Filtre pour fumée de tabac
La présente invention a pour objet un filtre pour fumée de tabac, notamment pour cigarette, comprenant un corps tubulaire au travers duquel est disposée une paroi percée d'une fente.
Le filtre selon l'invention est caractérisé par le fait que cette paroi est en forme de cuvette circulaire, la fente étant aménagée transversalement dans une partie de la paroi de la cuvette et débouchant dans une chambre annulaire.
Le dessin annexé représente, schématiquement et à titre d'exemple, deux formes d'exécution du filtre selon l'invention.
La fig. 1 est une vue à grande échelle et en coupe axiale de la première forme d'exécution;
la fig. 2 étant une vue semblable à la première d'une seconde forme d'exécution.
Ce filtre pour fumée de tabac est tout particulièrement utile pour l'incorporation dans une cigarette 1. Ce filtre comprend un corps tubulaire 2 destiné à être entouré par le papier 3 formant l'enveloppe de la cigarette 1. Ce corps tubulaire 2 porte une paroi 4 disposée transversalement à la cigarette 1. Comme le montre la fig. i cette paroi 4 est en forme de cuvette circulaire à bord 5 rabattu. Dans cette forme d'exécution, le corps tubulaire 2 forme une seule pièce avec la cuvette 4 dont il constitue un prolongement du bord rabattu 5. Une fente 6 est aménagée transversalement dans une partie de la paroi latérale 7 de la cuvette 4. Cette fente 6 est obtenue par une opération de coupe du corps tubulaire 2 et simultanément de la paroi latérale 7.
Toutefois, une fois le cylindre en place à l'intérieur du papier à cigarette 3, la fente 8 provoquée par la coupe à travers la partie tubulaire 2 est obturée par le papier 3, seule la fente 6 aménagée à travers la paroi latérale 7 de la cuvette 4 restant ouverte. A l'état de repos, les bords de cette fente 6 sont pratiquement parallèles. Ce filtre formé du corps tubulaire 2 et de la cuvette 4 est de préférence établi en matière plastique moulée, pressée ou mis en forme de n'importe quelle manière connue. La dose de tabac 9 se trouve au voisinage de l'une des extrémités du filtre, en l'occurrence le bord rabattu 5 de la cuvette 4.
L'autre extrémité de la cigarette 1 est de préférence munie d'un embout 10 en papier constituant l'embout destiné à être engagé dans la bouche du fumeur. I1 est à noter que cet embout 10 pourrait également être engagé à l'intérieur de la partie tubulaire 2.
Le fonctionnement de ce filtre a lieu de la manière suivante
Lorsque, après avoir allumé sa cigarette, le fumeur exerce une aspiration sur l'embout 10, la dépression créole au moment de cette aspiration dans la partie 11 du filtre située à l'intérieur du corps tubulaire 2, permet à la fumée de passer par la fente 6. La fumée de tabac peut ainsi s'engager dans la fente 6 à l'intérieur de laquelle elle est accélérée, pour ensuite diffuser dans l'espace 11 du corps tubulaire 2 en direction de l'embout 10 et de la bouche du fumeur. L'accélération à laquelle sont soumises les particules de nicotine, goudron ou autres produits entraînées par la fumée lors de leur passage par la fente 6 fait qu'une partie de ces particules est projetée contre la paroi interne du corps tubulaire 2 située en regard de la fente 6.
Il se produit donc à cet endroit un dépôt 12 de goudron, nicotine et autres produits. L'autre partie des goudrons, nicotine, etc. se dépose en 16 sous l'effet de la décompression sur les bords externes de la fente 6 qu'ils obturent partiellement. La présence du corps tubulaire 2 permet d'éviter que le papier 3 de la cigarette I ne soit taché par les dépôts 12 de goudron et autres produits. Comme au sortir de la fente 6 la fumée de tabac débouche dans une chambre annulaire 13 de section relativement importante, on est assuré que la majeure partie des produits nocifs entraînés par la fumée est recueillie dans la chambre annulaire 13.
La seconde forme d'exécution représentée à la fig.
comprend les mêmes éléments principaux que la première, c'est-à-dire que le filtre est également formé du corps tubulaire 2, de la cuvette 4 et de la fente 6. Toutefois, dans cette seconde forme d'exécution, la partie de la paroi formant le bord rabattu 5 de la cuvette 4 présente au moins un repli annulaire 15 destiné à donner de la souplesse radiale à ce bord rabattu 5. Ce repli annulaire 15 a pour avantage d'éviter toute déformation de la cuvette 4 et, ainsi, toute ouverture intempestive de la fente 6 en cas de pression exercée par les doigts ou les lèvres du fumeur sur le corps tubulaire 2. Bien entendu, en variante, le bord rabattu 5 de la cuvette 4 pourrait présenter plusieurs replis annulaires concentriques.
