Raumthermostatschaltuhr

Room thermostat timer
The present invention relates to a room thermostat timer for the electrical control of heating and / or air conditioning systems with separate switching time and temperature preselection settings for day and night.
Room thermostat time switches are a combination of room temperature controllers and time switches for adjustable temperature reduction. The room thermostat timer has the task of making the operation of heating and air conditioning systems, especially oil, gas or electrical heating systems, efficient and convenient. The temperature controller keeps the room temperature at a setpoint selected in the range of 10-30 ° C, i. H. the temperature sensor of the controller switches the heating system with electrical on-off signals.
For living, business or manufacturing rooms that are not used for a full 24 hours, but for a longer period of time, e.g. B. are unused at night, the room thermostat timer allows, primarily for economic reasons, to lower the daytime temperature by a few degrees. The time switch automatically switches from day to night temperature and vice versa. The timing of the clock can be adjusted as required from the outside.
There are a variety of Ramuthermostatschaft- clocks in the most varied of training and arrangement known. In one version, the temperature controller has a bimetallic bracket as a temperature sensor that responds to the room temperature. With its free end, it activates a momentary switch via an insulating piece, which controls the heating systems, which respond to an electrical on-off signal. The other end of the bimetal bracket is connected to a mechanism that allows a temperature to be preselected using an adjusting knob, which can also be read on a scale. The temperature is also lowered via the temperature controller, by simulating a higher room temperature for the temperature sensor by means of a heated ohmic resistor.
The greater the heat development of the resistor, the value of which can be preselected in steps, the greater the temperature drop during the period automatically released by the timer. This release is achieved by so-called switch tabs, which are arranged in different colors on a circumferential 24-hour time slice and act on an electrical contact device. In addition to the 24-hour time slice, the above-mentioned room thermostat switches have a stationary 12-hour dial with a pointer indicating the time.
Such room thermostat time switches, in particular their temperature controllers, have the disadvantage that the temperature sensor, d. H. the bimetallic bracket has to do the switching and / or contact work directly with its one free end. It is therefore inevitable - no matter how small the switching work may be, with hysteresis. The temperature absolute value is thus falsified to a considerable extent and cannot be reproduced.
This led to the conclusion that only minimal switching work and thus contact loads should be demanded of the temperature sensor. Another significant disadvantage of such temperature sensors is that for the purpose of lowering the temperature by means of an external heat source, the temperature sensor is simulated to the temperature sensor. Such an indirectly acting heat simulation can only be handled approximately in a defined manner. In any case, it represents a factor that is only approximately equal to the absolute preselection value.
Another disadvantage is that the switch tabs on the time disc that trigger and limit the switching period of the temperature reduction give rise to misunderstandings, since at first glance it is not apparent how long the switching period and where the switch-on and switch-off pulse occurs.
Only a precise check of the dial, possibly with the help of the instructions for use, can provide information.
The object of the invention is to create a room thermostat switch in which all the difficulties described are eliminated. Particular emphasis should be placed on the fact that the temperature sensor is inertia-free, i.e. H. transmits its absolute temperature value to the switching device without hysteresis, and that the temperature sensor is relieved of the switching work. The day and night temperature should also be set separately, according to requirements, in order to position the temperature sensor geometrically in such a way that hysteresis is excluded. Furthermore, it should be ensured that the switching period with its start and end can be seen at a glance even by a non-specialist.
For economic and manufacturing reasons, care should also be taken to ensure that the temperature controller with its preselection device and the time switch with its mechanical and electrical part and with the installation devices and the housing are clearly laid out and arranged.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the timer with a temperature controller and an electrical contact device are arranged in a common housing, the inner end of the bimetallic spiral of the temperature controller is connected to a sensor lever, which is controlled by a synchronous motor via two tactile levers the timer driven feeler wheel is scanned, and that one feeler lever of the upper, the other of the lower absolute temperature correspondingly actuates the electrical contact device, and that the outer end of the secondary metal spiral is connected to a toothed segment mounted concentrically to the inner end, which for the purpose the change of the temperature switching value of the bimetal spiral operated by a lever arrangement from the cam timing disk of the timer, between two adjustable,
the cam limiting the day-night temperature values is moved.
