The invention relates to a plug-in coupling for a liquid or gas line as a connection of a hose with a plug-in part, behind the sealing surface of which there is a circumferential groove, as well as a nut which accommodates the plug-in part and has a sleeve that is axially displaceable thereon and is under spring tension against the plug-in part, furthermore with clamping members arranged in front of the sealing surface of the nut, which are mounted so as to be radially displaceable and are in the movement path of an inwardly directed annular bead of the sleeve.
To secure plug-in couplings of this type, it is known to use balls as clamping elements which are pressed through the sleeve into the groove and secured there. This gives the clamping member a point support in the groove.
Another known solution consists in the fact that the clamping elements consist of rods made of spring steel, which lie as secants in the nut and, in the active state, lie as a tangent on the bottom of the groove. Here you have, if not a punctiform, then a linear contact.
The object of the invention is to improve the contact relationship between the clamping member and the plug-in part and to enlarge it, in particular with a view to the fact that the plug-in coupling can be produced more cheaply from plastic.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows
1 shows a side view with a partial longitudinal section of an assembled plug-in coupling,
Fig. 2 the same longitudinal section of the coupling at the moment of insertion of the plug-in part and
FIG. 3 shows a cross section along the line 111-111 in FIG. 1.
The plug-in part 1 is elongated and, in addition to the line bore 10, has a connecting pin 12 for attaching a hose, a finely machined, cylindrical sealing surface 9 and a circumferential groove 13 arranged in front of it.
The latter is made relatively wide with a flat bottom and diagonally spaced apart side walls. The counterpart, referred to as a nut, consists of the nut body 7, which likewise has a line bore 14 and has an inner sealing surface 15 with an embedded O¯ring 5 and a connecting nut thread 8. In front of the sealing surface 15 are two recesses 16 extending over 900 of the circumference, the side surfaces of which are designed to narrow obliquely towards the interior of the nut. The sleeve 2, which has an encircling bead 17 directed towards its interior, is mounted on the nut, sliding in the axial direction. A helical spring 6 is inserted between this bead and a shoulder of the nut body, which pushes the sleeve away in the axial direction until the bead
17 strikes against the locking ring 3.
In each recess, a circular ring segment-shaped clamping member 4 is mounted so that it can move radially, the side surfaces of which are directed obliquely inward and the outer surfaces of which are rounded and inner surfaces are axially parallel.
To couple the plug-in coupling, as shown in FIG. 2, the sleeve 2 of the nut is shifted to the right against the force of the spring 6 before the plug-in part 1 is axially inserted. Due to the beveled front part of the sealing surface 9, the clamping members 4 are driven radially outward, which is possible because the sleeve releases the corresponding space when pushed back.
As soon as the plug-in part is fully inserted, the clamping members 4 fall into the groove 13, which also frees the path for the bead 17 and the sleeve slides back into its basic position (FIG. 1).
To release the plug-in coupling, the sleeve 2 is again pushed backwards against the force of the spring 6, and the plug-in part can be pulled out, the clamping members sliding up over the inclined side wall of the groove 13.
Instead of two clamping members 4, three or four members evenly distributed over the circumference, each in its own recess, can be arranged. All clamping elements are in the form of circular ring segments, the inwardly directed surface of these segments having the same radius of curvature as that of the bottom of the groove 13 of the plug-in part 1. This results in surface contact between the clamping element and the plug-in part. But also laterally there is a surface contact between the two parts on the obliquely arranged side surfaces. The outer circumferential surface of the circular segment-like organs are advantageously rounded.
All parts of the plug-in coupling, except for the sealing rings and the spring, are preferably made of solid plastic, which is easily possible since the clamping elements no longer rest in one point but in a surface.
