Device for switching on an electrical circuit
The present invention relates to an apparatus intended to engage at least one electric circuit on the control of a time instrument.
This time instrument is of the type of that claimed by the holder in his Swiss patent No. 510297. It comprises in particular a box and an outer terminal isolated from the box. It must be fixed to the device in such a way that it is securely held to it and that it can be easily put in place or removed.
The fixing means known hitherto cannot be adapted to this time instrument. They generally consist of two stops, in the shape of a pellet, intended to rest respectively on the case of a watch and on its winding button.
There is then a certain risk of the contacting surfaces slipping which does not exist for the device, which is the subject of the invention.
The apparatus, which comprises a low voltage electrical circuit and two contact stops serving as fixing means of said time instrument and connected to said low voltage circuit, is characterized in that only one of the stops is in direct contact with said time instrument. box, the other cooperating with the outer terminal along an edge formed for this purpose, and in that at least one of the stops is slidably mounted and is subjected to the action of a spring returning it to the other stop .
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a plan view of a first embodiment.
Fig. 2 shows a sectional view along II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a plan view of a second embodiment.
Fig. 4 is an elevational view.
Fig. 1 shows a top view, the cover partially removed, of the first embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention. This device includes a low voltage circuit powered by a battery 1. The positive pole of the battery is connected, by a wire 3, to a relay 2.
The negative pole of the battery is electrically connected to a vertical rod 11, constituting with a similar rod 12 a contact stop resting on the case of a watch, not shown.
A contact stop 9, slidably mounted in a slot 26 of the cover 27 and having a vertical edge 10, is connected to the rod 12 by a tension spring 28. This spring is isolated from the rod 12 by means of an insulating pad secured to this rod. The stop 9 is shown in the drawing in an intermediate position corresponding to the position occupied when a watch is fixed between the contact stops. The watch used has an output terminal isolated from the box and provided with a notch in which the edge 10 engages, the watch case resting against the stops 11 and 12.
A button 29 is provided for manually moving the stop 9.
The stopper 9 is electrically connected to the relay 2 by a wire 8, a contact blade 7, a spring blade 5 embedded in an insulating support 6 and a wire 4.
A parallel connection comprising the switch 13 directly joins the rod 1 1 to the blade 7.
The blade 5 carries an insulating plate 14 coming to rest against a contact blade 15 carrying, as well as the blades 16, 17 and 18, contact pads for closing two high voltage circuits, comprising respectively the blades 15 and 16, and 17 and 18. The blades 16 and 17 are isolated by a pellet.
The plate 14 is also connected by a nylon thread 19 to the hub 20 of the articulation of a lever 21 subjected to the action of a return spring 22.
The armature 23 of the relay 2 acts on the end of a rocker 24, made of insulating material, subjected to the action of a spring 25, which maintains it at rest in the position shown in solid lines. In this position, the rocker 24 retains, by its end, the blade 5 against the blade 7, the high voltage circuit remaining open.
Suppose that a wristwatch has been fixed between the contact stops 9 and 11 and that the circuit is in the position shown in the drawing in strong lines. At the scheduled time, the watch establishes contact between stops 1 1 and 9 and relay 2 is energized. Its frame 23 rotates the lever 24 which releases the leaf spring 5, which pushes the blades 15, 16 and 17 against the blade 18 thus closing the two high voltage circuits. At the same time, the low voltage circuit is interrupted between the blades 5 and 7. The opening of the high voltage circuit is operated manually by means of the lever 21, the wire 19 of which withdraws the blade 5 backwards, the latter being hooked to again at the end of the flip-flop 24. The switch 13 also allows the relay 2 to be energized at all times.
Figs. 3 and 4 show an embodiment comprising folding stops for fixing the wristwatch.
The upper part 30 of a portable radio receiver has a longitudinal slot 31, in which slide two screws 32 and 33 connecting a lower plate 34 to an upper plate 37. A tension spring 35 is hooked, -on the one hand , to the plate 34, on the other hand to a support, integral with the part 30 of the station and electrically connected to the negative pole of the battery 36.
A stop 38 is articulated on the upper plate 37, having an edge in the form of a dihedron 39 and the end of which has a snap 40.
The fixed stop is constituted by a bracket 41 articulated on a plate 42 screwed onto the radio set. This plate is electrically linked to the wire 8 by means of a screw 43 and a disc 44.
In its transverse median part, the stirrup 41 has a hole 43 in which the snap button 40 engages, in the locked folded position as shown in FIG. 3.
Fig. 4 shows the two stops in the raised position, the wristwatch being placed horizontally between the ridge and the two lateral parts of the caliper 41.
It is of course possible to provide the single fixed stop and the double movable stop, or even two movable stops.
These stops are adaptable to any electrical device capable of being controlled directly or indirectly by a reduced current at low voltage switchable by a contact member mounted in a wristwatch.
