Fig. 2 einen Ausschnitt eines Einsteckdeckels im Schnitt;
Set of cans, consisting of a plastic and a metal can container and a push-in lid that can be attached to each container
The invention relates to a set of cans, consisting of a plastic and a metal can container and an insertable lid that can be applied to each container and that has an upstanding peripheral wall delimiting the lid base, and consists in the fact that in the upper region of the side wall of each can container there is an inwardly protruding projection it is attached that the circumferential wall of the cover is stepped and on the outside has two shoulders that are spaced one above the other with a downward-facing stop surface,
of which the upper protrudes outwards compared to the lower one and that a circumferential locking projection is attached to the outside of the wall of the lid at a distance below the lower shoulder and the upper shoulder is formed by an annular projection, the upwardly directed surface of which serves as a stacking surface, When the plug-in lid is placed on the plastic can container, the upper stop surface of the lid rests on the container edge and the latching projection of the lid engages under the projection of this container in a clamping manner and when the plug-in lid is placed on the metal can container, the lower stop surface rests on the projection of this container and the latching projection of the lid rests on the projection of the container engages under clamping.
In this way, the same lid can be used both for the can container made of plastic and for that made of sheet metal, which at the same time enables the can container construction to be adapted to the conditions arising from the material side; In addition, such cans made of the two different materials can be stacked on top of one another in any order.
It is possible in the case of can containers made of plastic to keep the discontinuity in the wall which interacts with the lid to a minimum.
The subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, for example. It shows:
2 shows a detail of an insert cover in section;
Fig. 2 shows a detail of the lid placed on a plastic can container according to Fig. 1 and
3 shows a detail of the lid according to FIG. 1 placed on a tin container made of sheet metal.
The plug-in cover 1 shown in FIG. 1 is made of plastic and has a circular, horizontal base 2 which is connected at its periphery to an upstanding, essentially cylindrical wall 3. The wall 3 has at a small distance above the base 2 an annular projection 12 which is delimited by two inclined planes intersecting at an obtuse angle. Below the projection 12, the wall 3 is beveled on its outside, the bevel extending from top to bottom and inside coinciding with the lower of the two planes delimiting the projection 12.
The wall 3 is set off in a step-like manner to the outside at a distance above the projection 12, a first shoulder 4 being formed with a downwardly directed horizontal stop surface 5. At a distance above the stop surface 5, the outwardly offset section of the wall 3 has a horizontally outwardly protruding ring-like projection which forms a second shoulder 6 with a downwardly directed stop surface 7. The shoulder 6 at the same time forms the stacking ring and its upwardly directed surface serves as a stacking surface 8. In the area of the shoulder 6, the upstanding wall 3 is inclined inward and upward and projects a little upward from the shoulder 6.
A horizontal grip ring 9 adjoins its upper end, which partially protrudes radially inward and is provided at its inner end with a downwardly protruding bead ring. The bottom 2 is provided with a downwardly projecting, circular ring 10, which is laterally bounded by walls running downwards towards one another. The outer diameter of the ring 10 in the area of its attachment parts is slightly smaller than the diameter of the opening 11 enclosed by the grip tab 9, so that the ring 10 engages in the opening 11 when the insert covers are stacked on top of one another.
FIG. 2 shows a can container 13 made of plastic, the opening of which is closed with the plug-in lid 1 according to FIG. The can container 13 has a circular cylindrical body 14 which has a substantially constant wall thickness. Somewhat below its upper edge, the fuselage is provided with an inwardly protruding annular bead 15. The ring bead is bounded by two planes that intersect at an obtuse angle. When the cover is inserted, its upper stop surface 7 comes to rest against the upper edge of the can body 14 and its locking projection 12 under the radially innermost point of the projection 15 of the can body. The opposing limita- tion planes of the two projections 12, 14 have approximately the same inclination. The lid is thus clamped onto the upper end of the can container and closes it off.
In continuation of the body 13, the can container has a downwardly projecting, annular foot
16, with which the can can be placed on the stacking surface of the shoulder 6 of an underlying can for the purpose of stacking the cans.
FIG. 3 shows a can container 17 made of sheet metal, partially shown, the opening of which is closed by the plug-in lid 1 according to FIG. The can container 17 also has a circular cylindrical body
18 on. In the upper part of the body, the sheet metal is bent back onto itself against the inside of the can body and thereby forms an outwardly protruding edge 19 bent over. When the cover is inserted, its lower stop surface 5 comes to rest against the upper limit of the projection 20 and its projection 12 just below the lower limit of the projection 20, so that the cover 1 completely closes the can opening and is clamped onto the projection 20.
The lower part of the can, not shown, also has a projecting, annular foot with which the can can be placed on the stacking surface of the shoulder 6 of an underlying can for the purpose of stacking the cans.
In order to remove the plug-in lid 1, it must be grasped at the handle ring 9 of the plastic or sheet metal can container and pulled out of its clamping position.