The sensor lever can move freely, depending on the temperature change, and on the front surface of its largest radius on both sides of its body axis, which is perpendicular to the bearing, has a finest toothing. Each of the two gears can be acted upon by a feeler lever, which is then provided with toothed surfaces, and is used to lock the feeler lever and thus the bimetal spiral in its current position during the tactile pause, so that it can pass through again after the feeler lever is acted upon again to release the feeler wheel.
In this way, it can always relocate itself without inertia, depending on the ambient temperature. The width of the toothed end face of the feeler lever and the edge distance between the two toothed surfaces of the feeler lever should be selected so that the toothed end face of the feeler lever is one division wider than the edge distance between the two toothed surfaces of the feeler lever. The distance between the two surfaces is then a measure of the sensitivity and can be increased or decreased according to requirements, i.e. H. the feeler lever serves as a holding circuit for the feeler lever, whereby only one of the two feeler levers is locked on the feeler lever, the other actuates the contact device that switches the heating system with a tension spring assigned to it.
One button causes the switch-on pulse, the other the switch-off pulse.
The pressure on the feeler lever by the feeler wheel can take place periodically, according to the gear reduction, driven by the synchronous motor of the timer. In order to ensure perfect scanning with minimal wear on the feeler levers as well as the feeler wheel, the feeler wheel can be designed in such a way that a face-toothed wheel of the gear reduction is provided with four coaxially arranged rollers mounted on pegs, the corresponding surfaces of the feeler levers with their apply the rolling movement four times per wheel revolution. The advantage of this arrangement is obvious, since any dragging friction of conventional switching cams is eliminated and the feeler levers are actuated according to a sine function.
The day and night temperature can be preselected by means of adjusting knobs, which are provided with friction to the plate, via an associated coaxial cam, act on a gear wheel arranged concentrically on the respective adjusting knob shaft, which is also provided with a cam. The gear wheels are then jointly in engagement with a tooth segment which is arranged concentrically to the bimetal spring. The outer end of the bimetal spring can be positively connected to the toothed segment. The toothed segment can also have a second toothing with a smaller radius, which is then in engagement with a lever device, which is acted upon by the cam timing disk of the timer. To set the time, the cam track of the cam time disk can be changed in terms of angle.
The optically visible sector of the cam track is a measure of the switching period, not just the daytime temperature, but also the nighttime temperature, and can be seen at a glance. The actuation of the lever device by the cam time disk takes place during the daytime temperature period over the entire switching period. The toothed segment and via it the gearwheels that are in engagement with it and are arranged on the adjusting knob shafts are driven until one of the cams of the gearwheels deflects the toothed segment and thus the bimetal spiral spring by running against the respective cam of the corresponding to the switching state Control knobs for day-night temperature setting are limited.
Switching fingers, which are expediently attached to the switching cam disc, are used to set the time by changing the length of the cam track and at the same time act as pointer marks for the 24-hour dial arranged concentrically to the cam time disc, both of which are driven by the output shaft of the timer.
The drive is expediently carried out by a synchronous motor, the rotor of which is separated from the stator, forms a unit with the gear reduction and, with part of this, is housed in a dust-tight, closed gear housing and which is attached to the work plate. The rotor can be driven via a stator iron which, including the stator coil, is enclosed on all sides with a thermoplastic jacket by injection molding except for the air gap, the thermoplastic jacket being designed and shaped in such a way that it is used to accommodate and store the carrier board at the same time The timer with the pointer mechanism and the temperature regulator including the electrical contact device is used.
Furthermore, the power supply contacts can be arranged in the form of a knife in the thermoplastic casing of the stator iron and can be firmly fixed with it.
The contact blades then come into engagement with corresponding contact pieces, which are insulated on a base that can be mounted and installed separately from the room thermostat timer and are connected to installation screw terminals.
The movement of the room thermostat timer can be accommodated in a housing made of thermoplastic material and connected to this by means of self-tapping screws via the thermoplastic casing of the stator iron and the carrier plate.
To cover the switching function parts and as a display scale, a dial can be used which, provided with cams, is attached self-locking on one side in corresponding recesses in the housing and is axially secured on the other side by the temperature setting knobs.
