The invention relates to a method for relieving residual stresses in pipe blanks from a material mixture held together by a binding agent, preferably concrete, which are formed by a radially effective force during manufacture with the aid of a rotating distributor, and also to a device for carrying out the method, wherein the device comprises a platform carrying a tubular shape and a rotating distributor can be guided into and out of the material mixture for the tubular blank with the aid of a power-driven displacement mechanism.
In the manufacture of pipes from a hardenable material mixture, e.g. B. in the production of concrete pipes, the problem arises of the remaining residual stress in the pipe blank when it is formed from the hardenable mass by a rotating filling or distribution. In the conventional devices for producing such pipes, the pipe shape, which determines the external shape of the pipe, is of a stationary construction. As a result, the rotary movement through the distributor or the spatula device builds up tension in the material mixture, which is particularly disadvantageous in the event that a slack reinforcement is provided in the pipe. It has been shown that the wires used for the reinforcement can be stressed beyond the flow point, so that they permanently deform and bend.
This means that the production of a pipe is no longer guaranteed in the desired quality. Furthermore, due to the different modulus of elasticity between the steel and the concrete, an undesirable tension can build up, which can create unnecessary cavities in the finished pipe blank. Such voids obviously reduce the strength of the finished pipe and can also be the cause of leakage paths that build up over the voids.
In the case of non-reinforced pipes, the residual stress and the resulting displacement of the material can trigger cracks, which also reduces the strength of the pipe and causes leakage. Because of these difficulties, one repeatedly comes across the rejection of pipes made with the aid of a rotating distributor or a rotating roller tamper in the trade. It is already known to use vibration cores in the manufacture of concrete pipes (US Pat. No. 1,504,834), the vibration core being able to be guided into and out of the pipe shape with the aid of devices controlled by pressurized fluid. It is also already known (US patent 1961981) to use a sliding core of a tubular shape together with a tamper with which the material mixture is compacted.
Finally, it is known (US Pat. No. 2,544,453) to use a vertically displaceable vibrating core which can be guided into and out of the tubular shape.
With the help of these known devices for the production of pipes, however, it is not possible to solve the problem that arises due to the residual stress that arises in the currently usual production of pipes in the pipe blank, in particular when an upright pipe shape and a rotary distributor is used, which is slowly displaceable along the axis of the tubular shape during the filling of the material mixture.
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a method and a device with which, in the production of pipes from a hardenable material mixture, in particular from concrete, the residual stresses arising during the shaping of the pipe blank can be completely reduced.
Based on the method mentioned at the beginning, this object is achieved according to the invention in that a vibration core with an outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the pipe blank and a length corresponding to the pipe blank is inserted into the pipe blank, and that the vibration core during the introduction for compression of the material mixture and to fill cavities is set in vibration.
According to the invention, the device for carrying out the method consists in that the device comprises a non-rotating core, that there are vibration devices which are used to shape and compress the pipe blank, that a connecting structure is provided for connecting the distributor to the core, and that the core can be guided in a guide system during the vertical displacement.
Using the method according to the invention and the device according to the invention, it is possible to avoid the disadvantages in the production of pipes from a material mixture, in particular concrete, which result from the residual stress which is built up by rotating distributors. The advantages arise for both reinforced and non-reinforced pipes. By using a vibration core, such residual stresses are avoided during the formation of the pipe blank with the aid of the vibration movements fed into the material mixture and the reinforcement. The vibration core according to the invention can also be used to reduce residual stresses and to fill cavities when the tubes are made by another method, e.g. B. are produced in a centrifugal process, a ramming process, or vibration process.
By using the vibration core, pipe blanks produced in this way can be further compacted, whereby a more intimate connection between the reinforcement and the material mixture can also be achieved before the material sets. Another advantage of the invention is that in the production of pipes in the material mixture, aggregates with larger dimensions can be used, which results in a reduction in the absorption of the pipe wall, since better mixing of the material mixture can be achieved through the vibration core and the sand and the aggregates are covered better and more evenly with the binding material.
In a particular embodiment of the invention it is provided that the vibration core together with a rotating distributor, for. B. in the form of a roller tamper, is used, vibrators being arranged on the inside of the vibrating core, which can be switched on one after the other when the core area covered by the vibrator is immersed in the tubular shape. When the tube blank is completely formed, it can be useful to pass the vibrating core through the tube blank again after it has been pulled out, whereby a further reduction of the residual stresses and a reduction of residual cavities is ensured by the introduced vibration.
