Fig. 1 zeigt den Zentralverschluss in Frontalansicht in geöffneter Stellung.
Method for closing and opening furniture with a central lock and central lock for executing this method When closing and opening furniture with drawers, regardless of whether they are made of wood, metal or another material that is provided with a central lock, this has been the case so far The procedure is that the closing element or elements are brought into such a closed position by means of a lock generally operated by means of a key or by sliding a main drawer shut that opening or closing
to move the closing elements into the open position, either gravity or a spring load must be overcome. This type of actuation of central locks is quite useful as long as no interference occurs. However, as soon as the central lock or the main drawer malfunction, it becomes clear that the concept that has been used up to now is extremely disadvantageous.
In order to be able to open and pull out the drawers and thereby obtain free access to all organs, which would enable effortless repairs, the locking organs would have to be brought into the open position, but this would be the case with a damaged lock or one that does not work Main drawer is impossible because the force of gravity or the spring load on the locking elements cannot be overcome without a functioning lock or operable main drawer. In such a case there has so far only been an at least partial destruction of the blocked furniture.
Another disadvantage of the hitherto common drawer furniture with a central lock is that the locking elements, which are usually in the form of a grid rail, only allow use on drawers whose height corresponds to the grid spacing. A free design of the drawer height and its arrangement has not been possible until now, unless it would be for each piece of furniture with a special drawer structure and special drawer size to produce special locking devices.
The present invention seeks to remedy these inconveniences by reversing the previously customary method of actuating the locking elements and proposing a correspondingly designed central lock for furniture with drawers.
The method according to the invention for closing and opening drawer furniture provided with a central lock is characterized in that the common locking member or the common locking members of the drawers is or are brought into a weight-loaded and / or spring-loaded position for locking, so that the weight and / or spring load causes the opening when the closure member or members are released.
The central lock for carrying out the above-described method is characterized in that it consists of at least one vertically arranged rail which represents the locking element and which can be moved by lifting and / or counter to the action of at least one weight and / or a spring, that it engages with the locking latches of the drawers.
Further details go from the drawing, in which an embodiment of the subject invention is shown.
Fig. 1 shows the central lock in a front view in the open position.
FIG. 2 is a side view of this and FIG. 3 is the corresponding floor plan in a horizontal section along the line A-A in FIG. 1.
FIG. 4 is a representation corresponding to FIG. 1 in the closed state and FIG. 5 is the plan view for this in horizontal section.
In these Fig. 1 is the body of the drawer furniture with the support rail 2 and one of the drawers 3. In the body 1, a cylinder lock 4 is used, the lock rod 5 firmly connected to it, which is mounted in the Hal teschiene 2, at its rear End of an eccentric 6 carries. The vertical locking rail 7 has several guide slots 9 which run obliquely upwards and which slide on guide pins 8 which are fastened to the retaining rail 2. In addition, the closure rail 7 has an angled portion 7 ′ at its upper end, with which it rests on the eccentric 6.
At each drawer 3 a bolt housing 10 is fastened, which contains a bolt 12 loaded by a spring 11.
The central lock thus created works in the following way: In the open position shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the eccentric 6 points downwards so that the lock rail 7, guided by the bolts 8, is in the lower left position. As a result, its right edge is flush with the right flank of the retaining rail 2, and the latches 12 of the drawers 3 can slide past un hindered when the drawers are aufzo conditions. For locking, the cylinder lock 4 is now rotated 180 in one or the other direction, so that the eccentric 6 is pivoted into its maximum position shown in FIG.
As a result, he lifts the locking rail 7 so that, guided by the bars 8, it is moved to the right into the locking position. In this position, it engages over the latches 12 of the drawers 3 so that they can no longer be opened. Conversely, however, an open drawer can still be closed, since the inclined surface of the latches 12 causes the same to resiliently move to the right when they are pushed past the locking rail 7. As soon as a Rie gel 12 has arrived behind the locking rail 7, it engages by the pressure of the spring 11.
If a malfunction occurs in the cylinder lock 4 that makes opening impossible, it is sufficient to drill out the cylinder lock. When the connection between the cylinder lock 4 and the lock rod 5 is drilled out, the lock rod can be rotated by a socket wrench so far that the weight of the locking rail 7 causes the eccentric 6 to vibrate in its lower position, whereby the locking rail 7 by means of it Inclined slots 9 slides to the left and the latches 12 of the drawers 3 releases.
The drawers 3 can then easily be pulled out and the furniture can be repaired, for example by replacing the cylinder lock 4, without the furniture itself having to be destroyed or damaged.
Instead of moving the locking rail 7 through inclined slots to the right and left, this movement could also be made possible through horizontal slots, in which case compression springs and / or tension weights would have to be provided that exert pressure on the locking rail 7 to the left. Such compression springs and / or tension weights could also be used in the illustrated embodiment, so that the effort of the rail to move into the open position is increased.
However, the central lock described also offers the advantage of being able to install drawers of any height and in any desired arrangement in a drawer unit without having to make any changes to the central lock. This is possible because the continuous locking edge of the vertical locking rail 7 is used over its entire length as a locking member for the bolt 12 of the drawer.
It is also advantageous that, thanks to the simplicity of its construction, the new central lock does not cause any higher costs than the inexpedient central locks that have been in use up to now.
If the advantage of being able to lock drawers of any height and arrangement with the central lock can be dispensed with for any reason, then it is of course also possible to design the locking rail 7 as a raster rail. It then does not necessarily have to be sideways to close, but can also be moved upwards.
