Arrangement for fastening a connecting strap between the current and voltage connection of an electricity meter
The invention relates to an arrangement for fastening a connecting strap between the current and voltage connection of an electricity meter using a spacer sleeve on the one fastening screw that engages in the lower-lying connection terminal.
Such connecting straps between the current and voltage connections of the meter are normally permanently connected to both connections. They are only released for test and measurement purposes to separate the voltage circuit from the electrical circuit. The connecting strap consists of a fork-like part which, when the connection is loosened, is displaced on the fastening screw engaging in the voltage connection and pulled out of the area of the fastening screw engaging in a current terminal.
The spacer sleeve attached to the latter fastening screw serves as a screw base for clamping the connecting strap. If the connecting strap is loosened, there is a risk that the spacer sleeve will slide so far onto the screw head of the fastening screw due to jolting that it is difficult to reconnect the connecting strap. The connecting strap cannot then be pushed between the underside of the screw head and the spacer sleeve. The fastening screw is u. U. on the assumption that the connecting tab is properly inserted, tightened. This can lead to incorrect switching. Apart from that, however, pushing back the spacer sleeve is also difficult because it only has the diameter of the screw head and is therefore difficult to grasp with a tool.
The invention aims to avoid the disadvantages mentioned at the beginning and achieves this according to the invention in that the spacer sleeve is provided at its lower end with a collar which engages under a shoulder of a terminal block wall.
The invention is explained in more detail using the drawing, for example.
Fig. 1 shows in plan view part of the terminal block of an electricity meter, while
FIG. 2 shows a section along the line A-B of FIG.
In the terminal block 1, current terminals 2, 3 are arranged, which protrude with one end 2a or 3a into the actual meter housing, which is no longer shown. Each power connection terminal is provided with clamping screws 2b, 2c or 3b, 3c for connecting conductors (not shown). A fastening screw 4, which engages in the power connection terminal 2, is used to establish an electrical connection via a connecting strap 5 to a voltage connection 6 which is higher than the power terminals. The difference in height between current terminal 2 and voltage connection 6 is compensated for by a spacer sleeve 7 which is provided with a collar 7a at its end facing current terminal 2. The fork-shaped connecting strap is clamped with the free legs between the spacer sleeve 7 and the head of the fastening screw 4.
With the help of a screw 8 it is attached to the voltage connection. The web-side end of the connecting strap has an angled portion 5a which can be attacked with a tool when the strap is moved. The collar 7a of the spacer sleeve 7 engages under a shoulder 9 of the wall 10 separating the terminal block from the actual meter housing.
In the position shown, the connecting strap is in its normal position; H. it is connected to the current terminal 2 or to the voltage connection 6 with the aid of screws 4 and 8. An electrical connection between the current terminal 2 and the voltage connection is thus established via it.
If the connecting strap is to be loosened for testing and measuring purposes, screws 4 and 8 must be loosened. The connecting strap can then be displaced with the aid of a screwdriver which engages the angled portion 5a that the free legs come out of the area of the fastening screw 4. The restoration of the connection does not cause any difficulties, since the spacer sleeve is held because of the collar 7a engaging under paragraph 9 and the distance between the upper edge of the spacer sleeve and the screw head of the screw 4 is sufficiently large so that the legs of the connecting tab 5 easily between the screw head and the end of the spacer sleeve can be pushed.
