The present invention relates to a corrosion-resistant valve for corrosive liquids. Such valves are intended for systems through which highly corrosive liquids are conveyed.
Corrosion-protected valves are known which use a completely welded construction into which protective coatings made of materials resistant to caustic liquids, such as plastics, are introduced, coatings which are applied to the inside of the valve. The closing piece of the valve is in turn protected against corrosion and is inserted into the interior of the valve by means of a stuffing box.
However, these valves have the disadvantage that due to the completely welded construction, the linings inside the valve cannot be replaced if they deteriorate and only the replacement of the protective lining of the closure piece is possible, which, due to the way in which it is installed, involves removing the stuffing box can be detached from the welded valve body.
The valve according to the invention is characterized in that it has two housing halves, between which a protective body made of corrosion-resistant material is inserted, into which a closure piece protected against corrosion by a casing is inserted, the seal being ensured by a sleeve made of corrosion-resistant material which has seals compressed inside by a stuffing box.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is then explained with reference to the drawing, which shows a plan view of a valve housing half in section through the closure piece.
The valve according to the invention consists of two housing halves 1, which are assembled with the aid of a few screws, not shown, which can be inserted into holes a provided on the two housing halves 1.
A protective body 2 is inserted between the two housing halves, the outer shape of which corresponds exactly to the inner shape of the housing half 1, the protective body 2 being able to be produced by injection molding, blowing, molding, casting or mechanical processing.
In the interior of the protective body 2, a closure piece 3 is introduced, which in turn is provided with a corrosion-resistant casing 4, the tightness being ensured by a sleeve 5 made of corrosion-resistant material
Seals 6 are inserted into the bush 5 and are pressed by a stuffing box 7 fastened to the two housing halves 1 with the aid of a few screws (not shown), which screws are screwed into the holes b.
The stroke of the locking piece 3 is controlled by means of a nut 8, which is screwed onto the locking piece 3. Inside the nut 8, a drive spindle 9 is mounted, which is guided through a bushing 10 fastened in a support 11. The support 11 in turn is fixed between the stuffing box 7 and the sleeve 5 by means of screws (not shown) screwed into the holes b.
The valve according to the invention offers the following advantages: It allows the corrosion-protected fittings to be typed; When changing the medium flowing through the valve, only the protective body 2 made of material resistant to the corrosive medium may need to be replaced.
- The construction is simple, the assembly easy.
