Die Erfindung betrifft einen Handkoffer, dessen Kasten und Deckel an ihren Randseiten durch komplementäre Metallrahmen verstärkt sind. Bei bekannten Handkoffern dieser Art hat man die Metallrahmen auf Randteile der Kastenbzw. der Deckelwandung aufgenäht. Dies gelingt jedoch nur, wenn man für die Rahmen besonders weiche Legierungen verwendet, was den Nachteil hat, dass die Rahmen im Gebrauch selbst leicht deformierbar sind. Die Erfindung behebt diesen Nachteil dadurch, dass die Metallrahmen je auf einem aus Kunststoff bestehenden Anschlussrahmen aufgepresst sind, der mit dem Randteil der Wandung des Kastens und des Deckels durch mindestens eine Naht verbunden ist.
Es hat sich gezeigt, dass der Metall- und der Kunststoffrahmen bei Verwendung durchaus üblicher Materialien durch das Pressen so fest und dauerhaft verbunden werden können, wie dies für die oft sehr rauhe Behandlung von Handkoffern nötig ist, und dass auch das Vernähen des Kunststoffrahmens mit Leder, Kunstleder od. dgl. keine Schwierigkeiten bietet.
Anhand der Zeichnung, die ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Erfindungsgegenstandes darstellt, soll die Erfindung erläutert werden. In der Zeichnung ist:
Fig. 1 eine perspektivische Teilansicht eines offenen Handkoffers, und
Fig. 2 ein Querschnitt durch dessen zwei Metallprofilrahmen bei geschlossenem Koffer.
Der Koffer besteht in bekannter Weise aus einem Kofferkasten 1 und einem Kofferdeckel 2, die durch Scharniere miteinander verbunden und an ihren Rändern durch profilierte, vorzugsweise aus einer Aluminiumlegierung bestehende Metallrahmen 3 und 4 verstärkt sind, welche sich bei geschlossenem Koffer teilweise überlappen. Wie Fig. 2 in grösserem Massstab zeigt, sind die Metallrahmen 3 und 4 mit Hilfe von je einem Anschlussrahmen 5 bzw. 6 an den Randteilen 7 bzw.
8 der Wandungen des Kofferkastens 1 bzw. des Kofferdeckels 2 befestigt. Die Anschlussrahmen 5 und 6 bestehen aus Kunststoff, z. B. Polyvinylchlorid.
Das Profil des Metallrahmens 3 weist einen hohlen Steg 9 auf, von dem sich zwei Schenkel 10 und 11 nach unten erstrecken, die auf ihren einander gegenüberliegenden Seiten 12 und 13 gezahnt und auf einen im Querschnitt etwa trapezförmigen Haltewulst 14 des Kunststoffrahmens 5 aufgepresst sind, an den sich eine im Querschnitt im wesentlichen rechteckige Fahne 15 anschliesst. Die Fahne 15 liegt an der Innenseite des Randteiles 7 der Kastenwandung an und ist mit demselben durch eine in Fig. 1 und 2 schematisch angedeutete Naht 16 verbunden. Als Nähfaden wird ein starker Faden, z. B. von der beim Vernähen von Schuhsohlen üblichen Art, benützt. Die beiden innen gezahnten Profilschenkel 10 und 11 konvergieren in Richtung auf die Fahne 15 hin, so dass der Kunststoffrahmen 5 äusserst fest mit dem Metallrahmen 3 verbundes ist.
Es können auch mehrere Nähte 16 vorgesehen sein.
Die Aussenfläche 17 des äusseren Schenkels 10 liegt praktisch in derselben Ebene wie die Aussenfläche 18 des Randteiles 7. Der Steg 9 weist einen Vorsprung 19 auf, der bei geschlossenem Koffer in eine Ausnehmung 20 eines Steges 9 des Metallrahmens 4 eingreift, sowie eine Abschrägung 21, die von einem im Querschnitt etwa keilförmigen Flansch 22 übergriffen wird. Die Rahmen 3 und 4 sind somit in bekannter Weise komplementär. Im übrigen ist der Metallrahmen 4 im wesentlichen in gleicher Weise ausgebildet wie der Metallrahmen 3, wobei entsprechenden Teilen gleicher, aber mit dem Index 1 versehener Überweisungszeichen zugeordnet sind.
