Outre les avantages cités ci-dessus, le dispositif présente encore les suivants : il donne un contrôle très précis (précision du même ordre de grandeur que la pesée de la bande contrôle, c'est-à-dire 0,3 pour mille); sa continuité permet de contrôler la bascule sur des tonnages bien plus importants qu'avec la matière, donc précision améliorée; il permet de recréer, dans les conditions réelles de fonctionnement tous les débits, de zéro au débit maximum de la bascule, donc un contrôle complet;

Continuous handling belt weighing control process
and device for its implementation
The present invention relates to a method for controlling weighing on a belt in continuous handling and a device for implementing this method.
Weighing of a material conveyed on a belt is generally carried out by means of an integrating belt scale indicating the weight of material passing over the weighing table as a function of time. The calibration of this scale is carried out according to the average volume and the density of the material transported as a function of time and therefore requires numerous verifications or modifications. However, these adjustments can only be carried out in static mode by means of the so-called 0 weight control or of a control by calibrated carriages which are rolled on the table. In any case, these static settings cannot then account for the dynamic effects of the load.
Adjustments in dynamic regime are however possible but they involve material tests) y always delicate and expensive, especially at high flow rates that can reach 1000t / h and more.
The present invention overcomes these drawbacks and provides a method allowing very precise weighing control, in dynamic regime, accounting for all the effects of normal operation, for flow rates varying in large proportions, without consumption of material.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that a fraction of a known mobile mass, of elongated shape, closed on itself and traversing a periodic cycle, is substituted for the load in continuous mode, this fraction being supported over the entire length intended for weighing, the number of cycles traveled by the mass is counted and the total past mass is measured, from the value of said known mass and the number of cycles traveled, by taking the product of the known mass by the number of revolutions covered, the flow rate of the installation itself being given by measuring the cycle period.
The device intended for the implementation of the above method is characterized in that it comprises an endless belt of known mass, arranged in the direction of a conveyor around a fixed rigid beam provided with rollers at its part. upper and at its ends, the lower part of which rests on the conveyor, along at least the entire length of the weighing table involving an integrating scale, driven by the conveyor at the same speed as the latter and in relation to a lap counting.
The appended drawing illustrates, by way of example, an implementation of the method which the invention comprises and represents, also by way of example, an embodiment of the device for this implementation.
Fig. I illustrates this implementation.
Fig. 2 is a side view of this embodiment.
Fig. 3 is a cross section corresponding to FIG. 2, and
figs. 4a and 4b are respectively a section and a plan view of an endless belt that this embodiment comprises.
Referring to fig. 1, the fraction P of a known mass M is supported on a conveyor T and is driven by the latter in the direction of arrow F over the length L of a weighing table t, cooperating with an integrating rocker not shown.
If the known mass M makes N complete revolutions, the total mass M X N will be passed on the conveyor. This result M X N must be read on the weighing head of the integrating scale and makes it possible to verify or carry out its calibration.
A support beam 1 (fig. 2 and 3), light and rigid, carrying an endless belt 2 is provided with rollers 3 at its upper part and on the adjustable end sectors 4. It is rigidly connected to a frame 5 of a conveyor belt 6 by means of adjustable trestles 7. The lower part of the endless belt 2 rests on the conveyor 6 over the entire length of a weighing table 8 and only the mass of this part of the belt intervenes in the weighing control; the upper part of said strip is in fact supported by the beam 1 and the rollers 3. The weighing table 8 is provided with rollers 9 supporting the conveyor 6 and it is connected to the integrating scale on belt 10 by connecting members it . A tachometer 12 is connected to band 2.
According to other possible embodiments of the device, the beam can also rest on the conveyor belt itself, by means of two end drums provided that these drums are located outside the weighing length. Finally, these two mounting cases can merge, that is to say mounting the beam and the endless belt both on the frame and on the conveyor belt.
The endless belt 12 (fig. 4a and 4b) can consist of a flexible conveyor belt on which unit loads 13 of any but known weight are fixed, arranged in one or more layers depending on the desired load and whose fastenings on the band are provided by members 14. It could also consist of the loads themselves hooked to each other and forming an endless belt, or could be made of various materials (such as thick rubber) with holes or cells in which loads liquids or solids can be fixed, the main thing being that we know rigorously the weight of the assembly moving around the support beam.
This device adapts to any weighing length, from linear weighing to tables of several meters. It can operate horizontally or on a slope, at any flow rate, and its shapes can take on different aspects, depending on the weighing instrument to be controlled. It can be mounted on a scale in order to carry out a test, and then dismantled, or it can be permanently mounted above the weighing table and lowered by appropriate means onto the weighing table at the time of the test, and then reassembled, which makes it possible to carry out frequent rocking tests for very rapid implementation.
The operation of the device described is as follows:
The lower part of the endless belt is lifted by means of any suitable device, for example hooks; the conveyor is started up and the empty conveyor belt is tared to zero; the strip is left to rest on the conveyor; at a given start time, the tape revolutions counter and the integrating flip-flop totalizer are simultaneously started.
If M is the total mass of the belt, a fraction of which rests entirely on the weighing table, after N turns of said belt, a mass will have passed.
M X N on the carrier. This result must be read on the weighing head to obtain an exact weighing, which allows the calibration of the scale to be verified.
In addition to the advantages mentioned above, the device also has the following: it gives very precise control (precision of the same order of magnitude as the weighing of the control strip, that is to say 0.3 per thousand); its continuity makes it possible to control the scale on much larger tonnages than with the material, therefore improved precision; it makes it possible to recreate, in real operating conditions, all the flow rates, from zero to the maximum flow rate of the scale, therefore complete control;
and the distribution of the loads on the endless belt can be such that the instantaneous flow varies with each revolution, hence very real operating conditions, representing a tail of products, the total weight of the assembly in motion allowing, at the end of account, control of the behavior of the rocker in front of these variations.