By only partially pulling out the vibration core and inserting it again, whereby this process can be repeated several times, the vibration additionally introduced into this area can achieve greater compression of the upper or smooth tube area. As a result of this further compression of the smooth pipe end, it may be necessary to supply additional material mixture at the same time in order to ensure proper shaping of the upper pipe end. After the vibration core has acted three times, for example, on the upper smooth end of the tube, the latter is lowered and pulled out of the finished tube blank, which is now removed for setting.
Further advantages emerge from the following description of exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the drawing. Show it:

Fig. 10 is a section through the connection structure between the vibrating core of the machine for the production of cement pipes and a rotating tamper.
1 to 5, a machine for the production of pipes, preferably cement pipes, is shown, as it is already used in its basic structure for the production of pipes. However, this machine is equipped with the features of the invention, whereby the advantages explained in more detail below can be achieved.
The machine comprises a tubular shape 10 with a basically cylindrical structure and can be provided with circular corrugations. The tubular shape 10 has an upper, smooth end 12 and a lower edge which widens in the shape of a truncated cone and which forms the socket end 14. The tubular form 10 is arranged on a platform 16 which has a circular opening 18 centrally below the socket end 14. This platform 16 can be designed as a turntable for setting up the work.
A shaped disk 20 is provided within the socket end 14, which likewise has a circular opening 22 and is aligned concentrically with the opening 18 in the platform 16. The shaped disk 20 is somewhat vertically displaceable within the socket end 14 in order to form the socket end at the beginning of the manufacture of the pipe.
A frame construction, designated 24, is arranged above the platform 16 and is provided with a funnel 26 and a conveyor belt 28 for filling the pipe mold 10 with the material used for the manufacture of the pipe. A distributor 30, which is designed as a tamper, roller compactor or spatula rotating in a circle in a known manner, is used to distribute the raw material and to compress it, where it migrates upwards from the socket end 14 through the raw material filled in via the funnel and the conveyor belt thereby forming the pipe. The frame construction 24 is also provided with a cross head (not shown) which is displaceable in the vertical direction and in which the drive shaft 34 of the distributor 30 is supported and driven.
A pit 36 located below the platform 16 contains the essential parts of the present invention. In the bottom of the pit 36 a sump is provided with a hydraulic cylinder 38 which is equipped with a piston, not shown, which can be displaced in the vertical direction and whose piston rod 40 is displaceable together with the piston in the vertical direction. A frame 14 consists of a multiplicity of vertical supports 42 which are arranged radially next to one another and which are arranged concentrically around the cylinder 38, below the opening 18 in the platform 16. A circular base plate 44 is connected to the supports 42 around the cylinder 38 at the bottom of the pit 36. A corresponding plate 46 is mounted on the upper end of the supports 42, with a plurality of guide rods 48 extending between the base plate 44 and the plate 46.
The plates 44 and 46 also serve at the upper and lower ends as stops for a bearing block arrangement 50, which is vertically displaceable and has bearing sleeves (not shown) which slide freely along the guide rods 48. The bearing block arrangement 50 cooperates with the guide rods 48 and prevents axial rotation of the vibration core 60 according to the invention.
A cylindrical bearing sleeve 52 is mounted on the bearing block arrangement 50 and is connected to the free end of the piston rod 40. The bearing sleeve 52 has a circular opening 54 in its lower end face, in which the cylinder 38 comes to rest when the piston rod 40 is in its lower rest and starting position (FIG. 1). A push rod 56 is connected to the piston rod and runs through the upper part of the bearing sleeve 52. At its upper end, the push rod 56 carries a core platform 58 on which the vibration core 60 is held. This type of fastening enables both axial stability and thrust limitation of the vibration core 60 essentially below the lower end of the vibration core 60, so that the core can be pushed completely into the tubular shape 10 without being hindered by other parts (FIG. 4).
The vibration core 60 is mounted directly on the core platform 58 and is provided with a number of vibrators 62 which are fixed in its interior at a spatial distance from one another.
Immediately below the platform 16 a lifting device 64 is provided for the shaped disk 20, which can be actuated when the socket is formed at the beginning of the pipe production. Such a lifting device is described in detail in U.S. Patent 3,083,433. The lifting device 64 is provided with a vibration plate 66, to which feet 68 are attached, with which contact can be made with the molded disk 20, this can be lifted and set in vibration. A drive plate 70 is fastened directly below the vibration plate 66, both the vibration plate 66 and the drive plate 70 being rotatably mounted within the supports 42. A motor with a suitable gear drives the plate 70, which also causes the shaped disk 20 to rotate during the manufacture of the sleeve.