Le fonctionnement de cette seconde forme d'exécution est en tous points semblables à celui indiqué pour la première. En variante encore, au lieu de ne prévoir qu'une opération de coupe transversalement au filtre pour former la fente 6, on pourrait envisager plusieurs opérations de coupe effectuées transversalement à la paroi latérale de la cuvette 4 en divers points et, notamment, à divers niveaux de la paroi latérale de cette cuvette 4 de manière à agrandir la section de passage pour la fumée de tabac.
Le filtre décrit ci-dessus en regard du dessin était appliqué à'une cigarette. Il va de soi qu'un tel filtre pour fumée de tabac pourrait également être disposé soit dans un fume-cigarette, soit éventuellement dans une pipe.
Tobacco smoke filter
The present invention relates to a filter for tobacco smoke, in particular for cigarettes, comprising a tubular body through which is disposed a wall pierced with a slot.
The filter according to the invention is characterized in that this wall is in the form of a circular bowl, the slot being arranged transversely in a part of the wall of the bowl and opening into an annular chamber.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, two embodiments of the filter according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view on a large scale and in axial section of the first embodiment;
fig. 2 being a view similar to the first of a second embodiment.
This filter for tobacco smoke is very particularly useful for incorporation into a cigarette 1. This filter comprises a tubular body 2 intended to be surrounded by the paper 3 forming the envelope of the cigarette 1. This tubular body 2 carries a wall 4 arranged transversely to the cigarette 1. As shown in FIG. i this wall 4 is in the form of a circular bowl with a folded edge 5. In this embodiment, the tubular body 2 forms a single piece with the bowl 4, of which it constitutes an extension of the folded edge 5. A slot 6 is formed transversely in a part of the side wall 7 of the bowl 4. This slot 6 is obtained by a cutting operation of the tubular body 2 and simultaneously of the side wall 7.
However, once the cylinder is in place inside the cigarette paper 3, the slit 8 caused by the cut through the tubular part 2 is closed by the paper 3, only the slit 6 made through the side wall 7 of bowl 4 remaining open. In the rest state, the edges of this slot 6 are practically parallel. This filter formed of the tubular body 2 and the bowl 4 is preferably made of plastic material molded, pressed or shaped in any known manner. The dose of tobacco 9 is located near one of the ends of the filter, in this case the folded edge 5 of the bowl 4.
The other end of the cigarette 1 is preferably provided with a paper tip 10 constituting the tip intended to be engaged in the mouth of the smoker. It should be noted that this end piece 10 could also be engaged inside the tubular part 2.
The operation of this filter takes place as follows
When, after having lit his cigarette, the smoker exerts a suction on the nozzle 10, the creole depression at the time of this suction in the part 11 of the filter located inside the tubular body 2, allows the smoke to pass through the slit 6. The tobacco smoke can thus engage in the slit 6 within which it is accelerated, to then diffuse into the space 11 of the tubular body 2 in the direction of the nozzle 10 and the mouth of the smoker. The acceleration to which the particles of nicotine, tar or other products entrained by the smoke are subjected as they pass through the slot 6 causes a part of these particles to be projected against the internal wall of the tubular body 2 located opposite slot 6.
A deposit 12 of tar, nicotine and other products therefore occurs at this location. The other part is tars, nicotine, etc. is deposited at 16 under the effect of decompression on the outer edges of the slot 6 which they partially close off. The presence of the tubular body 2 makes it possible to prevent the paper 3 of the cigarette I from being stained by deposits 12 of tar and other products. As, on leaving the slot 6, the tobacco smoke opens into an annular chamber 13 of relatively large section, it is ensured that the major part of the harmful products entrained by the smoke is collected in the annular chamber 13.
The second embodiment shown in FIG.
comprises the same main elements as the first, i.e. the filter is also formed of the tubular body 2, the bowl 4 and the slot 6. However, in this second embodiment, the part of the wall forming the folded edge 5 of the bowl 4 has at least one annular fold 15 intended to give radial flexibility to this folded edge 5. This annular fold 15 has the advantage of avoiding any deformation of the bowl 4 and thus , any untimely opening of the slot 6 in the event of pressure exerted by the fingers or the lips of the smoker on the tubular body 2. Of course, as a variant, the folded edge 5 of the bowl 4 could have several concentric annular folds.
The operation of this second embodiment is in all points similar to that indicated for the first. As a further variant, instead of providing only a cutting operation transversely to the filter to form the slot 6, it would be possible to envisage several cutting operations carried out transversely to the side wall of the bowl 4 at various points and, in particular, at various levels of the side wall of this bowl 4 so as to enlarge the passage section for the tobacco smoke.
The filter described above with respect to the drawing was applied to a cigarette. It goes without saying that such a filter for tobacco smoke could also be placed either in a cigarette holder, or possibly in a pipe.
