Abstract
3-Imino-1-substd.-pyrazolidines of general formula (I) and the novel method of prepn. described below R, R1 = H, alkyl, polyhydroxyalkyl, omega-carboxyalkyl, Ph opt. substd., heterocyclyl; or CHRR1 = cycloalkyl R2 = H, alkyl As intermediates to 3-pyrazolidones A mixt. of 3-iminopyrazolidine.H2SO4.(14.7 g.), acetone (5.6 g.), water (100 ml) and Adams Pt (0.2 g.) is shaken in hydrogen at 25-35 deg. until 1 mol H2 has been absorbed. Working up yields 3-imino-1-isopropylpyrazolidine (70-90%), m.p.108-110 deg. (cyclohexane).
