Machine-outil
La fig. 1 en est une vue en élévation de devant;
la fig. 2, une vue en plan de la partie inférieure;
la fig. 3, une vue en plan du support des broches;
Machine tool
The present invention relates to a machine tool comprising a workpiece holder device formed of a movable table in rotation about an axis and supporting a pair of superimposed crossed slides moving in planes perpendicular to said axis.
It is known that the preparation of stamps, and more particularly of cutting stamps, that is to say punches and dies which are mounted on the column blocks of presses in order to produce pieces cut from series in series. bands of metal, for example plates and bridges for clockwork movements, is an operation which must be carried out extremely carefully, not only so that the dies and punches have exactly the required profile, but also so that the punch can slide exactly in the cutting die without risk of jamming and without play.
In general, it is also necessary to prepare guide pieces having exactly the profile of the punch, but which are intended to be placed opposite the punch in the opening of the die to guide counter punches and to play at the same time. the role of extractor.
Usually, milling or grinding machines are used to carry out this work, but as the profile of the dies is generally quite troubled, these machines require a large number of adjustment operations which take a considerable time.
The object of the present invention is to provide a machine making it possible to mill and grind profiles of any shape in a precise and rapid manner thanks to simple and effective adjustment possibilities.
The machine according to the invention is characterized in that it further comprises at least one spindle whose axis is parallel to the planes of movement of the slides and an optical device mounted in the extension of the axis of rotation of the table, adjustable in two directions perpendicular to this axis and capable of simultaneously projecting onto a screen the image of the workpiece fixed to the workpiece slide and that of a tool mounted at the end of said spindle.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the machine according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front elevational view thereof;
fig. 2, a plan view of the lower part;
fig. 3, a plan view of the pin holder;
fig. 4, a plan view of the support of the optical apparatus, and
fig. 5, a plan view of part of a cutting die.
The main parts of the machine described below are visible in fig. 1. They consist first of all of a frame 1 which is mounted on a base 2 and which is fixed. This frame carries, on the one hand, a turntable support 3, on the other hand, a spindle support 4 which is rigidly fixed to the frame 1, and finally an optical device support 5 which is itself rigidly fixed to the frame. support 4.
As can be seen in particular in FIG. 2, the turntable support 3 is mounted on a slide 6 which has a dovetail groove engaged on a corresponding rib disposed vertically on the frame 1. The crank 7 thus allows the support 3 to be moved vertically up and down and from bottom to top.
In addition to this manual control, the machine also comprises means for controlling upward or downward movements of the support 3 by means of a motor at constant speed. Finally, there is also a third possibility for moving the support 3 vertically, by means of a lever (not shown).
The support 3 is not fixed directly to the slide 6 but to a transverse slide 8 which moves horizontally on the slide 6 and which is controlled by a crank 9. The turntable itself 10
is rotatably mounted on a vertical axis. The crank 11
allows you to move it in rotation around its axis.
It has a dovetail vein in the
which moves a lower slide 12 movable in
a horizontal plane and carrying an upper slide 13
also moving in a horizontal plane trans
towards the slide 12. The cranks 14 and 15
ensure the movements of the cross slides 12 and 13,
the upper slide 13 being a workpiece slide
and having openings for receiving organs
fasteners presented by the locking members which
fix the workpieces on the slide 13.
In an alternative embodiment, the support 3 of the
table 10 could be adjustable so that the axis of the
table 10 can be placed in a slightly
oblique with respect to the vertical. As will be seen
further on, it is not necessary that the amplitude of the in
axis clinching is very considerable, given that
this inclination is simply intended to achieve a
relief in the machined stamp.
The spindle support 4 includes a first
doll 16, the pin 16a of which has jaws of
attachment 17 for a cutter (not shown) and a louse
lie on which is mounted a belt 18 for driving
ment of the second spindle 1 9a arranged parallel to
the first in the doll 19. The second pin 1 9a carries, as seen in FIG. 3, a 20 in
thin flat disc shape. The engine of
dragging of the pins is shown at 21 in FIG. 1. It drives the spindle 16a via a belt 22. The crank 23 allows the forward and backward movement of the
spindle support and, consequently, to place the tool in the desired relative position with respect to the workpiece.
During machining, the successive phases are carried out by vertical displacement of the turntable support 3. When it is desired to prepare a cutting die, the latter is divided into a certain number of sectors with flat and parallel end faces, for example two sectors similar to sector 24, each covering 1800. Each sector is mounted successively on the workpiece-holder slide 13 in order to allow the milling of the notch 25 which will form, with the notch of the second sector of the die, the external profile. of the piece to be cut. The removal of material in the blank of the part 24 will be carried out by vertical displacement of the table 10, the part to be machined 24 being fixed on the slide
13.
For the machining of the corresponding punch or of the guide part of the drills, which slides in the cutting die, one can proceed in the same way after having drilled in the blank of the punch an axial passage making it possible to secure the part on the slide 13 by a bolt passing through the drilling blank. This arrangement makes it possible to machine the sections over their entire periphery.
