Abstract

Plaster compositions consist of (a) conventional ingredients, such as binding agents, inorganic/organic fillers, and foaming and/or gas releasing agents; and (b) a substance selected from polyvinyl compounds, alkylcelluloses, carboxyalkylcelluloses, hydroxyalkylcelluloses, casein, or a mixture of two or more of these substances. The incorporation of component (b) gives plasters which are characterised by improved bonding to substrates, greatly reduced shrinkage, greater ease of application, improved drying rate, and better strength, flexability, and hardness. The plasters are useful in all applications of conventional plasters.

Description

Additional patent to main patent No. 502280 Dry plaster mixture
In the main patent, a plaster is described which binders, inorganic and / or organic fillers. and optionally contains foaming and / or gas-blowing substances, the plaster being characterized in that it also contains a polyvinyl compound, an alkyl cellulose, a carboxyalkyl cellulose or casein or a mixture of two or more of these compounds.

It has now been found that a plaster of the same or even better quality is obtained if the carboxyalkyl cellulose is partially or completely replaced by a hydroxyalkyl cellulose.

The plaster according to the invention is thus characterized in that it contains a hydroxyalkyl cellulose as a cellulose derivative.

As the hydroxyalkyl cellulose, hydroxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, etc. can be used.

It was also found that polyvinyl alcohol is also suitable as a polyvinyl compound and ethyl cellulose is also suitable as an alkyl cellulose.

Carboxyethyl cellulose can also be used as the carboxyalkyl cellulose.

The plasters according to the invention can be divided into different groups, namely group A: containing at least one inorganic
Binders such as lime, cement, gypsum, at least one inorganic filler such as various
Sands, and at least one chemical aggregate.

Group B: As A, but without the addition of organic fillers such as various sands.

Group C: As A, but without the addition of organic binders such as lime, cement and plaster.

Group D: As sub A to C, but with the addition or
Replacement of inorganic fillers, of organic fillers such as cork scrap. Sawdust etc.

Group E: As sub A to C, but with the addition of foaming or gas-inducing substances.

The new plasters preferably consist of two or more of the following products, depending on the application:
1. Inorganic water or air binders such as lime, plaster and cements.

   2. An inorganic or organic filler or a mixture of both, such as sand, rock powder, crushed sand, lime powder, chalk meal, cork scrap, sawdust, etc.

   3. At least one chemical additive.

   Possible additives are:
1. Polyvinyl alcohol in the form of powders, emulsions or dispersions. Both pure products and modifications can be used, such as plasticized products.

   2. Ethyl cellulose in various forms and consistencies or carboxyethyl cellulose.

   3. Casein in various pre-preparations, both powdery, of various degrees of fineness, as well as in softened or pasty form.

Furthermore, you can use the plaster according to the invention even further chemicals known per se, such as. B. plasticizers, setting time modifiers, etc., add.

The plasters according to the invention can be created according to the information in the main patent.

The invention will now be explained with the aid of the following examples, all of the formulations being based on a 50 kg or 30 kg sack as supplied.