The lifting device 64 is raised and lowered by suitable drive means (not shown), the stroke being limited by two stops 72 and 74.
A second embodiment of the invention is shown in FIGS. 6 to 9, the machine constructed according to these figures for the production of pipes operating without a lifting device 64. The illustrated machine for producing pipes comprises a pipe mold 10, a frame structure 24, a compressor 30 with a drive shaft 34, a platform 16 in the form of a turntable, and a funnel 26 for feeding the raw material. In a pit 36, a sink shaft with a hydraulic cylinder 38 is provided, the piston rod 40 of which engages directly on the core platform 58. A guided movement for the core platform 58 is brought about by a multiplicity of guide rods 76 which run at a radial distance from one another between the bottom of the pit 36 and a frame part 78 below the platform 16.
Vibrators 80 are attached to the outside of the socket end 14 of the pipe mold 10 in order to compress the material used for the production of the pipe in the area of the socket between the socket end 14 and the shaped disk 20.
Furthermore, rollers 82 are attached to the frame part 78 below the platform 16 and guide the vibration core when it is moved into and out of the tubular shape 10.
In Fig. 10, the connection structure between the rotating compressor 30 and the non-rotating vibratory core 60 is shown. The compressor 30 is held on the rotating drive shaft 84, which is provided at its lower end 86 with a thread which can be screwed into a housing 88 for a bearing and guide stub. A non-rotating mounting pin 90 is mounted inside the housing 88, two thrust bearings being used which are provided with rollers 92 and take up a radial and axial load of the order of magnitude of about 10,000 kg and about 5,000 kg. A guide pin 94 is attached to the lower end of the mounting pin 90 and is chamfered at the free end so that it automatically moves into the locking block 96 when it is inserted. This locking block 96 is rigidly connected to the vibration core 60.
A concentrically running groove 98 is also provided on the guide pin 94, into which a locking pin 100 engages and can be held in the locking position with the aid of hydraulic pressure acting on a piston 104 via lines 102.
The locking pin 100 and the groove 98 are provided with curved stop surfaces so that the guide pin 94 can be released from the locking block 96 by axial displacement when no hydraulic pressure is effective, and the guide pin 94 by an axial displacement can release the locking pin 100 into the piston chamber 106 shifts.
The mode of operation of the two machines described above for producing pipes is essentially the same. In Fig. 1 the machine is shown in the idle state.
In this position, the platform 16 can, for. B. rotated in such a manner, not shown, that the tubular form 10 comes to lie exactly centrally below the compressor 30 and above the vibration core 60.
The manufacture of the pipe begins with the lowering of the compressor 30 together with the housing 88 and the guide pin 94 into the mold 10, as well as the simultaneous lifting of the vibration core 60 with the aid of the cylinder 38. Hydraulic pressure is supplied via the lines 102 and the locking pin 100 into the Groove 98 is pressed so that the rotary compressor 30 and the vibrating core 60 are firmly connected to each other. The mixed material for the production of the pipe is then poured into the pipe mold 10 with the aid of the conveyor belt 28 and the lifting device 64 is raised into the position shown in FIG. The sleeve of the pipe is then made in a known manner by rotating and vibrating the lifting device 64, as described in US Pat. No. 3,083,433.
The rotation of the compressor is opposite to the direction of rotation of the shaped disk 20.
When the sleeve of the pipe is completed, the lifting device 64 is lowered into its rest position according to FIG. The compressor 30 is then pushed upwards by the mixture of the raw material together with the vibration core 60 attached to it with the aid of the cylinder 38, whereby when each vibrator 62 passes through the socket end of the tubular form 10, it is switched on with the aid of an actuating switch, not shown To set part of the vibration core in vibration.
When the compressor 30 reaches the smooth end 12 of the tubular shape 10, the rotary movement is switched off and the hydraulic pressure supplied via the line 102 is reduced.
The compressor 30 can thus be lifted off the vibration core 60 according to FIG. The vibration of the vibration core 60 with the aid of the vibrators 62 is maintained for a short period of time in order to obtain a further compression of the raw material used for the production of the pipe, in particular in the area of the smooth upper end of the pipe form 10. This ensures that any residual stress in the finished pipe that may still be from the rotating compressor 30 is removed.
As soon as the compression by vibration with the aid of the vibrating core 60 is completed, the vibrating core is withdrawn with the aid of the cylinder 38 and a new pipe form 10 is brought into position with the aid of the platform 16, with the finished pipe blank being removed at the same time.