To ensure precision and ease of work, the machine described further comprises an optical device.
This comprises a light source (not shown) housed inside a housing 26; in front of this light source is placed an optical system 27 which sends the radiation emitted by the source vertically downwards so that it is reflected on the workpiece and the reflected rays then form the enlarged image of this workpiece on the The screen 28. The latter is provided with a system of reticular markers which comprises two diametrical lines 29 arranged at right angles and a system of concentric circles 30 equidistant and centered on the point of intersection of the lines 29.
The optical device is carried by a movable support 31 which moves on a slide 32 in a horizontal plane and in a direction perpendicular to that of the movement of the slide 32 on the support 5. The cranks 33 and 34 thus make it possible to move the system. optics 27 and screen 28 in two perpendicular directions. The support 5 and the slide 32 can be provided with graduations which make it possible to locate the coordinates of the axis of the optical system with all the desired precision. Normally, this axis will be arranged so that it coincides with that of the turntable.
However, this relative arrangement is not obligatory and, for example, in order to mill in the part 24 a flat face like the face 35, for example, the optical system 27 can be brought into a position such as the image of the upper edge of this face 35 coincides with the vertical reticle 29. Under these conditions, it will suffice to move the slide 13 by means of the crank.
15 between each vertical pass to mill the whole of this face 35.
Moreover, in order to mill an internal or external circular arc, it is advantageous to make the axis of the optical system 27 coincide with that of the turntable and with the center of the circular arc to be machined on the part. However, when this center has been brought into the required position, the optical system can be moved so that the center of the reticles 29 is located on the arcuate surface to be machined. Thus, the edge of this surface appears in the center of the screen as well as the tool.
The possibility of slightly inclining the axis of the table 10 relative to the vertical makes it possible to produce cutting dies whose flanks are slightly conical in order to allow good clearance of the cut piece.
On the other hand, the general arrangement of the machine makes it possible to machine the punches with a constant profile over a great length. It also makes it possible to cut a very long part with the same profile and then to cut in this part a part intended to form the punch and a second part intended to form the extractor sliding in the cutting die.
The cylindrical passages for the drills can be machined afterwards in the part intended to form the guide part.
Dies and punches can be machined from soft metal and then heat treated to achieve desired hardness. Once these treatments have been completed, the profiles can still be rectified by means of the grinding wheel 20.
For grinding, it will be advantageous to move the support 3 by hand by means of the lever which doubles the rack and pinion displacement system and the motor. The adjustment of the grinding wheel 20 relative to the workpiece will be carried out in the same way as for the milling cutter, although this part is of larger dimensions. However, in the case where the internal roundings to be ground are of very small diameters, the grinding wheel can be profiled by means of a diamond jig which is placed on the slide 13 in place of the workpiece. Then you just have to run into the room with the grinding wheel to obtain the desired rounding.
The optical system 27 provides a ten or twenty times magnified image of the workpiece and the milling cutter. Focusing can be performed on the cutter since the distance between the screen and pins 16a and 19a remains constant. At the start of the pass, when the top face of the workpiece is exactly at the mill axis, the workpiece and tool appear with the same sharpness. It is obvious, on the other hand, that when the table moves upwards during the machining pass, the upper face of the workpiece becomes slightly blurred. However, as the machining is done along surfaces whose generatrices are exactly cylindrical, or have a constant but very low taper, it is sufficient that the position marking is done at the start of the pass.
The milling cutter mounted in the collet 17 can be either an end mill or a radial mill.
In the first case, the machining of flat surfaces will be done by orienting the edge of this surface so that it coincides with the vertical reticle 29, while in the second case the edge of the machined surface will coincide with the reticle. Horizontal 29.
To adjust the exact position of the workpiece relative to the milling or grinding tool, it is possible to rely on the coordinates of the essential points of the profile to be machined and, after having set the position of the table for a first point and brought this point, for example, to the center of the screen, successively move the optical device then the table, locating the new point with respect to the table thanks to the graduations carried by the support 5 and the slide 32. It is thus possible to proceed point by point, by calculation using the micrometric screws operated by the cranks 33 and 34, as well as the movements of the slides controlled by the cranks 14 and 15.
However, it is also possible to pre-mark on the workpiece blank by means of a punching machine, for example, the essential points of the profile. It is therefore sufficient, in order to pass from one machining position to the next, to bring the points marked successively into favorable positions with respect to the reticles.
Finally, it is also possible to carry out the pointing of the blank of the part to be machined by replacing the part 31 on the support 32 by a member carrying a needle. It is thus possible to use the coordinate device 5, 32 to point the blank of the part to be machined in place of a conventional pointing machine.
Thus, the machine makes it possible to perform all the operations which lead to the production of a pair of cutting tools capable of being mounted on a column block with a view to the mass production of parts cut from metal strips.
