Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht einer ersten Ausführungsform eines Behälters mit Abdrehverschluss;
Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht auf den Behälter nach Fig. 1;
Plastic container with twist lock
The invention relates to a plastic container for liquids made from a thermoplastic hose with a twist-off closure which has a twist-off tab connected to the container body via a weakened zone.
Plastic containers for liquids with a twist-off closure are already known. These are mainly used for so-called portion packs, the contents of which are completely consumed immediately after opening the pack.
The previously known containers of this type were manufactured in such a way that a terminating piece made of the same material was injection-molded onto one side of a tubular plastic part, which has a cover part connected to the tubular part, a thin-walled cannula and an adjoining twist-off tab. The weakened zone between the container part and the twist-off tab is consequently achieved by a cannula-like constriction which has a significantly smaller material thickness than the rest of the container.
For filling, the containers were turned upside down and, after the liquid had been poured in, sealed on the underside by welding a transverse seam.
Such containers have several disadvantages. Their production, filling and sealing requires several steps and is complex. The manufacturing process also imposes a restriction on a few container shapes. Since the closure is carried out by welding a transverse seam on the floor, it is not possible, for example, to produce containers with a flat floor, a so-called standing floor. The necessity of spraying the twist-off closure part also requires the use of raw materials suitable for this process.
The aim of the invention is to provide a plastic container with a twist-off closure which does not have the disadvantages mentioned, which can be of any shape, e.g.
can have a standing floor and which can be produced and filled in a simpler manner. It can be produced, for example, by extruding a thermoplastic plastic hose in a two-part form by introducing compressed air or by the method described in Swiss Patent No. 439 699. According to this method, it is not possible to produce a weakened zone by producing wall parts with a smaller material thickness.
The invention solves this problem in that the weakened zone is formed by an acute-angled, notch-like constriction.
The angle enclosed by the walls of the container body or the twist-off tab that delimit the weakened zone is preferably not more than 650, preferably 330.
Several exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a side view of a first embodiment of a container with a twist-off closure;
Figure 2 is a plan view of the container of Figure 1;
Figure 3 is a side view of the upper part of a second embodiment of the container; and
Figure 4 is a side view of the upper part of a third embodiment of the container.
The container according to FIG. 1 has a container body 1 which is rectangular in cross section and which has a conical elevation on its upper end face 2 which ends in a notch-like constriction 3 to which the twist-off tab 4 adjoins. This has a cavity 5 which is connected to the container body 1 through the constriction 3. The twist-off tab also has two lateral wings 7 which are formed by weld seams. At the upper end there is a transverse weld seam 6 which is applied after the filling material has been filled.
The notch angle between the container wall and the wall of the twist-off tab should not be greater than 650 so that the tab 4 can be twisted properly.
3 shows an embodiment of a container in which the mentioned notch angle is only 330.
In FIG. 4, an embodiment is shown which also has a notch angle of 330. The lateral wings 7 of the twist-off tab 4, however, are drawn down so close to the conical end face 2 that there is only a gap 8 between the end face and the wings 7. In this way, increased security against unintentional opening of the container by kinking the tab 4 is achieved.
The effect can be further improved if connecting webs 9 are left between the wings 7 and the conical end face 2.
The shape of the container is of course not limited to the embodiments shown. The containers can have any shape. Only the formation of an acute-angled, notch-like constriction 3 between the container body 1 and the twist-off tab 4 is essential.