A transparent cover glass, which can be removed for setting the time and temperature and locked in place in the housing, protects the functional parts from dust and from actuation.
Such an arrangement ensures an optimal, hysteresis-free actuation of the electrical contact device that controls the heating system, corresponding to the temperature and time preselection, with the clearest legibility of the set time values.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. Show it:

Fig. 2 is a plan view of the room thermoslaí; switching clockwork with the front work plate removed,
3 shows a view of the synchronous motor assembly with a partial reduction gear,

5 shows a perspective view of the mounting and installation base of the room thermostat timer.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes the front work plate with the time switch mechanism arranged on one side, consisting of the stationary 12-hour dial 2, the hour hand 3 and the minute hand 4.
A dial 5 rotating every 24 hours is mounted concentrically behind the dial 2. For the 24-hour dial 5, the cam time disc 6 can be adjusted in a latching manner for the purpose of setting the switching time by means of the switching fingers 7 arranged on the two end segments of the cam time disc 6. Concentrically behind the cam disk 6 consisting of individual cam blades 8, a marker disk 9 is arranged, which is provided with a color tone that is contrary to the color of the cam time disk 6 for optical reading control of the cam track length.
10 denotes the temperature-sensitive bimetal spiral, the outer end of which is angled between two cylindrical bolts 11 of a toothed segment 12 and is mounted in a form-fitting manner. The toothing 13 of the toothed segment 12 is in engagement with two gears 14 and 15, which are provided with coaxial cams 16 and 17 and are rotatably mounted on the adjusting knob shafts 18 and 19, respectively. The shafts 18 and 19 are adjustable to the work blank 1 by a non-visible friction by means of not shown adjusting buttons. The adjusting buttons, which can be force-locked onto the shafts 18 and 19, are also provided with coaxial cams and are used for day and night temperature preselection.
The toothed segment 12 is rotatably mounted on the shaft 20 and has a further toothing 21 which engages with a spur-toothed lever 22 which is mounted at point 23. The lever 22 is in one direction of rotation via the spring 24 and in its other direction of rotation by means of a pin 25 with a further lever 26. The lever 26 scans the cam timing disc 6 under the action of the spring force 27. Depending on the switching state, the cam timing disk 6 rotates the toothed segment 12 and thus the gears 14 and 15 via the lever arrangement 26, 22. The respective cams 16 and 17 come to rest against the corresponding cams of the control buttons. The outer end of the bimetal spring 10 is thus adjusted and the temperature is increased or decreased over time.
The inner end of the bimetallic spring 10 is non-positively attached to the shaft 20 and rotates the sensor lever 28 depending on the temperature in FIG. 2. The sensor lever 28 has a toothing 29 of the finest pitch on both sides on the end face of its largest radius. Each of the toothings 29 of the sensor lever 28 is scanned by a respective feeler lever 30 or 31, which are mounted concentrically to one another at point 36.
The feeler levers 30 and 31 also have teeth 32, which come into engagement with the teeth 29 as desired. The feeler levers 30 and 31 are periodically scanned by a face-toothed feeler wheel 33 which is provided with rollers 35 mounted on pins 34. The gear wheel 33 is continuously driven via a gear reduction 36 and 37 from the pinion 38 of the non-visible synchronous motor, which also drives the output shaft of the timer with the minute, hour hand and the cam disk shaft 39 via the gear reduction 36 and 48. 41 shows a work plate, 42 identifies spacer pillars for the removed front plate.
43 shows a switch of the electrical contact device which is actuated by the touch lever 30 assigned to it by means of the tension spring 44 in accordance with the release by the feeler lever 28. The tactile lever 31 and the switch assigned to it are not visible from the tactile lever 20 or the switch 43 and are concealed.
In Fig. 3 45 shows the gear housing for the dust-tight mounting of the motor 46 and a partial gear reduction 47 of the synchronous motor, the stator of which with the stator iron and the stator coil is surrounded on all sides with a thermoplastic jacket 48 except for the air gap, which is designed and shaped in such a way that it serves to hold and mount the carrier or factory circuit board 1 or 41 of the timer.
The gear housing 45 is arranged in a non-positive manner on the factory circuit board 41 in the assembled state.
