment of the signal transmitter II.
The signal transmitter covers the area to be measured at a height of 5-15 mm from the surface of the earth with a bundle of rays emerging from its front part and parallel to the ground. The beam is generated by means of a corresponding optical or electro-optical device or by means of corresponding radiation emitters arranged next to one another.
3a shows the basic circuit of the signal generator, with 11 denoting the energy source, 12 the switch and 13 the connection of the supply voltage.
Fig. 4 shows the perspective front view of the signal receiver III. The signal receiver is arranged opposite the signal transmitter at a distance corresponding to the regulations of the relevant competition discipline, so that the beam of rays arrives on the path formed by the shielding cap system 14 to the row forming the receiver, the horizontal resolution of which corresponds to the accuracy required by the respective competition discipline. The row of shielding caps is arranged on the entry side of the cassette 15 in order to prevent the entry of possibly foreign signals from the environment. If there is no object between the signal transmitter II and the sensor elements of the signal receiver III that prevents the propagation of the energy, the complete series of measurements is e.g. B. in the display 0 causing electrical state.
If, on the other hand, an object gets into the energy flow between transmitter and receiver, the length of which is greater than a division of the sensor row of the signal receiver, the measuring device scans the change in the homogeneous signal level at the point of impact with the accuracy of the relevant division and converts it into an electrical one Signal around. In the example embodiment, the housing containing the components of the signal receiver also contains the logic network of the evaluation device and the display device.
The lamps 17 shown in FIG. 4 a form the display for each unit of measurement on the correspondingly calibrated measuring plate 16.
Of course, any other display device can be controlled with the output signals of the logic network.
Fig. 5 is a circuit diagram used to describe the logic network in which the logic units 1, (j -1), and (j +1), as well as the blanking bus with the corresponding switches are included. The connection with the display device and the signal sensor cells as well as with the additional breakover circuit receiving the logic command can also be seen. Before the start of the measuring process, the system is brought into the basic position by means of the delete button 23, which is the opposite of the indicated state of the tilting circles 20.
The impacting object indicates a signal at an output of the signal receiver 18 as a result of the light blocking and switches over the flip-flop circuit 20 via the OR gate 19, which sends a signal to the storage and / or registration unit 24 via the AND gate 21, if the tilting circle in front of the activated signal receiver is in the basic position.
The breakover circuits in a chain connection prevent the display of the signals falling to the right from the examined point, whereby the signals on the left can still be activated. The breakover circuit input 22 can be connected to the start control unit and also to another network which issues logic commands.
FIG. 5a shows a circuit combined with the training operating mode, in which logic units 1, (j − 1), j and (j + 1), a mode switch and the extinguishing bus with the corresponding switches are contained. Furthermore, the connection with the display device and the signal sensor cells as well as with the additional breakover circuit receiving the logic command can be seen. In addition, the second breakover circuit of the logic unit n is shown connected to the operating mode switch.
Before the start of the measuring process, the system is brought into the basic position by means of the cancel button 37, which is the opposite of the indicated state of the breakover circuits 30 and 31. In competition operations, the mode of operation is the same as that described in connection with FIG. The AND gate 28, the OR gate 29, the flip-flop circuit 31, the AND gate 33 and the OR gate 34 participate in this process.
In the training mode, the process at the moment of impact is similar to that in the competition position, but the fast-working breakover circuits 31 close the AND gate 28 via the switch 36 and secure the path of further signals via the AND gate 27 via the inverter 26.
In the case of a movement to the right of the impact, no signal occurs that the input condition at the AND gates 33 and 32 is not met.
When moving to the left is via the AND gate 32, the common signal of the switched Kippstrom circuit 30 and the held in the basic position Kipp circuit 31 via the OR gate 34 on the input of the display and / or registration circuit from a signal and this remains also obtained with further left signals. The breakover circuit 38 can be connected both to the start control unit and to a network that provides further logic commands. The connection of the logic unit n to the operating mode switch 36 is shown at 39.
