<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Calendar timepiece The object of the present invention is a calendar timepiece comprising an instantaneous jump date mechanism, that is to say, abruptly changing from one calendar digit to the next digit.
Such a timepiece is known in which the date crown is controlled, once every twenty-four hours, by a finger integral with a barrel pivoted on the frame of the movement and on which is fixed a spiral-shaped cam. , against which leans a saltire. A drive wheel, making one revolution in twenty-four hours, is mounted idle around said barrel and drives the latter by means of a coupling comprising a pin carried by the cam and entering an arcuate opening of the wheel date, to be driven, and with it the cam, by the date wheel, the jumper suddenly driving the cam when it reaches the end of the spiral, at the same time driving the barrel integral with the cam.
On the other hand, a device is known comprising a spring in the form of an arc of a circle carried by a date wheel having an opening in an arc of a circle in which engages a pin carried by the end of the spring and serving to drive the disc. date. This opening therefore has the function of arming the spring and guiding the ankle.
The present invention on the other hand uses a more robust cam mechanism operating according to the principle of the first construction mentioned, but of simplified construction.
Its object is a calendar timepiece, comprising an internally toothed date crown, a date wheel driven by the movement, a spiral-shaped cam, against which a lever rests, mounted madly on the axis of the date wheel and carrying a coupling pin engaging in an arcuate opening of the date wheel, so as to be able to be driven by the date wheel and drive the cam which gradually lifts the lever up to 'at the end of the spiral, said lever then suddenly causing the cam to rotate under the action of the spring.
It is characterized by the fact that the coupling pin passes through the plate of the date wheel and extends beyond said plate so as to meet the teeth of the date crown and to drive the latter. in rotation.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows an instantaneous jump date mechanism in a first extreme position.
The fia. 2 shows the same mechanism in its other extreme position.
Fig. 3 shows a sectional view along 11I-111 of FIG. 2.
In the timepiece, partially shown in the drawing, we recognize the hour wheel 1 which meshes directly with a reference 2 driven out or riveted to another reference 3, both pivoted on a pin 4 driven into the plate. The reference 3 in turn meshes with the date wheel 5 which, by virtue of the gearboxes 2 and 3, performs one revolution in twenty-four hours. This date wheel 5 is freely mounted on an axis 6 driven into the plate. A cam 7, carrying a pin 8, is also freely rotated on the axis 6, but below the date wheel 5. The pin 8 of the cam passes through the plate of the wheel 5 by a cutout 9 in arc.
A lever 10, freely adjusted on a drop 11 and held by a screw 12, is kept in permanent contact with the periphery of the cam 7, under the action of a wire spring 13 fixed to the plate by a screw 14. The date crown 18 is also positioned by a jumper 15 on
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
which acts a wire spring 16, which prevents the crown from accidentally moving during a jerk.
The instantaneous advance of the date crown 18 by 1/31 of a turn is produced by the sudden relaxation of the lever 10 under the action of the spring 13. In the initial position of the winding of the spring 13, the lever 10 and the cam 7 occupy the position shown in FIG. 1. The tip 10a of the lever 10 is located in the notch 7a of the. cam 7. The pressed pin 8 of the. cam then occupies a well-defined position and the date wheel 5, driven by the reduction gear, rotates clockwise.
The end 9a of the cutout 9 then abuts against the pin 8 of the cam 7 and the latter is driven at the same speed and in the same direction as the date wheel. The arming cycle of the spring 13 begins, because the point 10a of the lever 10, now following the spiral circumference 7c of the cam 7, describes a circular path around its pivot point.
The bump 10b of the lever 10 then pushes the spring 13 which is thus gradually armed to reach its maximum winding when the point 10a of the lever is at the greatest distance from the center of the cam 7, that is to say say on the top 7b of the cam 7. The winding of the spring 13 is carried out in about twenty hours.
At the end of the winding of the spring 13, the pin 8 of the cam comes into contact with a tooth 17 (fig. 1, 2 and 3) of the calendar disc 18. At this time, the point 10a of the lever 10 comes into contact with the 'end of the spiral 7c of the cam and no longer finding the necessary base to maintain its maximum winding position, will suddenly, under the action of the spring 13, resume its initial position by driving the cam 7 during its movement on the ramp 7d of this cam, the pin 8 of which drives the tooth 17 of the date crown.
The cam 7 and its pin 8 undergoing a great acceleration during the unwinding of the spring 13, the crown 18 advances instantly, at a well-determined instant, by one number.
It is not necessary for the pin 8 itself to drive the crown 18 by 1/31 of a turn, the jumper 15 ensuring the complementary displacement of the date crown.
