la fig. 1 est une vue en coupe verticale d'une première forme d'exécution applicable au refroidissement du cylindre d'un compresseur;
la fig. 2 est une vue en coupe selon la ligne II-II de la fig. 1;
la fig. 3 est une vue en coupe d'un autre mode de réa libation;
la fig. 4 est une vue en coupe selon la ligne IV-IV de la fig. 3;
Device intended to organize the circulation of a fluid in a circuit
The present invention relates to a device intended to organize the circulation of a fluid in a circuit comprising at least one closed annular cavity, of revolution about an axis.
Such a device can be used, for example, for the cooling of a cylinder of a piston compressor, for the injection at high speed of the circulating fluid into an external environment, or for the homogeneous mixing of this fluid with a other.
The device according to the invention is characterized by an orifice for admitting the fluid into the cavity, located at one of its ends and by at least one orifice for discharging the fluid from the cavity, at least one of the orifices being shaped and oriented so as to force the fluid threads to follow a helical path between the inlet port and at least one outlet port.
Several embodiments of the object of the invention will be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing, to which
fig. 1 is a vertical sectional view of a first embodiment applicable to the cooling of the cylinder of a compressor;
fig. 2 is a sectional view along the line II-II of FIG. 1;
fig. 3 is a sectional view of another embodiment;
fig. 4 is a sectional view along the line IV-IV of FIG. 3;
fig. 5 is a sectional view of another embodiment.
There is shown in FIG. I a piston compressor which comprises a cylinder 1 and a piston 2 driven by a reciprocating translational movement inside this cylinder by means of a control rod 2a. The upper part of cylinder 1 is closed by a cylinder head 3 into which open two pipes 4 and 5 reserved respectively for the admission and the exhaust of a fluid to be compressed. These pipes 4 and 5 are arranged with their axes parallel to that of cylinder 1, that is to say parallel to the direction of movement of piston 2. In each of these pipes are mounted valves 6 and 7 allowing the operation of the compressor. .
The compressor is cooled by means of a circulation device which comprises a cylindrical jacket 8 coaxial with cylinder 1, this jacket being secured to this cylinder, by delimiting between its internal surface and the external surface of cylinder 1 an annular cavity 9 sealed thanks to the presence of seals 10 and 11. In this cavity opens through an orifice 12 a pipe 13 (FIG. 2) serving for the admission of a cooling fluid which may be liquid or gaseous. The orifice 12 is provided at the lower part of the cavity 9, the axis of the pipe 13 being oriented such that it is tangent to the wall of the jacket 8 in a plane perpendicular to the axis of revolution of the set that corresponds to that of cylinder 1.
At its upper end and in a position opposite to that of the orifice 12, the cavity 9 comprises an evacuation orifice 14 communicating with a pipe 15 parallel to the pipe 13.
Thanks to this mounting of the liner on the cylinder 1 and the arrangement of the orifices 12 and 14 and their associated pipes 13 and 15, the fluid admitted into the cavity 9 tangentially to the wall of the liner follows in the cavity a movement in helix around the wall of cylinder 1. The fluid threads, from the entry into the cavity to the exit, move with a high speed in helical trajectories, making it possible to obtain a forced convection which notably increases the coefficient of heat exchange between the coolant and the cylinder wall.
The above arrangements thus making it possible to obtain particularly effective results, especially in the case of the embodiment envisaged, where the pipes 4 and 5 for admission and discharge of the fluid to be compressed in the machine are parallel to the axis of the cylinder.
The simplification of the cooling system is considerable, the structure of the cavity allowing the fluid to maintain a high speed in the latter even over long trajectories. In addition, the risks of blocking the cooling fluid circuit are reduced, given the simple shape of the section through which this fluid passes in its movement. For the same flow rate and for the same annular section, the convection coefficient, with a device described, is increased by a factor at least equal to five compared to conventional cooling systems where the streams of the cooling fluid have rectilinear paths parallel to the axis of revolution of the device.
In an alternative embodiment, shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the device comprises a cylindrical pipe 16 reserved for the circulation, in the direction of arrow 17, of a first fluid which can also be liquid or gaseous. Around this pipe 16 is mounted a coaxial jacket 18, delimiting with the pipe 16 an annular space 19. This annular space 19 communicates with an inlet pipe 20 for a second fluid which is injected into the space 19 tangentially to the wall. of the pipe 16. This second fluid therefore undergoes in space 19 a helical movement and is caused to mix with the first fluid by means of a series of orifices 21 pierced through the wall of the pipe 16 along a generatrix of that here with a tangential orientation as well.
Such a device is particularly useful for producing a homogeneous mixture between a solvent and a solute or for obtaining an aqueous dispersion, in particular with colloidal solutions. In this variant, it should also be noted that the intake manifold 20 may not be oriented tangentially to the liner 18 although this arrangement is preferred. Experience shows that the orifices 21 by their distribution and their own orientation are sufficient to create the desired helical circulation, the different direction of the admission introducing only an additional pressure drop.
Finally, in another variant, shown in FIG. 5, substantially the same arrangements as above have been used to adapt the circulation device to a furnace or boiler burner. The latter comprises a cylindrical portion 22 surrounded by a jacket 23 delimiting an annular space 24 into which is admitted by a pipe 25 a first fluid which may in particular be the oxidizing fluid. This fluid, driven in space 24 by a helical movement, is injected inside cylinder 22 through orifices 26 formed in a direction tangent to the wall of this cylinder. The cylinder 22 is extended by a portion 27 having a nozzle throat 28. At this throat opens the end of a second pipe 29 through which the combustible fluid arrives, the flow rate of which is regulated by a valve 30.
The centrifugal effect imposed by the device for circulating the oxidizing fluid ensures a homogeneous mixture with the combustible fluid and makes it possible to obtain, beyond the nozzle 28, a radiant flame with a large surface.
This is the case in particular when the oxidizer is air and the fuel is a liquid hydrocarbon.
In the device described, the speed of the fluid threads in the cavity is substantially constant. On the other hand, in other variants, the cavity could be delimited between two parallel conical walls inclined on the axis of revolution. In this case, the speed of the fluid streams can be increasing or decreasing between the inlet port and the outlet or ports according to the direction of inclination of said walls.
