Die Faltbahnen I bzw.
In jeder Faltbahn I bzw.
Method and device for wrapping items of goods
The invention relates to a method for wrapping items of goods, in particular from the confectionery industry, in a blank of wrapping material and at the same time shows a particularly useful embodiment of a device performing the method.
The invention is to be used with particular advantage in the packaging of chocolate pieces and other pieces of confectionery. For the packaging of such parts packing devices have been used up to now in which the item of goods to be packaged, lying on a lifting ram, is pushed through a folding or brush shaft together with the separately supplied blank of wrapping material.
In this, the U-shaped wrapping of the wrapping material blank takes place around the object which, after exiting the folding or brush shaft, is grasped by grippers and guided past the folding elements that supply the wrapping material protruding at the ends or the bottom fold a closed package envelope around the item.
Although the items of goods can be pushed through a folding or brush shaft in very quick succession, the work performance of the entire packing device remained relatively low, since in addition to the folding or brush shaft, a large number of folding members are active, the work of which is time-consuming. Another shortcoming of the known machines was the considerable construction effort that was necessary in order to properly drive the individual folding elements and to bring them into use one after the other.
The invention remedies these shortcomings of the previous packing methods and packing devices by, according to the invention, alternately transferring the partially wrapped goods pieces after passing through the folding or brush shaft to at least two folding paths formed by cooperating gripping and folding elements and packing them in them during a batch run will. The two folding tracks associated with a common folding or brush shaft with the associated gripping and folding members work expediently in a shifted manner.
Several sets of folding members are advantageously assigned to a brush shaft, each of which is used in separate folding paths and is alternately loaded.
The device for carrying out the method according to the invention is characterized in that at least two folding tracks with folding members working therein are connected downstream of a folding or brush shaft working together with a lifting ram, and that between the folding or brush shaft and the folding tracks one alternates after one or the other folding track working transfer device is switched on for the items of goods pushed through the shaft.
In addition, base folders, known per se and cooperating with the transfer device, are expediently provided for placing the downwardly protruding edges of the wrapping material blank on the bottom of the item of goods.
Each folding web expediently has a number of workstations lying one behind the other for performing the various folds and, on their sides, folding members corresponding to the folds. The folding elements provided on both sides of the work stations can each sit on a common carrier, which in turn can be moved transversely and longitudinally to the folding path and, for this purpose, is connected to a control drive which, intermittently and one after the other, closes the carrier with the folding elements in order to carry out the folding, in the closed state by the distance of a work station in the conveying direction of the Wa renstück advances, opens and in the open position moved back to the previous position.
The control drives assigned to the individual folding tracks work advantageously in a shifted manner.
Preferably, each folding track has a work table and over each work station in the work cycle controlled holding stamps which press and hold the item of goods on the table during the folding.
Further details of the invention are reproduced in the attached drawings and explained with reference to the same, the drawings showing an embodiment of a device operating with two folding tracks in different working positions.
Show in detail:
FIGS. 1 to 4 show the device according to the invention in a front view in different working positions,
Fig. 5 to 8 the same device in plan view in different working positions and
9 and 10 side views of the folding web in different working positions of the folding members used, on a larger scale.
The goods items 2 to be packaged, for example candies, chocolate pieces or the like, are fed to the packaging point on a band I in the direction of the arrow. They arrive one after the other on a vertically ascending and descending lifting ram 4, which is arranged at the end of the belt I and which presses the respective item 2 with the wrapping material blank 3 placed over it up through a folding or brush shaft 6, in which the wrapping material blank 3 is placed in a U-shape around the item 2.
Through the folding shaft 6, the partially packaged goods piece 2 is grasped from both sides by holding jaws 7, 7 'which sit on control shafts 8 and 8'. The two control shafts 8, 8 ', which, in addition to the holding jaws 7, 7', also carry a further pair of holding jaws 9, 9 ', sit axially displaceably in lateral guide bearings 10, 10'. They are axially displaced via control rods 11, 11 'acting on the ends of the shafts, the control rods being driven in the desired manner by cam disks 12, 12'.
In order to grasp the item of goods that has emerged from the folding shaft 6, the control shafts 8, 8 'are first displaced against one another, so that the jaws 7, 7' lie against the item of goods 2, 3 from the side and detect it.
The joint movement of the control shafts 8, 8 ′ then takes place in one direction or the other in order to move the item of goods laterally out of the area of the folding shaft 6.
Immediately above the folding shaft 6, bottom folders 13, 13 ′ are arranged which place the downwardly protruding edges of the wrapping material blank on the bottom of the item of goods. The wrapping material blank 3 now forms a tube lying around four sides of the package 2, open at the end faces, which must be appropriately folded or folded at the end faces to complete the packaging casing. This takes place in the folding tracks arranged downstream of the folding shaft 6.
On both sides of the folding shaft 6 there are lifting devices which each consist of punches 15 and counter punches 15 ′ and each lie in the central axis of a folding web I or II to be described. Anderscits are the two folding tracks above the folding shaft 6 in the working level III, in which the forehead folders work.
The folding tracks I and II each have a work table 16, on the upper side of which the work stations b, c and d are formed. The lifting rams 15, 15 'are located in front of the table 16 in a transfer station a and behind the table is a transfer station e in which the fully packed items 2' and 3'up are transferred to the conveyor belt 17, which the items in the depicted Direction of arrow leads away (Fig. 9 and 10).
In the area of the workstations b, c and d, holding punches 14 are provided above the tables 16, which simultaneously move downwards in the working cycle of the machine and press the respective item of goods below onto the table surface 16.
In the area of the work station b, openings 18 are provided in the table, through which the side cheeks 19 of a forehead folder 20 acting from below pass.