Auch der Kunststoffrahmen 6 ist in gleicher Weise ausgebildet wie der Kunststoffrahmen 5, wobei der Haltwulst 14r von den Schenkeln 101 und 101 des Metallrahmens 4 festgehalten und seine Fahne 151 durch eine Naht 161 mit dem Randteil 8 der Deckelwandung verbunden ist.
Ein Futter 23 bzw. 231, das vorzugsweise aus Textilstoff besteht, kann an seinem Rand auf dem Schenkel 13 bzw. 13 des Metallrahmens 3 bzw. 4 aufgeklebt sein.
Der beschriebene Handkoffer ist trotz des geringen Gewichtes der hohlen Leichtmetallrahmen 3 und 4 und der zugehörigen Anschluss-Kunststoffrahmen 5 und 6 ausserordentlich widerstandsfähig und dauerhaft. Dabei kann man für die Metallrahmen durchaus handelsübliche Aluminiumlegierungen oder auch andere Metalle verwenden.
PATENTANSPRUCH
Handkoffer, dessen Kasten und Deckel an ihren Randteilen durch komplementäre Metallrahmen verstärkt sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Metallrahmen (3, 4) je auf einem aus Kunststoff bestehenden Anschlussrahmen (5, 6) aufgepresst sind, der mit dem Randteil (7, 8) der Wandung des Kastens (1) und des Deckels (2) durch mindestens eine Naht (16, 16i) verbunden ist.
UNTERANSPRÜCHE
1. Handkoffer nach Patentanspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jeder Metallrahmen (3, 4) nvei Schenkel (10, 11; 101, 111) aufweist, die auf einen im Querschnitt trapezförmigen Haltewulst (14, 141) des betreffenden Anschlussrahmens (5, 6) aufgepresst sind und auf eine mit dem Randteil (7, 8) vernähte Fahne (15, 151) des Anschlussrahmens hin konvergieren.
2. Handkoffer nach Unteranspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Innenseiten (12, 13; 121, 131) der Metallrahmenschenkel (10, 11; 101, 111) gezahnt sind.
3. Handkoffer nach Unteranspruch 1 oder 2, bei dem die Metallrahmen aus Leichtmetall bestehen und einen hohlen Steg aufweisen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sich die konvergenten Schenkel (10, 11; 101, 111) an den hohlen Steg (9; 91) anschliessen.

The case consists of a case 1 and a case lid 2, which are connected by hinges and reinforced at their edges by profiled metal frames 3 and 4, preferably made of an aluminum alloy, which partially overlap when the case is closed. The outer surface 17 of the outer leg 10 is practically in the same plane as the outer surface 18 of the edge part 7. The web 9 has a projection 19 which, when the case is closed, engages in a recess 20 of a web 9 of the metal frame 4, as well as a bevel 21, which is overlapped by a flange 22 which is approximately wedge-shaped in cross section. The frames 3 and 4 are thus complementary in a known manner. Otherwise, the metal frame 4 is designed essentially in the same way as the metal frame 3, with corresponding parts being assigned the same transfer symbols, but provided with the index 1.
The plastic frame 6 is also designed in the same way as the plastic frame 5, the retaining bead 14r being held by the legs 101 and 101 of the metal frame 4 and its flag 151 being connected to the edge part 8 of the cover wall by a seam 161.
A lining 23 or 231, which is preferably made of textile, can be glued at its edge to the leg 13 or 13 of the metal frame 3 or 4.
The suitcase described is, despite the low weight of the hollow light metal frames 3 and 4 and the associated plastic connection frames 5 and 6, extremely resistant and durable. Commercially available aluminum alloys or other metals can be used for the metal frames.
