Fig. 1 ein erfindungsgemässes Befestigungselement in Eingriff mit einem Rahmen und einer diesen umgebenden Wand, in Teildarstellung;
Fastening element with actuating means
The invention relates to a fastening element with actuating means for fastening a body to another body, as well as the use of the same for fastening frames for doors and windows in a wall.
Door and window frames are usually attached by driving nails into the wall material surrounding the frame. This creates ugly spots and depressions that have to be carefully filled in order to be removed if possible, but which are still mostly visible on the painted surface, and furthermore, any adjustment of the frame after attachment is excluded. Since it is not possible to readjust a frame once it has been attached, it must also - if a door, a window or a frame should throw itself later - the door or the window must be removed and processed in order to fit back into the frame.
The main purpose of the invention is therefore to create a fastening element by means of which a body can be fastened to another body in an extremely simple manner and, if necessary, its position relative to this body can be adjusted afterwards. This is achieved by a fastening element with actuating means for fastening one body to another body. which is characterized according to the invention by a screw member with a main part, a first and a second thread part of different pitch, a sleeve which has an internal thread corresponding to the first thread part and an external thread of the same pitch as the second thread part and is screwed onto the first thread part, and further by actuating means for rotating the sleeve and the screw member simultaneously and for rotating the sleeve independently of the screw member.
The invention also relates to the use of the fastening element with actuating means for fastening frames for doors and windows in a wall, which is characterized according to the invention in that the frame is placed in a wall opening provided for it, so that the required number of holes of suitable dimensions in Frame and in the wall are provided that the screw member with the sleeve screwed onto its first threaded part is arranged in an actuating means intended for simultaneous rotation of the screw member and the sleeve, that the screw member with the sleeve is screwed into the bore at the same time until the head of the screw member is fully inserted into the bore.
wherein the screw member is engaged with the wall and the sleeve is simultaneously engaged with the frame, whereupon said actuating means is removed; that after all the screws have been screwed in in this way, the required number of sleeves are rotated with the aid of an actuating means intended to rotate the sleeve independently of the screw member. to adjust the position of the frame in relation to the wall for the purpose of aligning inclined frame parts, and that the holes are closed with plugs.
The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to the drawing, which illustrates an embodiment.
Show it:
1 shows a fastening element according to the invention in engagement with a frame and a wall surrounding it, in partial representation;
2 and 3 show two keys intended for actuating the fastening element.
According to FIG. 1, the fastening element according to the invention consists of a screw member that is generally designated 10. The screw member 10 has a hexagonal head 11, a first threaded part 12 and a second threaded part 13, the transverse dimension of the head 11 being smaller or at most the same as the outer diameter of the threaded part 12. The threaded parts 12 and 13 have different pitches and, as from 1, one part can have a left-hand thread and the other part a right-hand thread.
A sleeve is screwed onto the first threaded part 12, which sleeve is generally designated 14 and has an internal thread corresponding to the threaded part 12. On the outside, the sleeve 14 has a thread with the same pitch as the threaded part 13 of the screw member. In the end of the sleeve 14 facing the head of the screw member 10, recesses 16 are provided for a purpose to be described below.
The screw member 10 and the sleeve 14 are rotatable for simultaneous screwing in using a wrench 17 of the type shown in FIG. The key is intended for use in a motor-driven drill or the like. It consists of a shaft, in one end of which there is arranged a hexagonal hole 18 matching the head 11 of the screw member and having a depth such that the entire head can be inserted therein. Said end also has projections 19 which are distributed around the circumference and have such dimensions that they can be inserted into the recesses 16 of the sleeve. It is evident that when a screw member 10 with a sleeve 14 screwed onto the head 11 is brought into engagement with the key 17, the head 11 being inserted into the hole 18 and the projections 19 being inserted into the recesses 16.
Screw link and sleeve can be rotated together. If only the sleeve is to be rotated for adjustment purposes, the key 20 shown in FIG. 3 is used, which has a cylindrical recess 21 into which the head 11 can be inserted freely rotatably. Furthermore, the key 20 has the projections 19 corresponding projections 22, which are intended to engage in the recesses 16 of the sleeve.
A frame 25 is attached in the following manner with the aid of the fastening element according to the invention, e.g. fixed in a wall 24. First, the frame is placed in the intended position in the opening provided for it and, if necessary, temporarily attached.
A number of holes are then drilled in the frame and wall. the dimensions of which are of course dependent on those of the fasteners to be used. The fastening element is then coupled with the key 17, namely the head 11 with the recess 18 and the projections 19 with the recesses 16. The key 17, in turn, can be used with a suitable tool, e.g. connected to a motor-driven drill. The fastener is then screwed in similarly to a conventional screw, the sleeve 14 being inserted into the frame 25 and at the same time the screw being screwed into the wall 24 since its threads have the same pitch.
After the fastening element has been screwed in so far that the head 11 is completely inserted into the bore, as shown in FIG. 1, the key 17 is removed, whereupon the remaining fastening elements are screwed in in a corresponding manner. After screwing in all the fastening elements, the position of the frame in relation to the wall and the position of the door in relation to the frame are checked. The necessary adjustments are made quite simply by inserting the second key 20 into the bore for engagement of the head 11 of the screw member with the recess 21 and of the projections 22 with the recesses 16. When turning the key 20, as previously mentioned. only the sleeve 14 rotated. while the screw member is not operated: this allows the frame to be moved in relation to the wall 24.
After the position of the frame has been finally adjusted, suitable, preferably removable plugs 23 made of wood, plastic or some other suitable material are inserted into the bore.
A great advantage of this method of fastening with the fastening element according to the invention is that the plugs can be removed if the door, window or frame has thrown after a while and the key 20 can be inserted into the bore to readjust the frame .
As is evident to a person skilled in the art, the adjustment options are dependent on the pitch of the threaded part 12 in relation to the pitch of the external thread 15 of the sleeve and also on whether the threaded part 12 has a left-hand thread or a right-hand thread. The pitch of the threaded part 12 and the external thread 15 and the type of thread cut in the threaded part 12 are of course to be selected taking into account the area of application.
