Metering valve The present invention relates to metering valves that are mainly used in systems for metering gases from vacuum-technical devices and apparatus.
Generally known are metering valves with a shut-off device and a device for its adjustment.
In the known metering valves, a differential screw is usually used as a device for adjusting the shut-off element with respect to the valve seat with an opening for gas passage, the shut-off device being designed as a needle with a small conicity.
These metering valves have the following disadvantages: The margins that exist in the differential screw do not guarantee the required, very small adjustments of the shut-off element with regard to the valve seat, which are necessary for the constant change in the gas pressure in the vacuum-technical devices and apparatus, because these adjustments are much smaller than the size of the clearance in the screw itself.
The shut-off element and the opening in the valve seat for gas passage must be fitted to one another with a very high accuracy in order to ensure small changes in the cross-sectional area of the valve seat opening when the shut-off element is adjusted with respect to the valve seat.
The design of the shut-off device in the form of a needle with a small conicity contributes to its jamming in the valve seat even with smaller demands that are caused by the shut-off device when the seat opening is shut off, which leads to defor mation of the valve seat and sometimes even to the failure of the metering valve leads.
The metering valves of this construction do not allow the required pressure range to be set within the limits of which the metering of gases should be followed. The aim of the present invention is to eliminate the drawbacks mentioned.
The present invention is based on the task of developing a structurally simple metering valve that ensures operational reliability and a very high degree of continuity in gas metering at various pressure ranges within the limits of which gas metering takes place, for example at a range from 760 Torr to 1 '10-8 Torr.
This object is achieved in that in the metering valve according to the invention, a metal rod connected to the housing and the shut-off element is used as a device for adjusting the shut-off element, on which a force mechanism acts which causes the rod mentioned within the limits of its elastic deformation Tensile load stretches.
The connection of the metal rod to the housing is expediently established by means of a hollow stand mounted in the housing cover and an adjusting nut, which is intended for setting the shut-off element in the initial position.
The power mechanism is preferably carried out in Ge shape of a helical compression spring, which presses on the other against a cup that is connected in the hollow stand, one end of this spring braces against the shut-off element, while the other presses against a cup in the hollow is housed stand with the possibility of a reciprocating movement with the help of supporting on the stand pins which interact with a rotatable handwheel via an interposed threaded sleeve.
In the following, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to the drawing, in which the metering valve is shown in longitudinal section.
The metering valve comprises a housing 1 with a cover 2, an inlet connection 3 and outlet connection 4 and 5, a shut-off element 6, which is housed in a cavity 7 of the mentioned housing, a device for adjusting the shut-off element 6, which one with the mentioned The shut-off element contains metal rod 8, which is connected to the housing 1 by means of a hollow stand 9, which is mounted in the cover 2 of the housin ses, and an adjusting screw 10, as well as a force mechanism that keeps the metal rod 8 within the limits of its elastic deformation Tensile load stretches and is designed in the form of a helical compression spring 12,
which is arranged on a guide sleeve 11, wherein the one end of this spring presses against the shut-off element 6, while the other presses against a cup 13, which is in the hollow stand 9 with the possibility of a reciprocating movement with the help of supporting on it Pins 14 are accommodated, which interact with a rotatable handwheel 15 via an interposed threaded sleeve 16.
The housing 1 is meticulously connected to the cover 2 by means of a seal 17, which is pressed against the housing by screws 18 and is hermetically connected to the valve 6 by means of a bellows 19, whereby the cavity 7 is airtight from the atmosphere is isolated.
A seat 20 with an opening 21 for the passage of gas is arranged in the inlet connection 3.
The shut-off element 6 has a conical part 22 which is to cover the opening 21 in the seat 20 is true. The conicity of the part 22 of the Absperror goose 6 is quite large, whereby a jamming of the shut-off element is excluded.
The metal rod 8 is made of low-carbon steel or other metals which have sufficiently high values of the elastic limit in tension. It is connected to the shut-off device 6 by means of a hollow screw 23 and to the adjusting screw 10 by means of a hollow screw 24.
The helical compression spring 12 is dimensioned in terms of its parameters in such a way that the stresses that occur in the metal rod 8 under the action of the completely compressed spring when the inlet opening 21 of the valve seat is fully covered. 20 arise, the elastic limit of the material of the metal rod 8 would not exceed.
The intermediate threaded sleeve 16 has at one end an internal thread with the help of which it is connected to the hollow stand 9, while the other end it connects to the handwheel 15 det. In the lower end position the threaded sleeve 16 rests on a limiting adjusting nut 25, which is arranged on the threaded part of the hollow stand 9, while in the upper end position it presses against a projection 27 of the stand mentioned with a locking bolt 26.
The position of the shut-off element 6 is adjusted with the aid of the device for its adjustment in the metering valve in the manner set out below.
The metering valve is set in advance to the required pressure range. To do this, take the interposed threaded sleeve 16 and use the adjusting screw 10 and the metal rod 8 verbun with it, the shut-off element 6 with a necessary margin compared to the seat 20, which ensures the required maximum pressure (for example, is to carry out the ion pickling of materials in a vacuum evaporation system a pressure of 110-i Torr is necessary).
After the necessary clearance has been set, the interposed threaded sleeve 16 is screwed onto the hollow stand 9 with the aid of the handwheel 15. Here, the aforementioned sleeve acts via the pins 14 on the cup 13, which presses the helical compression spring 12 together.
The force of the compressed spring is transmitted to the shut-off element 6 and the metal rod 8 connected to it, which is stretched within the limits of its elastic deformation, so that the shut-off element 6 goes down and with its conical part 22 the opening 21 in the seat 20 is covered by the required size, thereby reducing the gas entry through the mentioned opening until the necessary minimum pressure is reached.
Then you stop screwing the interposed threaded sleeve 16 on the hollow stand 9 and then fixed the position of the interconnected threaded sleeve 16 with the help of the limit the adjusting nut 25, which is secured by the screw 28.
The work of the metering valve takes place within the limit values determined above for the clearances between the conical part 22 of the shut-off element 6 and the seat 20. The limit values for the clearances can be different in each specific case of valve use.
The proposed metering valve has the following advantages.
The use of a metal rod 8, which is stretched within the limits of its elastic deformation with the help of a force mechanism by tensile load, to adjust the shut-off element 6 guarantees very small adjustments of the shut-off element 6 be with regard to the seat 20, which depends on the characteristics of the helical compression spring 12 and from the diameter and length of the metal rod 8 are dependent.
Since the adjustments of the shut-off element 6 bezü Lich of the seat 20 within a very small area, no particularly precise match of the shut-off element 6 and the seat 20 is necessary. With this in mind, the conical part 22 of the shut-off element 6 can also be designed with a conicity that is considerably larger than that of the known metering valves. This prevents a Verklem men the shut-off member 6 and, accordingly, the deformation of the seat 20, which increases the Arbeitszuver reliability of the metering valve significantly.
The metering valve of this construction makes it possible to set the required pressure range within the limits of which the metering of gases is to take place.