In work station d is the shaft of the punch! 14, a further end face folder 21, which acts from above, is provided, which with its side cheeks 22 effects the final completion of the end face fold.
In each folding track I or II, on both sides of the center plane thereof, supports 23, 23 'are provided which extend over the length of the folding track and on which holders 24, 24' and Side folder 25.25 'sit. The carriers 23, 23 'are each arranged in pairs and are held by rod members 26 and 27, which are only shown schematically, and are moved in the working cycle.
These linkage members 26 and 27 are connected to a control gear, which causes the carriers 23, 23 'with the holding and folding members 24, 24' and 25, 25 'to close or open in the working cycle of the machine, in order to carry out the folding, and that in the closed state, a back and forth movement is also carried out in the longitudinal direction of the folding path in order to simultaneously transfer the goods from the transfer station a to the work station b and the further stations c, d and e promote.
All moving parts of the device are driven by a common switching mechanism, not shown in detail, in the required work cycle and at the required speed.
The method of operation of the device is as follows: The goods 2 are brought in via the feeder I and placed one after the other on the lower punch 4. A device (not shown) is then used to place a blank 3 of wrapping material over it. This blank is held on the item 2 by means of the counter punch 4 ′. The stamps 4, 4 ′ move together with the item of goods 2 held between them and the blank 3 through the folding shaft 6 in which the U-shaped wrapping of the blank 3 of the wrapping material around the item of goods 2 takes place.
1 shows the device immediately after the stamp 4 has been loaded with an item 2, while FIG. 2 shows the position of the parts after the item has passed through the folding shaft 6. In this position of the parts, the aforementioned displacement of the control shafts 8 and 8 'against one another takes place, so that the jaws 9, 9' grip the already packaged item 2, 3 between them, while the jaws 7, which are seated on the same shafts 8, 8 ' , 7 'are opened in order to deliver the previously transported item of goods to the pair of lifting rams 15, 15', which is connected upstream of the folding path II.
At the same time, the return movement of the lifting ram 4 and then the forward movement of the bottom folder 13 and 13 ', which are controlled so that they each place the edge of the downwardly protruding envelope material blank 3 on the bottom of the item 2 in the correct manner. The joint movement of the control shafts 8, 8 'to the left, i. H. towards the folding path I, the partially packed item 2, 3, which is gripped between the jaws 9, 9 ′, is brought into the area of the pair of lifting rams assigned to the folding path I (FIG. 3). At the same time, the pair of jaws 7, 7 ′, which are seated on the same control shafts, are brought into the receiving position over the folding shaft 6.
The arrangement of the jaws 7,7'bzw. 9, 9 'on the control shafts 8, 8' is made such that they alternately close and open when the shafts slide against one another. This happens after each side transport of an item of goods. Every 1st, 3rd, 5th etc.
The item of goods that emerges from the folding and brush shaft arrives at folding track I and every 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.
Piece on the folding track II.
The punches 15, 15 'working in the transfer stations in front of each folding track bring the goods stocks to the level of the folding tracks III.
As soon as the partially packaged item 2, 3 has reached the level of the work table 16 (FIG. 10), the folding organ supports 23, 23 'in the starting position close so that, according to FIG. 8 (left side), they lift the item of goods between their jaws 24,24 '. In the next work cycle, the carriers 23, 23 ', which, in addition to the newly captured item of goods, hold further items of goods between the folders 25, 25' and counterholders 24, 24 'on them, move one switching step in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the folding web to the next work station (Fig. 5).
As soon as this position is reached, all of the items of goods located on the folding path are pressed onto the table surface 16 by means of the downwardly running punches 14 and held in place. In work station b, the folder 19, 20 runs upwards and executes the first front side fold from below. Now the jaws 24, 24 'or. Folders 25, 25 'as a result of the supports 23, 23' diverging, which then move back in the open position by the same switching step (FIGS. 6 and 7) and close again.
A new item of goods is detected and at the same time the items of goods located in the work stations b and c are detected by means of the screen folders 25 and 25 ′ or. Counterholder 24 and 24 'executed another side impact.
In the last work station d, when the holding die 14 is lowered by the folder 21, 22, the last front side fold is carried out from above, so that on the next conveying stroke the carrier 23, 23 'brings a fully packaged item of goods from station d to station e and this can be transferred to the belt 17 working here.
As can be seen, the two folded webs I and II, which are each assigned to a folding or brush shaft, work in layers. Each closing movement of the folder on one folding path corresponds to an opening movement of the folder of the other folding path, or every transport movement on one folding path corresponds to a return on the other path.
All the units and tools belonging to the device are connected with their drives to a common switching mechanism, which allows the individual parts to take effect at the right moment and in the right sense. Because the folding tracks work in layers and are arranged upstream of a common loading point, namely the folding or brush shaft, its high operating speed can be fully utilized and a high overall performance of the machine can be achieved by loading the two folding tracks.
If, in the illustrated embodiment of the device, the two folding tracks work on different conveyor belts, it goes without saying that only a single conveyor belt, for example running transversely in front of the end of the folding track, can be loaded.
PATENT APPLICATION I. Method for wrapping items of goods, in particular from the confectionery industry, in a cladding material blank using a lifting ram which pushes the item of goods with the cladding material blank placed on top through a folding or brush shaft, the blank being U-shaped around the wa ren piece is laid around, and then from gripping and folding organs that come into effect,
which grasp the item of goods together with the blank and execute the bottom and end face fold of the wrapping material blank around the item of goods, characterized in that the only partially wrapped items (2) open alternately after passing through the folding or brush shaft (6) at least two folded webs (I, II) formed by mutually cooperating gripping and folding elements are transferred and packed in these during a batch run.