Of course, the vibrators 62 can be replaced or supported by further vibrators that are positioned independently of the invention. The most important thing is that the vibration is introduced into the mixture of raw material as the pipe is being formed to ensure that the material mixture is sufficiently compacted.
The method shown generally above can be supplemented by further steps, if desired. A further improvement of the finished product can thus be achieved. So z. B., as soon as the compressor 30 has reached the upper smooth end 12 of the tubular shape 10, together with the vibrating core 60 to be guided back to the starting position, with a second vertical pass of the vibrating core 60 through the newly formed tube blank with the help of the vibrators to condense further and to smoothen further. At the end of the second pass, the vibration core 60 is in the uppermost position and can be held in this position for a certain time with the vibrators running. This time can be between 1 and 3 minutes and depends largely on the settling rate of the material mixture.
The drier the material mixture, the longer the vibration core 60 should work in the standing state. The vibration core 60 and the compressor 30 can then be lowered again by a short distance and raised again, this distance being e.g. B. can be between 30 and 60 cm long in order to further compress the upper part lying on the smooth end 12 of the tubular shape 10. This short compression stroke should be repeated about three times with all vibrators 62 turned on. A small amount of the material mixture is expediently supplied to the upper end of the tubular shape in accordance with the settling of the material mixture due to the compression. At the end of the third compression stroke, all vibrators are switched off at the same time in order to end the settling.
The compressor 30 is then detached from the vibrating core 60 and the vibrating core is withdrawn from the tube blank as explained above.
The mode of operation of the embodiment shown in FIGS. 6 to 9 corresponds essentially to that of the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 5. The essential difference is that the sleeve of the pipe is formed with the aid of a vibration that is generated from on the outside of the Tubular form 10 in the region of the socket end 14 arranged vibrators 80 is introduced. These vibrators 80 are switched off when the sleeve is formed and remain in the switched-off state during the subsequent production process, as already described above.
Pipe blanks made from a cement material mixture by rotating spatulas or other known methods can be subjected to the method of compaction according to the invention by inserting a vibrating core 60 into the pipe blanks. With the help of this subsequent treatment, residual stresses in the pipe blank can be eliminated and the pipe blank treated in this way can be given the structural build-up that can be achieved when using the invention according to the method described if the vibration influence is already present from the beginning of the forming of the pipe. Blank is effective.
Triangular fracture tests were carried out on concrete pipes shaped according to the invention and the results were compared with corresponding results which were determined on pipes of the same type produced in a conventional manner. Five test specimens were used which contained only 74% of the steel reinforcement as is used for pipes produced by the conventional method. The tests were carried out according to the conditions published in 1963 by the American Society for Testing and Materials under the title Tentative Specifications for Reinforced Concrete Culvert, Storm Drain and Sewer Pipe (C 76-631).
The values given in column D correspond to a test load which is given in 0.45 kg / 0.3 m / 0.3 m diameter of the pipe (pounds per linear foot per foot of pipe diameter). The concrete pipes used for comparison were manufactured according to a known process, taking into account the conditions of the American Society for Testing and Materials, Class IV for reinforced cement pipes.
The test tubes produced according to the invention each have a length of about 2.43 m, a diameter of about 60.8 cm and a wall thickness of about 7.62 cm. The test was performed after about 10 hours of wet treatment.
Manufacturing test D-test load D-test load vibration time 0.27 mm crack break time x x + 2 days 997.9 kg 1533.1 kg 5 min.
(2200 lbs) (3380 lbs) x x + 3 days 918.0 kg 1680.5 kg 5 min.

(2124 lbs) (3306 lbs) x x + 3 days 858.6 kg 1493.7 kg 2 min.
(1893 lbs) (3293 lbs)
The following values result for the 4 comparison pipes manufactured using the known method, whereby it should be noted that the same dimensions apply to the test pipes, stronger reinforcement was used, and a longer storage time is required until the test date.
Manufacturing Preference time D-test load D-test load time 0.27 mm crack fracture xx +50 days 1088.6 kg 1487.8 kg (2400 lbs) (3280 Ibs) xx + 20 days 916.2 kg 1406.2 kg (2020 lbs) (3100 lbs) xx + 10 days 893.6 kg 1505.9 kg (1970 lbs) (3320 lbs) xx + 25 days 952.5 kg 1573.9 kg (2100 lbs) (3470 lbs)
As can be seen from the comparison of the two tables, concrete pipes can be produced with the aid of the invention, which can be produced much faster and have the same quality properties as the known concrete pipes with a much smaller reinforcement effort.
