Tour automatique
Automatic lap
The present invention relates to an automatic lathe on the frame of which are mounted at least one bar-holder headstock, a guide bush of the bar to be machined, a vertical tool holder support, a horizontal tool holder support and a shaft. cams for controlling the successive operations.
In automatic lathes known to date, the camshaft is located behind the machine, which often makes the cams inaccessible and start-ups complicated.
The present invention aims precisely to obviate this drawback.
The automatic lathe according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the camshaft is arranged above the bar-holder headstock and said tool holder supports.
This arrangement not only makes the accessibility of the cams much easier, but also increases the stability of the lathe and reduces its bulk.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a schematic elevational view of a single-spindle lathe.
Fig. 2 shows a sectional view along II-II.
Fig. 3 shows the vertical tool holder seen from
III-III.
On the frame 1 of the single-spindle lathe shown in the drawing are mounted a bar-carrying tailstock 2, a vertical tool-holder support 3, a horizontal tool-holder support 4 and a camshaft 5, for controlling the components which come from 'be mentioned, this camshaft being housed by a box 6 carried by vertical uprights 7 and 8 fixed to the ends of the frame 1.
The tailstock 2 is slidably mounted, for example on rollers. Means, not shown and known per se, make it possible to advance the headstock, the advance being controlled by the camshaft 5 by means of a mechanical, hydraulic or electrical device. The bar to be machined carried and held by the mobile headstock 2 passes through a guide bush 10 placed in the support 3, which bush can be either fixed or rotating for machining profiled material.
The fixed support 3 carries on the one hand eight tool holders 9a to 9 o'clock, controlled by cams hydraulically or electronically, mounted on radial slides, to come individually to machine the bar carried by the barrel 10, and on the other hand three spindles lla, llb and lic making it possible to carry out recovery work on a segment of cut-off bar.
The support 4 carries a revolving turret with four pins 12a, 12b, 12c and 12d, each of these pins being able to come to occupy, by the rotation of the turret, the position of the spindle 12a in the axis 13 of the bar to be machined. The support 4 can move longitudinally, in particular to the left, making it possible, through the clearance thus obtained, to extract the bar drop from the front, that is to say between the supports 3 and 4. The support 4 carries in in addition to three auxiliary tool holders 14, 15 and 16 making it possible to carry out recovery operations while machining the part using the tools 9, in particular the following operations: milling, tapping, counter-drilling, transverse drilling and slot.
At least one of the pins 12a to 12d is a pin intended for gripping the part detached from the end of the bar to be machined during parting off. On the other hand the four braches 12a, 12b, 12c and 12d rotate on a circle whose projection on the support 3 coincides with a circle passing through the three pins 11a, 11b and lic, so that three of the four pins 12a to 12d are always in front of the three pins lla to llc.
The part supported by one of the pins 12a to 12d can therefore be brought in front of one of the pins 11a to lic in order to carry out a recovery operation for example: counter-centering, counter-drilling, counter- reaming, counter-tapping, counter-splitting or counter-threading. The spindle carrying the part can also be machined by one of the devices 14, 15 and 16. The reworking operation can therefore be done during the machining of the part, without any loss of time, making it possible to accelerate production.
Thanks to the space saved, it is possible to collect the chips in a removable container on which a device with movable arms allows the chips to be removed, near the tools, during the machining of the part. It is therefore possible to separate the oil from the chips.
