Press for compacting pourable masses The invention relates to a press for compacting pourable masses, which has a movable mold and two press rams, at least one of which is movable, the moving parts being actuated by at least one piston drive each.
Presses of this type are mainly used for the production of block anodes, which are used in smelting furnaces for smelting aluminum. These are subject to constant burn-up and must therefore be replaced periodically.
Presses for compacting pourable masses are already known. They are generally designed as hydraulic presses and have at least one thrust piston drive for the movable ram as well as for the mold, which is acted upon by a pressure source. Depending on the size of the press, a special pressure pump is provided for each thrust piston or the output of a single pressure pump is divided and the respective partial output is supplied to the relevant piston drive.
The use of two pumps or one pump with a distribution device are relatively expensive and have the effect that the system is relatively complicated.
The invention now shows a way to simplify the hydraulic part of such a press and get along with a single pressure pump even in large systems, and is characterized in that the cylinder chamber of at least one piston drive of the movable ram with the cylinder chamber of at least one piston drive the mold is connected in series.
The invention is shown in the accompanying drawings for example. 1 shows a schematic representation of a press for compacting pourable classes with the movable press ram and the mold in its lowest position (and FIG. 2 shows the press according to FIG. 1 with the movable press ram and the mold in the position at the end of the pressing.
The press according to FIG. 1 schematically shows a press frame 1 with a lower yoke 2 and an upper yoke 3. The lower yoke 2 contains the press cylinder 4 and the cylinders 5, 6 of the rapid traverse or idle thrust piston drives 8 9, the pistons of which, like the press piston 12, are connected to the press table 13 on which the press ram 14 is attached.
The thrust piston drives 8, 9, cylinder 4 and piston 12, press table 13 and Stzmpel 14 form the movable ram, opposite to which the fixed ram 15 is arranged on the upper yoke 3. Between the two press rams, there is the mold 16, which is raised and lowered on the one hand by the single-acting push piston drives 17, 18 and andcrs: its by the double-acting push piston drives 19, 20.
The hydraulic equipment of the press comprises an unspecified pressure source 21 which acts on the press piston 12 via line 22 and lines 23, 24, the thrust piston drives 8, 9 and via line 25 after opening the electromagnetically operated shut-off valve 26. In this part of the hydraulic system, a filling valve 27 is arranged, through which during the idle stroke of the movable ram via line 28, for example, the container can be connected to a compressed air acted upon pressure medium,
Pressure medium can enter the press cylinder 4 directly. The filling valve 27 is actuated via control line 29.
The piston rod-side cylinder chambers of the thrust piston drives 8, 9 are connected to the thrust piston drives 17, 18 of the mold 16 via lines 30, 31 and lines 33, an electromagnetically operated four-way valve 34 being arranged between line 32 and line 33.
The line connection 35 with the check valve 36 is used to suck in pressure medium from a container (not shown) via line 37. In line 32, a Stcucr line 38 branches off, via which a throttle valve 40 is actuated.
The piston rod-side cylinder chambers of the thrust piston drives 19, 20 are connected to a line 41 in Ver connected to the control valve 34. In the position of the valve 34 shown in Fig. 1, the line 41 is acted upon via line 42 from a container is not provided.
The piston-side cylinder spaces of the thrust piston drives 19, 20 are fed by means of lines 43, 44 via line 45 from a container (not shown), with an electromagnetically actuated shut-off valve 46 enabling the line 45 to be closed. The throttle valve is connected in parallel to the shut-off valve 46 with lines 47, 48.
The size of the effective piston areas of the various thrust piston drives is coordinated with one another. For example, the piston-side surface of the thrust piston drives 8, 9 and the thrust piston drives 19, 20 have the same area, while the areas corresponding to the piston-side surfaces have half the area. Furthermore, the area of the piston rod of the push piston drives 17, 18 is the same size as the piston rod-side area of the push piston drives 8, 9 or 19, 20.
It is essential that the thrust piston drive 8, 9 and the thrust piston drive 17, 18 in S; rie are switched.
The pressing of the pourable mass takes place as follows: In the position shown in Fig. 1, which corresponds to the under most position of the ram 14 and the mold ent, the cavity formed by the mold 16 and the punch 14 with pourable mass 50 ge fills. In this position, the check valve 26 is closed, the check valve 46 is opened and the switching valve 34 is in that position in the line 41 with line 42 a related party.
Now pressure medium flows via line 22, 23, 24 into the thrust piston drives 8, 9 and lifts the movable plunger, at the same time the filling valve 27 is opened via control line 29 and pressure medium flows into the press cylinder 4. At the same time, the pressure medium is displaced from the cylinder space on the piston rod side of the push piston drives 8, 9 and reaches the push piston drives 17, 18 via line 30, 31, 32 via the switching valve 34.
Since their effective areas are the same size, the mold 16 moves, apart from any minor leakage losses that may occur, synchronously with the punch 14. If the punch 14 and mold 16 go high enough, the fixed ram 15 enters the mold and the actual pressing stroke begins. At this point, the valves are switched over in the sense that the shut-off valve 26 is opened, the shut-off valve 46 is closed and the switching valve 34 is switched over, so that line 32 is connected to line 33 and line 41 via valve 34.
The oil displaced from the thrust piston drives 8, 9 is now divided equally between the thrust piston drives 17, 18 and 19, 20, so that the mold now only moves at half the speed of d: m Press ram moved. This different movement between the mold and the press ram has the effect that the two press rams synchronously, i. H. penetrate into this at the same speed relative to the mold.
As a result, a uniform compression of the pourable mass 50 is achieved, so that a pellet is disfigured which corresponds to the requirements with regard to strength and quality of the fire. The pressing process creates a certain pressure in the line 32, which is passed via the control line 38 to the throttle valve 40, whereby this valve is continuously switched to unthrottled passage.
At the end of the pressing stroke it happens that because of the great friction of the mass 50 and the wall of the Ko kille 16 is so large that the mold is not moved by its push piston drives, but seeks to move at greater speed. As a result, the pressure in the line 32 and thus in the control line 38 drops and the throttle valve 40 switches to throttled passage. As a result, a pressure builds up in the piping system 43, 44, 47, whereby the advance of the mold 16 can be effectively prevented.
The setting of the throttle in the throttle valve 40 can be set out in an adjustable manner.
The advantage of the press according to the invention is that only a single pressure source is necessary for pressing the pourable mass, but no branch of pressure medium into the thrust piston drives of the mold is necessary; This is because the thrust piston drives are acted upon by the pressure medium from the cylinder spaces of the thrust piston drives 8, 9 on the piston rod side. In addition, the control required here is much simpler than if, for example, a
Follow-up control controlled by a sensor is used for the Ko kille. Here only a single control valve 34 is necessary, which in one position ensures synchronization between the movable ram and mold and in the other position ensures half the speed of the mold.
In principle, it would be possible to use other speeds. to choose the conditions for the mold as a synchronism and half the speed of the movable plunger. The switching of the thrust piston drives attacking the die and their loading by the thrust piston drives of the movable press ram with the interposition of at least one control valve is not changed here.
